Chapter 2

Penulis: Dubhe
Outside the door, Felicia was eavesdropping on everything, and her eyes burned with resentment.

She hissed through gritted teeth, "Nadia, why does everyone love you? Whatever you want, I’ll make sure you don’t get it."

Then, she headed back to the living room. When she saw the seven brothers, she quickly hid away her spiteful expression and put on a hurt, hesitant look instead.

The moment they spotted Felicia, all seven of them swarmed around her.

"Felicia, what's wrong?" Kyle immediately noticed something was off with her.

Before Felicia could even say a word, her eyes turned red, which made all seven of them feel sorry for her.

"Did Nadia bully you again?"

"Felicia, don't be scared. We'll protect you."

A single tear rolled down Felicia's cheek at just the right moment. "She didn't bully me, it's just-"

"It's just that I overheard her saying she wants to marry Sebastian, and that you guys aren't good enough for her."

Kyle clenched his fists. "She really said that?"

Felicia nodded. "Yes. I can handle Ms. Sterling bullying me, but how could she say something like that about you guys? I feel so bad for you all."

"Don't worry. Let's go confront her."

The second I stepped out of my room, they blocked my path at the door.

The moment I saw them, my gaze turned cold. "What do you think you're doing?"

After being reborn, my hatred already seeped into my bones, yet my face remained eerily calm.

Felicia immediately stepped forward, her eyes teary, her voice deliberately choked up. "Ms. Sterling, the guys all know what you said. Just apologize."

I moved to walk past them, but Kyle blocked my path. "Nadia, are you really going to marry Sebastian?"

His tone was aggressive, as if I committed some unforgivable sin, and the displeasure in his eyes made it look like I cheated on him.

"Who I marry is none of your business. Do you actually think you're my husband?"

They were nothing more than candidates Grandpa lined up for me, and they had no right to interfere with anything I did.

Kyle's face darkened. "Nadia, I know you're just being stubborn. Deep down, you're dying to marry me."

He grew more confident as he kept talking. "Sebastian can't even have kids. If you marry him, you'll never have a satisfying sex life, and you'll probably end up so frustrated that you'll cheat with some random guy."

"Who the hell do you think you are?" Listening to Kyle insult me, I felt like I must have been blind in my past life to ever fall for a scumbag like him.

Without warning, tears started streaming down Felicia's face. "Ms. Sterling, it's fine if you bully me, but how can you talk to Kyle like that? He's your future husband."

The moment she started crying, everyone began attacking me.

"Nadia, you bully Felicia every single day. Apologize to her right now."

The next second, a sharp slap echoed through the air. All the fury I built up across two lifetimes came crashing down in my palm as I struck Felicia across the face, sending her stumbling into the wall.

That slap turned her fake tears into genuine shock, and it made Kyle’s eyes blaze with rage.

He rushed over to catch Felicia and held her protectively in his arms before glaring up at me. "Nadia, have you lost your mind? How dare you hit her!"

Watching him look so heartbroken over her while hating me, I was reminded of Grandpa's funeral in my past life.

Back then, I was kneeling before Grandpa's portrait, my heart completely numb. They actually threatened me, saying that if I did not transfer the Sterling Group’s assets to them during the funeral, they would desecrate Grandpa’s body and scatter his ashes.

I could not bear the thought of him not resting in peace even after death, so I had no choice but to agree.

And Felicia, that snake, took advantage of my dazed state and deliberately knocked over the candles in front of Grandpa’s portrait. The fire instantly licked up toward Grandpa's portrait, and I instinctively lunged to put it out.

In the chaos, Felicia fell on her own, yet she shrieked, "Ms. Sterling! I know you resent me, but you shouldn't have pushed me!"

Just like this moment, Kyle rushed over without hesitation and helped her up.

Right in front of all the guests at the memorial service, he pointed at me and shouted, "Nadia, you vicious woman! You're causing a scene at a funeral and even pushing Felicia? Get on your knees and apologize to her right now! Immediately!"

The way his face twisted with anger as he protected Felicia overlapped perfectly with my past life.

But now, I felt nothing. There were no ripples of emotion, only a cold, piercing hatred.

