Raine's POV

I noticed that Kai seemed a bit concerned about something. When he spoke those words, I felt a twinge of happiness. I was really hoping that he would open up to me and trust me.

"What did you mean by that? Are you keeping something from me?" I asked. He closed his eyes and forced a smile.

"What if I am, and what if it's something shocking or unacceptable to you? What would you do?" he responded.
