The soft sounds of a car halting could be heard in front of the apartment building. As a sports car pulled over, the door was pushed open, and a beautiful leg covered in sneakers stepped out of the car.

Looking up at the building with a bright smile on her face, Odessa was holding a large box in her hands, which was that of a dress. As she headed up the stairs leading to the apartment.

The door was slightly open, and she knew it was unlike Lucas to have the door unlocked, especially now when there were lots of foreigners in the pack, now that the mating ceremony was tomorrow.

Closing the door behind her, she set the dress aside on one of the expensive-looking sofas in the room, pulling off her shoes to walk on the wooden floor.

She headed up the stairs where she knew her boyfriend would be. “Lucas, I'm back with the dress,” she called out, but got no answer. Walking up the stairs, she could hear voices coming from Lucas's room.

The door was slightly open, and as she was stepping towards the door, she could hear the conversation.

“I'm sure you love me more than you love her.”

The feminine voice asked with mischief evident in her tone. Odessa stood there in shock. She would recognize the female's voice, even in her sleep, no matter what.

“Of course, Emma. After I get rid of her, there'll be no reason not to be together with you, since everyone will think I'm getting over her by mating with you.”

“We've been together before. She even claimed to be your mate. Lucas, just reject her already.”

Odessa's body began to tremble, tears welling up in her eyes as she heard that. She had done everything for Lucas in the three years they'd been together as lovers.

Although they were mates, they were waiting till it was his coronation, which was along with the mating ceremony before she was mated to him. She was in shock now.

See, despite everything she had done for Lucas, he was in there telling her stepsister he loved her more than Odessa. Her body shook violently as she stretched out her hand to push the door backward. Tears stung her eyes and blurred her vision as she stepped into the room.

“You...” Her voice trembled as she pointed towards both of them. “How could you do this to me?”

Tears started rolling down her cheeks freely as she could see her boyfriend of three years getting out of bed wearing his trousers, but Emma was still in bed, the sheets covering her.

“Did you have a hint of shame at all? Emma...” she choked on her words, getting angrier and angrier as the seconds passed and a smug smile appeared on Emma's face.

Out of anger, Odessa stormed towards Emma, dragging her out of bed and pushing her onto the bedside table. Lucas rushed over to Emma hurriedly.

“Are you all right, sweetheart?” he asked, looking at Emma, who was whimpering as she looked at her shoulders. But Odessa could already tell it was fake.

“How could you do this to me? Lucas, I have done nothing but love you unconditionally with all my heart, and this is how you repay me.”

“I have never wronged you or done anything bad to you, Lucas,” Odessa said in a raging mess of tears. Her mascara was starting to smudge as the tears flowed freely down her cheeks.

“Tomorrow is supposed to be our marriage, your coronation, and our mating day. But here you are in bed with my so-called stepsister.”

“What do you think everyone would say to you?”

“Everyone?” Lucas threw his head back in laughter as he left Emma, his gaze focused on the other woman in front of him, slowly heading towards her.

“Do you think anyone would care what you say? They all see you as my puppet, and I can control you at any time, won't they think it's just a glitch that you're declaring I'm in bed with your sister?”

He said, mockery heavy in his tone, as her back finally hit the wall, having nowhere to move since he was in front of her, and the wall had trapped her from behind.

“Why, Lucas, why?” Odessa asked, trying to stop the tears. But it only grew worse.

“Oh, you want to know why? Do you think I ever loved you from the start?” he asked her, his voice cold and filled with expressions Odessa didn't want to lay her fingers on to depict at all.

“You are of no good use to me, Odessa. What would a lowly omega like you do for a strong alpha like me? Weaklings like you shouldn't even be in my presence, not to talk of being my mate.”

He grabbed her chin harshly, making her look at him with tears in her eyes.

“You can't be of any good to me once I become Alpha.”

“But your sister will be. She will be a great Luna and will be able to rule trash like you.”

Odessa shook her head negatively as she tried to say something.

