Chapter 3

Author: Ade lfe
By the time Mathew and Aria came back, both held a bag in their hands. My father had already left.

Aria was blushing as they made their way towards me, trying so hard for me to see the deep red marks on her neck while she pretended to cover it up.

The tension between them was so thick I can’t help blaming myself how I never noticed.

If it was in the past I would have thrown myself between them, acting all jealous and insecure, and he would have blamed me for being petty and not having enough trust in them.

Seeing I was staring, Mathew pulled her closer into his arms. I just scoffed and grabbed the scroll before turning to leave.

I had barely reached the door when I was dragged back by Mathew, forcing me back so hard I nearly tumbled.

“Did you hear Aria calling you? Are you throwing a tantrum again? She’s your sister! I can’t believe you’re jealous of your own sister. Apologize to her now!” He snapped.

“Sister, look. Mathew and I went shopping for your mating ceremony.” She pushed forward the gift bag in her hand, spreading it open, and inside was a gown almost ruined and stained with lipstick. Her scent mixed with Mathew’s was coming from inside.

“I was worried it won’t fit you so I tried it on first; you’re not mad, are you?” She proudly waved it in front of me, tilting her neck to the side to let me see the red marks on her.

I shrugged, the corner of my mouth turning into a sneer. “I’m sure it would fit you better. Since you love collecting scraps so much, you can keep this one as well.”

Her proud smile turned sour. “How can you say that? My brother-in-law has spent a lot of money getting this customized to your taste. And you’re calling it scrap? Are you looking down on him because you’re a female alpha?”

Hearing this, Mathew angrily grabbed the box and tossed it at my face. I dodged and let it fall to the ground, and it fueled him even more.

He was about to yell when his phone suddenly rang; he stared at it for a minute before going away to pick it up.

“It hurt, doesn’t it?” Aria mocked, moving closer to me. “Despite being the alpha’s daughter, your chosen mate only wants me.”

Finally dropping her pitiful acts. “Tired of acting already?”

“You have no idea. Just you wait; I will make sure you get treated the same way I have been treated. You will never be his Luna.”

“What makes you think I will mate with him?”

Her eyes fluttered for a second before she laughed. “Oh please, like anyone else would mate with someone like you?”

Past-life me would’ve taken the bait. I’d have grabbed her by the collar, screamed in her face, demanded answers. And everyone would’ve watched me unravel like some rogue.

Not this time.

“Believe what you want; I am not mating with him. Your little dream of becoming his Luna won’t be fulfilled.”

Anger flared in her eyes and began to see it; she grabbed my hand and pressed it to her chest. “Olivia, please, there’s nothing going on between Mathew and me. I only see him as my brother-in-law.”

What was she doing?

Before I could think she let out a dramatic scream and pushed herself, tumbling down.

I gasped in shock as she fainted weakly against his arms. Being an omega, we have always assumed them to be weak and fragile, and she was clearly taking advantage of that.

“Sister!” Her wail cut through the hall. “I get it—you’re pissed I have Mathew, but you can’t just attack me!”

Mathew’s expression went from cold to murderous in a heartbeat. He closed the distance between us, a wall of fury and muscle.

“I never touched her.”

“Bullshit. Everyone knows you’ve been seething with jealousy for years.”

“I didn’t push her!”

“If anything happens to her, I will cancel our mating ceremony. Even if you kneel for three days and nights, I still won’t mate with you!”

“Mathew, don’t talk to her like that. She’s just hurting.” Aria’s voice went all breathy and wounded, fingers clutching weakly at Mathew’s jacket.

“If you keep this up, I will reject you.”

“How many times do I have to tell you I will never complete my mating ceremony with you?”

He laughed. “The whole neighboring pack knows you’ve been my woman for years now. Always throwing yourself at me. Who would possibly want a cheap Luna like that?”

“Your father might be powerful; it doesn’t excuse the fact his daughter is a whore. Tell me, which alpha in his right sense would marry you? Don’t tell me you’re hoping to marry that cripple weak alpha just to get back at me?”

