LOGIN“Y…you, what happened to you?” she asked as she stammered, her eyes still on the scars and wounds at the latter’s naked parts.
However, just as she asked that question, she shook her head, thinking that she was foolish, how could she ask her that question when its quite evident what had happened.
“Alaine, come in here,” she shouted, startling both Tracy and Alaine.
Tracy stared at her, a frown on her face, not understanding what that woman was calling her mother for.
She opened her mouth to say something but her mother had already opened the door.
As soon as she walked in, she looked around panickingly, didn’t see anything wrong and sighed in relief. “Why are you screaming? Gosh, someone might think that something bad has happened,”
Hearing her words, Rhoda turned to her, fury in her eyes and face. “Nothing bad? Are you blind?”
Alaine frowned, not understanding why the latter was behaving like that. “Can you come down and explain what’s wrong?”
Rhoda pointed at the woman, her chest rising and falling as she was breathing in heavily. Staring at the woman and noticing that she had really not discovered what was wrong, she dropped her hand as she sighed deeply, but not completely, she just placed it on her chest and started patting it, trying to soothe her heart.
“Look at your daughter and tell me what’s wrong.”
Alaine stared at her friend for a while before turning to look at Tracy.
Seeing the ugly scars and some were even recent, she was stunned. She had just seen one hand but never expected her body to look like this.
Tracy was in a very short towel, thus the two women could see how her thighs and legs looked like.
Alaine stared at those scars, finding hard to believe.
Tears filled her eyes as she imagined the torture her daughter had gone through. She slowly and heavily averted her gaze from the scars and looked at Tracy which didn’t have any scar. She guessed that those people were afraid that their neighbors would discover that something was wrong and report them thus they didn’t dare beat her face.
Also, since Tracy was malnourished and had a yellow skin, it hide her beauty too well. They never thought that she was beauty to overshadow their daughter once she returned.
“Baby, be good and remove the towel for mommy to see,” she said with a choking sound.
Tracy stared at her mother for a while not knowing what to do. She looked at her body, then looked at the two women who were staring at her expectantly and sighed.
She slowly took off her towel, she didn’t see anything to hide as they were both women, also, she was quite ugly. She wasn’t looking down on herself but she just knew how her current body looked like.
In her previous life, she had been afraid that Tracy won’t be able to take it thus she never revealed her scars but in this life, she didn’t care about anything but herself.
Gulps from the women were heard, before she even looked back at them, she heard sounds of suppressed cries.
She lifted her head, only to see the two women crying.
“What kind of beasts would do this to a kid,” Rhoda asked, her voice coming out as a whisper despite being angry as she was still crying.
“It’s nothing,” Tracy said shrugging, not to reassure them but because to her, the scars didn’t matter at all. With the skills she had learnt in prison, she was confident that she would get her perfect body back in no time.
“These scars, I am even afraid that with the doctor’s scar removing ointment, they wouldn’t fade,” Alaine murmured.
“Can you please turn around?” Rhoda asked, her voice seeming so distant, one could tell from it that she was afraid of what she might see but still, there was determination and curiosity in her eyes.
Tracy nodded and did as instructed. The reason she allowed the woman to look at her was because she was the one who would be massaging her, since she would still see them in the end, why hide them now?
Alaine hurriedly shut her eyes, tears still flowing down her cheeks. It was just as they had expected, there were more scars on her daughter’s back that on the other parts.
“See, this is the kind your precious daughter lived when she was in Eve’s place. How did you treat that daughter? I wouldn’t mention as you clearly know. Compare, compare the two lives and tell me. Do our baby really owe that girl and her family to be treated like this?” Rhoda shouted, her eyes red and lips trembling.
Tracy turned around only to see her biting her lip harder and knew that the woman was just trying to be strong. She turned to her mother then at Rhoda. She had guessed that the two had close relationship but never expected it to be this good.
Rhoda was trying to be strong as her mother had already broken down.
Hearing Rhoda’s words, Alaine forced herself to open her eyes but when she opened them, they weren’t as they were before. Instead, they were filled with rage and hatred.
“What’s the use of hating? Those who you should hate aren’t even here. You can leave and go find them. However, let me warn you, all those scheming thoughts that were in your mind, you better get rid of them. That girl, born from that witch, I don’t want to see her in front of me, ever. If she does, don’t blame me for being ruthless,” Rhoda words were quite ruthless and hateful, but Tracy felt that she was sincere towards her thus she didn’t care how the latter treated the others at all.
The two women turned and stared at Alaine waiting to see her next move.
