Chapter 7: Desirably dangerous

Raine's POV

I look at him and he's freaking serious. I wasn’t expecting that because we’re supposed to be in an argument but I was the only one who raised the white flag first. I sighed.

"I want to go home and drink something. I've been stressed lately. You know my address anyway," I replied.

I put on my seatbelt again and ignored that grin he made. I think the thin ice that I’ve been walking on will have cracks anytime soon and I’ll fall into cold water in the least amount of time I expected. I lean on the chair and massage my shoulder.

I close my eyes and try to ignore his presence just to hide the answer that almost slips in my tongue. I almost and excitedly say yes!

I should remember who I am and I’m just merely a peasant that Kai helps when I need a helping hand. I shouldn't have dreamed of being with him, not because I’m fucking rich in this dream.

Yes, I feel like it’s a dream and I know I’ll wake up soon before I even realize it. I yawn and feel sleepy too. A bright light enters my eyes and it irritates me.

I flip around and slowly open my eyes. My lips agape and I fall down the bed. What in the fucking trash! I smack my face and my forehead aches!

I touch my forehead and massage it. I suddenly noticed this long sleeve and I knew this was not my clothes! I got up and looked down. My legs were exposed!

“You have such a morning, Raine,” he mocks and grins too.

I rolled my eyes and felt uncomfortable. “Where are we and who undressed me last night?! This is not my house!” I roared.

He stands up and I turn around quickly. Kai is a Don Juan. A man who is freaking delicious! He’s wearing a towel around his hips and that’s it!

My husband is my dream boy and I’ve been in love with him for years since the very first moment he held my hand and sang a song for me at the hospital before my brain operation.

He secretly visited me, especially since he’s my sponsor for my medications. Kai paid for everything! In my recovery days, he dropped three times and told me he'd support my college

“You seem to be really awake, Hon…” he whispers in my ears.

I almost jumped off because I was startled! That fresh breath combined with coffee is too much for me. I cough.

“Of course I am!" I talked back and turned around.

That was a cliché mistake, even in movies! I step back and yet I find myself cornered at the side of the bed. I stood still and acted.

“I said, where are we, Kai? I have no time for jokes and I’m busy at work. Let me have my clothes and I’ll call Macey to fetch me up,” I say, crossing my arms.

I need to create a safe space for myself. My heart is freaking the hell out of my chest. I can’t take his cuteness and seductive acts from him. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer. Kai smiled.

“It’s indeed dangerous for women wearing a man’s long sleeves. It can freak out any man,” he mumbles and grins.

I placed my hand on his chest and tried to keep a distance between us. The warmth of his body is affecting mine and I don’t want to have lewd thoughts and expectations from him!

It’s too much to bear for me! Kai moved his face closer and our eyes were locked to each other. Why can't I move and even say a word to stop him from seducing me?

I snap my senses in seconds and I place the back of my palm to cover my lips. He laughed when he saw what I did.

He still moves closer and his lips land on my palm. I still blush at what he did and I know he saw my ears turn red.

What the fuck! “You ask me to marry you so that you can conceive your heirs but you’re showing such embarrassed expressions; you’re interesting, Raine El Greco,” Kai says.

I looked down and signed him to let me go but he didn’t bulge and held me tighter instead. “If you really want to be a mother, then you should practice flirting with their future dad; isn’t that fair, hmm?” he whispers.

Kai’s expression is hard to believe because he’s an actor. It’s easy to act when he’s with me. I can’t show him my true feelings.

I will keep this inside of me and he’ll be clueless about the real reason why I approach him. I wrap my hands around him and grin.

“Honey, I think you’re being too hot at this early hour. Don’t you think you’re being too… daring hmm?” I replied.

I know what he’s trying to do. I won’t fall to his charms. He laughed, and I wasn’t expecting the next thing he did. He leaves a hickey around my neck. I bite my lower lip to make sure I won’t moan.

What the fuck! That electrifying and tingly feeling that awakens every cell of my body was good. It was fucking good! I touch my neck and act like I’m madder as I hide that delicious feeling that surges in me. Kai laughs.

“So cute,” Kai says, caressing my nose bridge and letting me go.

I didn’t expect that but I turned around right away. I touch my chest and I feel like my heart will jump off my chest because of how loud it’s beating.

I wonder if I can even last for months! He’s too good at putting butterflies in a girl’s stomach. I fixed the bed and found something that I could use to tie my hair.

I look around. This is not Raine’s room in the El Greco mansion. Is this his house? I turned around and saw a family portrait on the bedside table.

They look familiar but I can’t find them in the back of my head. Kai coughs and I look at him. He was sitting on the couch again.

“I already washed your clothes and they’re ready to wear. Go and take a shower before I’ll change my mind,” Kai says.

I avert my eyes, dash towards the bathroom and lock the door. I heard his laughter and I tapped my chest out of relief.

His eyes were seducing me and I know Kai saw how it affected me. I feel like he is toying with me as well. Oh girl!

I opened the sliding door, took off the sleeve and threw it in the sink. I will wash it after taking a bath. I pinch the button for warm water and from the ceiling, the water slides through my skin. I gasp and it feels super refreshing.

I chose to use his body wash and shampoo. After ten minutes, I went out and out on my clothes, which were even folded on the cabinet. I dry my hair, and I’m glad he has a blower here.

I wash his clothes and come out after that. I saw Kai holding my phone and he was staring at the screen. He looks at me as if he wants me to unlock it. “Just type your name, then x, and my name,” I remark. He looks confused, though.

“How?” he asks.

I walked closer and showed him. I was about to speak when his phone rang. I saw Emma’s name on the screen. He gave it to me and walked away. I guess he has no time to deal with her. I smirk devilishly. I’ve got an idea.