“Does it hurt?”I shook my head, eating the fruit my husband had peeled while he kept massaging my legs.“Do you want anything else? I can make it.”“Are you trying to fatten me up?” I asked, frowning.“It’s for the baby.” Kale bit his lips, trying to hide his blush even as his ears turned deep red. It was cute, how a whole king was reduced to a foot massager for his wife.“So you love the baby more than me?” I snapped, placing my hand on my swollen belly.Kale smiled sheepishly and continued pressing gently along my calves. “No. I love the mother. I love her the most; she’s the most strong and perfect woman I have ever seen.”It’s been five months since our mating ceremony and my life has never been better. Some days I still wake up expecting the old pain—the burning pull of a broken mate bond, the sound of Mathew bringing another woman into our room, the cold emptiness after the baby was gone. Then I feel Kale’s arm around me and the steady kick under my ribs, and I remember that lif

My eyes widened in shock as I took a step back. “You’re—you’re the Lycan King?” This didn’t happen in my last life.Kale nodded slowly. The king’s envoy who had been sitting idle stood up to the shock of everyone, and several other guards stepped in, all kneeling in front of Kale.“We wish our king a happy marriage,” the envoy declared in a clear voice that carried through the hall. “May he live long and rule with strength. May the Goddess bless this bond and grant the Blood Moon Pack prosperity for a thousand years.”The guards echoed in one voice, “May our king live long. May his Luna stand beside him in power and peace. May no enemy ever break what the Goddess has joined.”The entire room dropped into stunned silence. Even my father looked shaken. Mathew, still half-dragged by the guards near the door, went completely still, his face draining of color.I stared at Kale, the man I had just accepted, the same man who had quietly sat in a wheelchair for years while the world mocked him

Mathew froze, his eyes widened in disbelief as his voice shook. “What?! What are you doing?”The other guests who had arrived early also turned to each other curiously.“Hasn’t she always wanted to be Mathew’s Luna?”“Did the alpha make a mistake?”“This has to be a mistake. How can she get engaged to the crippled alpha?”Seeing I wasn’t speaking, Mathew rushed over, yanking my hand away from Kale.“What are you doing! Father, she’s supposed to be my mate!” He yelled.Even his parents had to lower their heads in shame at their son’s behavior. He was never even liked that much by them; they have always favoured his elder brother, but because of me in our past lives he has gained a lot of recognition and favors.“I may be old but I’m not stupid. This is the mate my daughter has personally chosen.” My father announced.Kale stared at me in shock, hardly believing his ears. “Are—you’re serious?”Mathew’s fingers hanging at his sides suddenly trembled a little. He unconsciously clenched the

Kale POV.“You’re making a mistake, Alpha.” Rowan complained for the tenth time as he helped me with my outfit. “Why must you fight for a woman who doesn’t want you when you can have several? You’re a king for God’s sake.”How do I explain I had a dream about our last life and she had been killed by her so-called husband? He had ruined everything she had, including her pack. How can I—a king—sit and watch the person I love being ruined twice? And with the way Mathew was behaving with Aria proves just how right my dream was.“You don’t understand.”“I do understand. What I don’t understand is how you fell in love with a woman just because she saved you from drowning. You even went as far as hiding your identity and making yourself weak alpha of a small pack? For a woman?” He said.I forced back a smile as I recalled how she had jumped into the river, dressed as a male as she pulled me up from the water.Everyone had isolated me because they all thought I was a demon from being different

By the time I arrived at the venue, every decoration had already been done. I stepped in with my already prepared dowry.Mathew and Aria were already waiting in the room. The moment he saw me, he marched towards me in anger. “Why haven’t you asked your maid to take Aria’s things back to her private manor?”“Why do you have such a bad temper? Not only did you chase her out, you also asked the servants to stop serving her?” As soon as the words left his mouth, he grabbed me by the neck, forcing me to lower my head.“Bow and apologize to her now. Or else we will not be holding any ceremony today.”“Mathew, stop.” Aria faked concern as she pulled him away. “Don’t blame him, please; he’s just feeling sorry for me.” She whispered, rubbing her belly.I clenched my teeth angrily, staring at them. In my past life this exact scene had played out differently. Back then I had already been his mate for two years. Back then I had already given him everything—the title, the pack, my body, my loyalty.

  • Reborn I Choose the Lycan King   Chapter 5

For the next three days, I have been busy with my mating-ceremony preparation. Mathew also didn’t come see me in those three days, but Aria had gone out of her way to make sure I knew of everything he was doing for her.“Did you see? Mathew is busy with Aria while Olivia is busy burying herself with their mating preparations.”“I can’t believe she would marry him. He’s basically cheating on her with her sister.”“Wasn’t she adopted?”“I heard she’s pregnant.”Rumors like this would have sent me spiraling to my father in my past time. It was just life before I caught them sleeping together in our bed. They didn’t even bother covering up when I caught them. Aria looked at me with a smug expression as she urged Mathew on, saying how exciting it was for me to stand there and watch.I was so angry I had almost gone insane as I brought the matter to my father. He was just as annoyed as I was. They decided to send Aria away after forcing her to terminate the pregnancy.Being too soft-hearted,
