Chapter 2: Strangely attracted

Kai's POV

I lock eyes with her. What is this sensation? It's like my stomach is filled with butterflies and my heart is racing! I've been in the spotlight for years and encountered many attractive women, but none have affected me like this.

I've embraced, kissed, and had intimate scenes with famous figures for work, but—damn! What's happening to me? I try to avert my gaze, but her eyes hold me like a magnet.

"Ms. Raine? Why do you look surprised? Have you forgotten that we're meeting Mr. Kai Montefalcon and his manager tonight?" her secretary asks.

She looks away, but I can't stop staring at her! Her long, wavy hair covers her chest. She also has voluptuous thighs that match her sexy butt.

Her straight, feathered brows and long eyelashes complement her amber eyes. Her pointed nose and heart-shaped lips give her an innocent and pristine appearance.

She looks at me again, and my heart pounds as if it wants to escape from my chest. Macey pulled the chair in front of us.

"We've placed the order as per your instructions, Ms. Macey. The food will be arriving shortly," George informed. Ms. Macey nodded as the door opened and the servers began placing the food on the table before leaving.

"Let's start eating and we can discuss afterwards," she said smoothly, her voice exuding pride yet remaining clear and smooth.

As we all began eating, the room fell silent. I felt as though I had eaten my tongue, unable to greet her. A few moments later, Ms. El Greco started on her dessert, crossing her legs as she held the plate of cake.

"I've had a change of heart," Ms. El Greco declared, looking unfazed.

Her team had been attempting to recruit me for El Greco Entertainment for months, as my contract had expired three months ago and I had taken a hiatus.

But that agency... my jaw clenched. I had no choice but to sign with them again. I couldn't afford to lose my job or the spotlight.

Raine suddenly smirked and stood up, lowering her body as she looked at me intensely. "Marry me. You can escape from your stalker and have a virgin bride. It's not bad, isn't it?" she said dominantly. She's serious!

Her words surprised the three of us. "I have no time for such a joke. Let’s go—" I started to say.

Raine put down her dessert and held my chin. "You have such a beautiful face, and you look healthy. You're perfect to be my child's father," she paused, and let go of me.

"Ma'am Raine! This joke is not good for this kind of transaction. Stick to the plan and what are you even doing?!" Macey scolded her. She was about to pull her boss back into her chair when Raine raised her hand to stop her.

"I think Macey is right, Ms. El Greco. Marriage is a thing but signing a contract for EGE is different," George commented.

I couldn't take my eyes off those amber-blazing eyes of hers. I felt like her eyes were on fire. That warmth and dominance it brought to me were something I craved. She is the first girl who tried to intimidate me and did not care about my title as a famous celebrity.

"Ma’am Raine, snap out of it!" Macey roars once again.

"I'm dead serious. At 28, I haven't been in a relationship and nobody has been intimate with me. El Greco Empire needs successors to carry on its legacy. The only deal you can make with me is a marriage, Mr. Montefalco. Take it or leave it. I never take no for an answer. I always get what I want," Raine asserted.

I can sense her determination and for some reason, I feel excited rather than annoyed. But for now, I'll play hard to get and see if she can corner me. I scoff.

"Ms. El Greco, I think you're being disrespectful. I'm an idol and an actor, not just someone you can marry because you're bored," I stated, using my acting skills to make her believe that I'm irritated and uninterested in her proposal.

"I am not joking or feeling bored at all. I've been extremely busy and I genuinely love my job. There's no chance of me getting bored. I must admit, I find your physique appealing, which is not a bad thing. After all, creating an heir requires intimacy, doesn't it?" Raine responded.

It seems she has caught on to my intentions of engaging in her game. She began to lay down her cards, determined to win. Should I play her game or what? I look at her in the eyes and smirk.

"You seem to have a keen eye for good genetics when it comes to selecting a father for your future offspring. But my answer is NO to your proposal, Ms. El Greco. Even if you were to offer me a billion dollars," I asserted.

Raine chuckled, leaving Macey and George speechless as they realized this conversation was solely between the two of us. She crossed her arms and her demeanor shifted.

I sensed a softening in her expression, which felt unsettling. The way she gazed at me seemed to hold profound admiration, but I quickly dismissed such thoughts.

'There's no way that she's one of my fans or stalkers. My eyes must have deceived me because I'm just drawn by them!'

She expressed, "I understand your passion and connections in the world you're living in, and I can provide you with the resources and influence to stay, unless you prefer returning to a situation that you find undesirable and disgusting."

Her words seemed to convey a deeper understanding than what had been openly discussed. My reaction was plain. I rose from my seat and grab her clothes, drawing her nearer while trying to ignore the pounding of my heart.

"What are you trying to tell me? Stop beating around the bushes and just speak! I have no time for your charades," I shouted. Raine smirked once more, making me feel as though I was the one being held captive. It was frustrating!

"You're trying to escape from Emma Harper. She's the real reason behind your desire to leave Harper Entertainment, isn't she? Unless you'd rather be an older woman's lover than a virgin like me, hmm? At least that way, you wouldn't be labeled a home wrecker," she sarcastically declared. I held onto her clothing tightly, trying to determine if she was bluffing.

She quietly approached me, lightly brushing her upper lip against mine before speaking. "As long as you're with me, she'll never be able to get close to you. You can still be a superstar and, in addition, the husband of the wealthiest woman on this continent. There's even more to gain..." Raine gazed into my eyes, seemingly trying to enchant me, unaware that she had already succeeded.

"You'll be able to teach an inexperienced woman in bed, and I'll give you everything you desire," she continued.

Her offer was alluring, but more than that, the warmth of her body against mine and her soft lips were driving me wild!
