ログインThe driver frowned as he stared at the latter, who seemed frozen in the middle of the road, displeasure filling him as each second passed; his patience was running out.
“Brother, it seemed the little girl is frightened; you really can’t blame her,” the girl in the passenger seat said with a chuckle when she felt the cold aura erupting from her brother.
The man frowned a bit before an expressionless look took over. “A little girl, huh?” he whispered as he looked at Tracy, then at his sister.
“Yeah, look at her, so fragile, the wind can even blow her away,” the girl at the side said with a frown, as pity filled her eyes. “She seems malnourished; look at her complexion.”
The man turned to Tracy; he had long noticed it, but since she was a stranger, he didn’t care at all about her.
Alaine rushed to her daughter, who seemed to be in her own world, tears flowing down. “You just got back to me, and now you want to leave me? Don’t you care about me?” she asked, crying as she held Tracy’s arm.
Feeling a warm sensation on her arm, Tracy blinked, coming back to her senses. She looked down at her arm and saw a hand holding her tightly, causing her to lift her head and stare at her mother.
“I am sorry, Mom,” she said as she wiped the woman’s tears. They weren’t close in the first place, so she wouldn’t have cared, but she disliked seeing anyone crying much worse, let alone a person who was crying cause of her.
“That’s her mother?” the girl in her car murmured in disbelief when she heard the conversation.
“People out there are cold-hearted,” the man replied as he glanced at Tracy and her mother. Why did the mother look healthy, beautiful, wearing branded clothes, while the daughter looked like a beggar? Though wearing clean clothes, they had patches.
“No, something is wrong. I know her,” the girl beside him said as she shook her head. “Eve doesn’t have a sister. Or was she lost?”
The man was stunned, but before he spoke, the girl had already gotten out of the car.
“Is everything okay?” the girl asked as she approached the mother-daughter duo.
Seeing the girl in front of her, Tracy stared at her, getting lost in her mind. She had been in prison cause of this girl.
After Eve ran her over, her parents forced her to take the blame, claiming that they would make sure she wouldn’t go to prison, but they never helped. Well, maybe they did, but the girl’s brother, Julian Field, was way stronger and wealthier than they were, so how could he let the person who murdered his sister free?
Seeing the fear, relief, hatred, envious in Tracy’s eyes, the man frowned. His institution told him that the girl was very familiar with them, but he had never met her, so how could this be possible?
“Your daughter might have been frightened; why not take her to the hospital?” he told Alaine, who had a worried look on her face as she stared at her daughter. She didn’t understand why she was behaving like that.
Hearing the man’s words, she turned to him, then glanced at Tracy before nodding.
Tracy heard the man’s words and her gaze shifted from the girl to the man beside her. Julian Field- she hated and at the same time, adored the man.
Though she was his sister’s murderer in name, he had always made sure to visit her in prison, once a month. Even if he claimed that he was there to see how she was suffering, it never seemed like it, as he would tell her what was happening outside.
“No need. I am okay. Mom, let’s go,” Tracy said as she held Alaine’s arm, dragging her away from the siblings.
“Wait,” the girl called out, causing them to halt.
“What do you want, miss?” Tracy asked, feigning she didn’t know them, causing Julian to raise his eyebrow.
“Are you Eve’s sister?” she asked, making both Tracy and Alaine look at her in surprise.
“And you are?” Alaine asked as she stared at her, as she knew Eve’s friends.
“Lilian Field. Eve’s classmate. I have seen you during the parents' meetings,” the girl introduced herself.
“Aaah, I have heard so much about you. Never thought that we would meet like this; I am sorry,” Alaine said with a smile on her face as she recognized that name.
Eve had always complained about the latter. Claiming that the woman seemed to not want her to be happy.
“It’s okay,” Lilian said with a faint smile on her lips before she turned to Tracy, who was staring at her.
Tracy was stunned when she heard that introduction, as she never knew that Eve and Lilian were classmates. She frowned as she wondered whether Eve killed Lilian by accident or if it was intentional.
“No,” Tracy replied.
“Then…” Lilian started speaking but then glanced at Alaine. “If you aren’t her sister, why are you calling her mother, mom?”
“Oh,” Tracy replied, understanding what was happening.
“Well, she is a fake heiress. Do you get it now?” Tracy said, stunning everyone.
“Tracy,” Alaine said in a low yet commanding tone, as she didn’t like Tracy’s words.
Tracy turned to her mother, her eyes staring at the woman with no ripple of emotions. “What? She stole my life. What is there to hide? People will find out sooner or later, or…”
Her gaze turned sharper, colder than ever, causing Alaine panic as Tracy’s commanding aura surrounded them. “You don’t want anyone to do that? I am your daughter, cause I am not prettier than Eve? Or is it because I haven’t grown up with you? Oh, I understand, maybe you are planning on telling the world that I am your adopted daughter, mmh? Or a family relative from the village who came to stay with you? Every word pierced Tracy’s heart, and she shook her head in panic.
“What nonsense are you speaking?” she asked, her face pale. She tried looking at Tracy’s face, but immediately she met those cold eyes, she lowered her head.
Lilian glanced at her brother before looking at Tracy with pity. Who in school didn’t know how the woman pampered Eve?