Sebastian laughed heartily. "Who said I couldn't stand?""Huh? What?! Then why have you been in a wheelchair this whole time?"He replied, "It was fake."I was puzzled. "But why?""I wanted to get your attention.""Why would you want to get my- Wait, do you have feelings for me?"In a flash of clarity, I thought of an unlikely possibility.Sebastian smiled mischievously. "Yeah. You're only just figuring that out?""Why didn't you say something before?"Sebastian explained, "Because you were hell-bent on being my sworn enemy and wanted nothing more than to completely defeat me.""Then doesn't that mean you've already lost to me now?""Yeah," he said softly, "and I lost willingly."His handsome face, paired with that bold, confident smile, left me staring for a moment."What's wrong? Stunned by how good-looking I am?" Sebastian's face suddenly loomed closer to mine. The distance between us became so small that I could see every detail of his face clearly. I remembered anoth

The lilies by the door did not escape Felicia's anger either, and she ripped them apart, tearing off petals and leaves alike. After doing all that, she finally felt a bit better, and she stared at my door with venom in her eyes."A party? I'm going too, to see whose side they're on!"The moment Felicia entered the guest room, a sack was thrown over her head."Got you.""Stay still, or we won't be nice about it.""Yeah, otherwise we won't hold back."Felicia was dazed for a moment when the sack went over her head, but when she heard their voices, she immediately realized what was happening. She tried to speak, but the drug already kicked in, and she lost the strength to talk."Nadia, weren't you so high and mighty? Now that you're like this, can you still talk back?"Hearing my name, Felicia instinctively struggled.Suddenly, a fist landed in Felicia's stomach. The pain left her speechless while her already foggy brain became even more disoriented.Felicia's consciousness was

I looked at the seven men standing in front of me, every one of them clearly unwilling to leave.I said coldly, "You have one day to pack up and leave. If I see any of you in this house tomorrow morning, I'll have security throw you and all your stuff out."After dropping that statement, I turned and left. The seven brothers were left staring at each other, confused."Kyle, what should we do?"As soon as those words were spoken, the other six all turned to look at Kyle. The latter's face darkened as he fell into thought."Kyle, say something!""If we get kicked out, how are we supposed to swindle Nadia's fortune?""Exactly, Kyle. Nadia used to be so crazy about you. How can she bear to kick you out now?""It's all that Sebastian's fault for showing up out of nowhere. If it weren't for him, we'd already be spending Nadia's money by now."Kyle cut off their complaints and shouted, "Enough! Right now, I need to figure out a way to stay here. Only by staying can we continue enjo

When the event ended, Sebastian offered to drive me back to the Sterling family estate, saying it was his duty as my fiancé. I could not help but be touched by his thoughtfulness. When we reached the front door, I invited him in. "Seb, do you want to come inside for a bit?"I looked at his perfectly sculpted profile and thought to myself that aside from his illness and condition, there was nothing about this man that was not flawless.Sebastian seemed tempted but ultimately declined.I did not push him. "Alright then, see you next time."The moment I walked through the door, I ran straight into Kyle.He blocked my path in the doorway and said, "Nadia, you're finally back. I've been waiting for you."Meeting Kyle's gaze, I got the feeling he was up to no good. I did not bother playing nice and replied coldly, "Move. I'm going to my room."Kyle's first instinct was to get angry, but he forced himself to hold it back. "Nadia, I know you don't actually like Sebastian. Now, I'm givi

The room instantly erupted with heated discussion.Someone whispered, "What's going on? Wasn't she supposed to choose from the seven brothers?""Aren't the Irving family and the Sterling family sworn enemies? How could Nadia and Sebastian end up together?"I ignored the chatter around us and pushed Sebastian's wheelchair forward until we reached the front. Then I picked up the prepared marriage contract and carefully signed my name, stroke by stroke. After that, I handed the pen to Sebastian, who smiled at me faintly before signing his name with a bold flourish. When the signed contract was displayed on the big screen, the crowd exploded with even more intense discussion."This really is a marriage contract! The Irving family and the Sterling family are actually forming an alliance!""Then what about those seven guys just now," The speaker's meaningful tone instantly made the seven brothers the focus of everyone's attention. The seven brothers standing nearby were clearly caught
