Bloody Pretender

Alyssa Watson

"Alyssa! You are finally here," Clara called pitifully. She held my arms and pierced her eyes into mine. If I hadn't known her true behavior, I would have believed the serenity and innocence in her eyes. "Thank you for deciding to give me some of your blood," She added and my eyelids twitched.

I thought Tristan brought me here to treat my wounds but it turned out I came to give his mistress some of my blood. I had gone through enough since I woke up. Why is the world filled with inhuman people?

"I mean, even though that was the reason Tristan got married to you. It's your right to decide if you will give me some or not,"

She clearly stated, trying to make me know I was just a blood bank to them. What the hell has Alyssa Arnold gone through? It must have really been torturous facing these two.

"Bloody pretender," I muttered under my breath with gritted teeth.

"Did I hear you say something?" Clara asked.

I raised my head and forced a smile, "I mean, what are friends for? Oh! Sorry... I have to do it for Tristan's happiness,"

What the heck am I saying? Friends? I bet the owner of this body will beat me to a stupor if she heard this.

Clara's smile froze at the mention of friends. She awkwardly grinned and went back to sit beside Tristan who was already sitting on the bed.

Why do I feel like there was more to Clara and Alyssa Arnold's relationship? It was more than a typical main wife and mistress connection.

Well, that was none of my business. I have my problem to deal with. Which are Chloe and Leon. God has given me another opportunity and I must use it wisely.

The doctor came after some minutes and took me to the laboratory where my blood will be taken. After an hour, we were done.

Clara and Tristan were making out when I got back into Clara's ward. They stopped kissing and Clara glanced at me sympathetically. I swear I hate that look.

Why was she sorry for me when she was the reason my life became worthless?

"Tristan, I want you to stay beside me until I finish taking Alyssa's blood,"

Clara pouted, holding his hands and making a puppy face.

She was so adorable that even if I was a man, I wouldn't possibly reject her.

At this moment, I was already getting dizzy, the room was spinning in my eyes. I held my head and supported my posture with the doorknob.

"Okay, baby! Anything for you," He kissed her forehead and took a few dollars out of his pocket. "Take a cab with this," He stretched the money over to me. Clara also brought $500 from her purse and added it to the money.

"Please get vitamins with this. Thanks for helping out as usual," An ambiguous smile flashed across her eyes.

This girl is sly. No wonder Tristan was head over heels for her despite the damage she had done.

Well, since I have no other way of getting home, I collected the money from them and trailed my steps outside. My gaze darkened as soon as I got outside. I tried to control the dizziness until I got home but it was futile. Before I could stop a cab, everything went blank.

*. *. *.

"You have to get up now! You have to avenge my death. You have to get revenge for your death, Alyssa. Get up now. You have to kill those who killed both of us. Don't spare anyone. You have to kill them," A voice kept ringing in my head as I tried to overcome the darkness that was overwhelming me.

I was hallucinating, yet, it felt so surreal.

   "Ah!"

I sprang up, widening my eyes and breathing heavily. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead. The white t-shirt I was putting on turned wet as if a bucket of water was poured on my body. I looked around and realized I was in my bedroom.

Vividly, I remembered I fainted in front of the hospital after giving Clara some of my blood. How did I get here? Who brought me here?

I was still thinking of answers to my question when the door opened, and Tristan walked in gracefully. Since he was still putting on the same clothes from the last time I saw him, I presumed it was still the same day.

Paakk" The sound of the slap he gave me resounded in the room. My cheek tightened and charred. I raised my head and looked at him. I was filled with resentment and hatred. If I had my way, I would pounce on this man and tear him apart with my two hands.

"Do you think you can gain my attention by staging some play?"

My brows furrowed and I squeezed my face, looking confused. Stage some play? When?

As if he knew the questions on my mind, he continued, "How dare you faint on the road knowing well we are both public figures,"

My head dropped and I laughed inwardly. How was I supposed to know I would faint on the road?

"You are unbelievable. Your wife gave your mistress a large quantity of her blood and the only help you could do was send her home alone. And now, you are blaming her for fainting in public. Can you be any more heartless than this?"

His body stiffened when he heard my response. He wasn't expecting that since Alyssa Arnold had never argued with him. Well, this is Alyssa Watson.

I spat the blood out of my mouth and removed the quilt from my body. I didn't know where the strength was coming from, nevertheless, I felt my bones becoming strong and energy returning to my body.

He tugged my arms and shoved me back to the bed. I gagged in fear and shifted far away from him, I folded myself at the edge of the bed. "Clean the mess you created yourself,"

He made it clear and stormed out.

After he was gone, I folded my legs and rested my head on my knees. Inexplicable emotions swelled within me and tears streamed uncontrollably down my face. I was becoming tired.

No doubt, I was one of the unfortunate humans on earth. First, it was Chloe and Leon, now it is Tristan and Clara.

My strength was leaving me. There was nobody I could turn to. The maids here didn't have an atom of respect for me. What was I expecting when their boss treated me like a speck of dirt?

After crying my eyes out, I had a warm bath. Later, I decided to study Alyssa's room and try to be familiar with it.

First, I went to her closet and checked the clothes one after the other. After scanning half of her closet, I finally got the reason Tristan cheated on her with Chloe. All the clothes here are baggy and old-fashioned except for the trouser and t-shirt I was putting on.

What the hell! No man wanted a woman who dresses like an old man when she wasn't one.

"Ah! No wonder you lost your husband to a model," I exclaimed, holding one of the ugly dresses in my hands.

Clara was a hot girl, even though Alyssa looked better. But, no one could see her beauty since she always wrapped everything up with her baggy clothes.

I guess she didn't have time for that since she was a blogger.

I found a door inside the closet. Curiously, I touched it and the door opened. Unlike her bedroom which was emitting her loneliness, this room looked lively. It was her working place.

Obviously, her career was her only companion and the only reason for her existence. She had poured all her happiness into this room.

I strode into it and took a full view of the room. It was exquisite. There was only one table in the room and behind the table was a chair. There were two APPLE Laptops and two APPLE iPhones on the table. I picked one of the iPhones and inserted my fingerprint, instantly, it got unlocked.

Just as I unlocked the phone, notifications rushed in one after the other but only one pricked my interest. I clicked on it and realized it was a piece of news.

Nevertheless, my hands trembled when I saw the headline.

"BLOGGER ALYSSA FAINTED BECAUSE SHE HAD AN ABORTION"