As she waited for her mother’s reply, Tracy’s eyes got colder, as she wondered whether she had hit the nail. If that was the truth, why would the woman treat her better? She wondered, her mood getting complicated, and the silence wasn’t helping her at all.
“What? Feeling guilty?” she asked, a mocking smile appearing on her face, but whether she was really mocking the woman or herself, no one could tell.
Alaine stared at Tracy, thinking her daughter’s laugh was so pleasing to the ears, but something felt uneasy.“What? The Grants heiress needs to ask her husband for permission? Are you the company’s CEO or is he? No, sorry, aren’t you the Grant’s daughter? So your words carry more weight than his, right?” Tracy asked, causing Alaine to panic.“You just claim that you need to ask your husband for his decision; if he refuses, you will claim that it wasn’t that you didn’t do it, but he did? I am so sure that you sure how he favors Eve more than he favors me, right?”Tracy looked at her mother with indifference, her heart already gone cold with everything that happened. Well, she went back to being the indifferent Tracy who had just walked into the Grants' mansion after being reborn.“Anyways, Miss Grant, if you don’t want to acknowledge me, just say so; please stop wasting my time. I need to go look for a cheap house to live in,” Tracy added, but Alaine understood those unsaid words. She,
Despite walking hurriedly, the distance between the two continued widening, causing Alaine to panic. Her face was full of tears, making everyone who passed her look at her twice as they found her too pretty and rich. With no option, she stopped a motorbike that passed her.“Can you please reach that lady?” she asked as she climbed up.The man was stunned but still did as told.Tracy heard a motorbike behind her, causing her to step aside, but when it stopped in front of her and she recognized her mother, she snorted and continued walking.“Baby, I am sorry, okay?” Alaine said as she hurriedly ran to her and hugged her, stunning everyone.“I am sorry, but I am not your daughter. Your daughter is at home,” Tracy said coldly, making more tears roll down her mother’s cheeks.“I am sorry. You are the daughter I carried for nine months; my blood runs in your veins; how can you not be my daughter?” Alaine asked stubbornly and didn’t let go of Tracy’s arm no matter how much Tracy tried to get
Alaine stared at Tracy, her heart aching. She understood that the latter must have gone a lot to make her doubt everyone.“You are my daughter, my flesh and blood, so how can I not be ashamed of you?” she said before turning to Lilian and her brother.“I am sorry for making a fool out of myself,” she apologized with a faint smile on her face, but the siblings just looked at her emotionless.Julian couldn’t understand what Lilian was trying to achieve, but as her brother, he stood by the side to support her.Alaine sighed when she understood that things might not ease till she spoke the truth. “Yes, Tracy and Eve were swapped at birth. Tracy just arrived.”Lilian stared at Tracy for a while before her lips curled up in a good mood.“Eve’s biological mother, she is from the village?” she asked, causing Alaine to frown, displeased with her words. Inwardly, she thought that Eve’s words about the girl were true.“I hate your daughter; no, I loathe Eve, and I like seeing her suffering. Now

Don’t you care about me?” she asked, crying as she held Tracy’s arm.
“Dad, how can Mom do that to me? Just because I am not her biological daughter? I thought that having brought me up, she has affection for me and loves me,” Eve said as she cried in her father’s arms.Mr Grant sighed helplessly. “You know that I can’t contradict her. Just bear with it at the moment, I will work on something, okay?” he said softly, his eyes showing the worry and pain he felt for Eve.“But, how can I stay in that room? I can’t,” Eve said as she looked around the room. The room she had been allocated was thrice smaller than her previous room. It didn’t even have a walking closet and a study room. Her clothes, they couldn’t even fit in the wardrobes. “I thought that after mom says that my clothes can’t fit, she would pity me and give me back my room, but instead, she asked the maids to take away the clothes that were left and divide them amongst themselves. Isn’t that humiliating me?”The thought of her outfits being worn by maids made her angry. Some of the outfits were
Everyone was startled and turned to her.“Wife, what’s wrong?” Mr Grant asked with a frown.Alaine didn’t glance at him. Her attention was on Tracy’s hand. Ignoring the stares, she walked towards her daughter. The room was filled with silence; only her soft steps could be heard.Eve looked at her mother, not understanding what she was trying to do. She could tell from the direction that she was walking towards Tracy, prompting her to turn and look at her ‘new sister’.Alaine stood in front of Tracy, took her hand, and started caressing it gently. She saw it clearly; it was due to beatings, and since they weren’t treated, they left a hideous scar. Both Eve and her father were stunned when they saw her actions; their eyes fell on the wounds. Mr Grant was displeased when he realized that they were the cause of Alaine’s scream.Eve stared at Tracy, hatred and displeasure in her eyes, as she started suspecting that Tracy had revealed those wounds on purpose.“What…what happened to you?” Tr
“Miss, we have arrived.”Tracy heard someone saying, and she opened her eyes slowly. When she saw that she was in a car, she was stunned.‘What is happening?’ Tracy wondered as her eyes started roaming around. She met the driver’s gaze through the rear-view mirror, stunning her.“Uncle Stephen?” sh
“Tracy, you are going to be released today. Are you excited?” her roommate asked the woman who was seated on her bed, staring at the white wall blankly.Hearing her name being called out, Tracy broke out of her thoughts and looked at her roommate.‘Being released?’ she asked herself before getting