Alaine stared at Rhoda, her gaze unfocused, all that was ringing in her ears were Rhoda’s words: ‘This is the kind your precious daughter lived when she was in Eve’s place. ‘Tracy frowned as she could tell that there was something wrong with the woman, but she didn’t want to speak, believing that it wasn’t life-threatening.What Tracy could tell Rhoda could do. She looked at Alaine, displeased as she wondered when her friend had become this weak. She sighed as she started shaking the woman so as to wake her up, causing Alaine to jump in fright.Seeing that it was Rhoda’s, she calmed down a little bit, but she was displeased with the woman’s actions.“Why did you do that?” Her eyes were full of anger, but a hint of confusion.Rhoda rolled her eyes at her and said, “You need to leave so that we can start the treatment.”Alaine stared at her for a while, something inside her telling her that the woman was lying, but since she wasn’t in a good mood, she nodded her head. She turned around

“Hae Rhoda,” Alaine greeted the lady behind the desk when they walked into the spa.The woman who was busy typing on the keyboard lifted her head. When she saw Alaine, a smile appeared on her face. “Hae Alaine. Weren’t you here a few days ago?”“I brought my daughter today,” Alaine said.Rhoda nodded as they were used to seeing Eve every week. She looked around and couldn’t see Eve. She turned to Alaine with a confused gaze. “Where is she?”“Here she is,” Alaine said as she pulled Tracy closer to her. “I bet you haven’t seen the company’s news.”Rhoda shook her head, then stared at the woman waiting for her to tell her what was going on.“The kids were swapped at birth. She is my biological daughter, Tracy. Can you please be the one serving her?”Rhoda stared at the girl whom her friend had introduced. Hearing her last sentence, she frowned, not understanding why the latter would request such a thing, but she still nodded as the woman really requested anything.“I am your mom’s friend
“Of course not, dear. Since that’s what you want, then we can go with that,” Alaine said.“You heard what my daughter said, the banquet should be one of a kind. You have a week,” she said.“Okay, madam,” the secretary replied, and the call was disconnected.“Wow, with that kind of heiress, I wouldn’t mind working overtime to make this banquet the prettiest,” one of the secretaries said, and the others nodded their heads.“Why don’t we divide the work? That way, we can do a great job. I also have a feeling that we won’t be given other tasks apart from that.” The others nodded as they all wanted to contribute as a way to thank Tracy for speaking for them.“The boss might not, but you know her husband.” Upon hearing those words, everyone stopped talking as they knew how Mr Grant was; he always allocated tasks to them so that everyone could see that he had a say. Still, he didn’t have a lot of the company’s shares. After hanging up the call, Alaine opened Weibo, looked at the company’s mai
Alaine stared at Tracy, thinking her daughter’s laugh was so pleasing to the ears, but something felt uneasy.“What? The Grants heiress needs to ask her husband for permission? Are you the company’s CEO or is he? No, sorry, aren’t you the Grant’s daughter? So your words carry more weight than his, right?” Tracy asked, causing Alaine to panic.“You just claim that you need to ask your husband for his decision; if he refuses, you will claim that it wasn’t that you didn’t do it, but he did? I am so sure that you sure how he favors Eve more than he favors me, right?”Tracy looked at her mother with indifference, her heart already gone cold with everything that happened. Well, she went back to being the indifferent Tracy who had just walked into the Grants' mansion after being reborn.“Anyways, Miss Grant, if you don’t want to acknowledge me, just say so; please stop wasting my time. I need to go look for a cheap house to live in,” Tracy added, but Alaine understood those unsaid words. She,
Despite walking hurriedly, the distance between the two continued widening, causing Alaine to panic. Her face was full of tears, making everyone who passed her look at her twice as they found her too pretty and rich. With no option, she stopped a motorbike that passed her.“Can you please reach that lady?” she asked as she climbed up.The man was stunned but still did as told.Tracy heard a motorbike behind her, causing her to step aside, but when it stopped in front of her and she recognized her mother, she snorted and continued walking.“Baby, I am sorry, okay?” Alaine said as she hurriedly ran to her and hugged her, stunning everyone.“I am sorry, but I am not your daughter. Your daughter is at home,” Tracy said coldly, making more tears roll down her mother’s cheeks.“I am sorry. You are the daughter I carried for nine months; my blood runs in your veins; how can you not be my daughter?” Alaine asked stubbornly and didn’t let go of Tracy’s arm no matter how much Tracy tried to get
“Miss, we have arrived.”Tracy heard someone saying, and she opened her eyes slowly. When she saw that she was in a car, she was stunned.‘What is happening?’ Tracy wondered as her eyes started roaming around. She met the driver’s gaze through the rear-view mirror, stunning her.“Uncle Stephen?” sh
Alaine stared at Tracy, her heart aching. She understood that the latter must have gone a lot to make her doubt everyone.“You are my daughter, my flesh and blood, so how can I not be ashamed of you?” she said before turning to Lilian and her brother.“I am sorry for making a fool out of myself,” s
The driver frowned as he stared at the latter, who seemed frozen in the middle of the road, displeasure filling him as each second passed; his patience was running out.“Brother, it seemed the little girl is frightened; you really can’t blame her,” the girl in the passenger seat said with a chuckle
“Tracy, you are going to be released today. Are you excited?” her roommate asked the woman who was seated on her bed, staring at the white wall blankly.Hearing her name being called out, Tracy broke out of her thoughts and looked at her roommate.‘Being released?’ she asked herself before getting