“I was already planning on a way to get rid of you, but I didn't know how. Since all these days you've been gone, I'll be able to mate with her freely tomorrow.”

He said, a devious grin on his face, and she didn't want to think about whatever intentions he had.

“Please, Lucas...” she tried pleading, her body trembling.

From the corner of her eyes, she could see Emma moving around, but she didn't know why exactly she was doing that.

“Please think about all the times we've had together. All the great memories. You can't let that just slip away just because of Emma.”

She tried talking sense into his head, but he ignored her as he looked back at Emma with a questioning look on his face.

“It's fine, sweetheart. It's ready,” she said, waving the syringe in her hand slightly.

Odessa couldn't tell what the content in the syringe contained, but she knew it was bad news for her. She needed to talk some sense into Lucas's head. He wasn't going to kill her just for her sister's pleasure and selfish desire to take over the pack with him.

“Please, Lucas, you can't do this. She's just trying to manipulate you.”

“I know well of all her plans, so I'm not being manipulated. Let this all be easy, and let's get rid of you quickly.”

He grabbed her hands to keep her in place, but she struggled against him. She wasn't going to let them inject whatever that was into her. She didn't want to die, even though what seemed to be her death was standing in front of her.

“No need to say anything, Odessa. Just die peacefully, and I'll take care of everything. You will never have the chance to run.”

As Emma said that, a needle pierced into her neck, and she could feel something rapidly flowing into her veins.

She felt herself go weak, and everything around her started to blur out. The last thing she saw before she blacked out was Emma's wicked smile, and she was engulfed in total darkness.

  • Reborn Luna:Her Second Chance Mate    Chapter 11

“I want to have breakfast with everyone in the pack house.” Odessa said to George as she walked into the elevator with a bright smile. It had been a week since she got married to Desmond. And she had been the happiest she had ever been in her present and past life combined. “Are you sure, my Luna? You can just have breakfast on your floor since my Alpha is at the border.” “It'll be nice to see you eating with them after all these days,” George said. But she only ignored him and headed towards the main dining hall, which was already teeming with people. As everyone saw her, most of them bowed, and the others ignored her like they didn't even notice her presence, whereas they did. Odessa wasn't expecting such cold treatment. But she wasn't really shocked because she knew most women wouldn't like her for being Luna. “Would you like to ret

There was silence between the two as Odessa wiped off the wounds on his hands. It was like he got into a battle with some animals, and he wasn't healing on time. She quietly cleaned them, expecting him to tell her where he got the wounds from, but they both kept mute. “So you won't tell me what caused these bruises and wounds?” She said to him, making him look at her. But he buried his head, looking down at the floor. “Desmond,” she called, and he slowly looked up at her. “Answer me, will you?” “You'll just leave like the rest of them if I tell you.” He replied calmly, and at the same time, anger hinted in his tone. “They haven't even learned who I am, and they all ran from me. How am I sure you won't do the same when you find out?” “Who's telling you that nonsense?” She looked at him with a raised brow and a frown. “Do I look like someone who will judge you for anything?” “But you do look like someone who can beat me up for anything.” He mumbled, and for the first time

  • Reborn Luna:Her Second Chance Mate    Chapter 9

After the stressful day at the wedding hall, Odessa was finally able to go back to the room. Desmond was still down, talking to some people. And he had asked her to go take some rest if she wanted to. Odessa was stunned to see the two beds in the room gone and now replaced by a king-sized bed, which looked like it had just been neatly set. “Looks like you've really found your way deep into his heart for him to pick up you two sleeping together after marriage and not apart,” Aria chuckled teasingly. “Every husband and wife sleeps in the same bed. He'll be really dumb not to let that happen.” Odessa rolled her eyes as she headed into the bathroom, pulling off her clothes as she could. “Says the one who just enjoyed his kiss and couldn't deny it.” Aria teased again, and Odessa just let out a sigh of defeat. This would never be the end of the discussion of that kiss. “Okay, that's enough, Aria. It's embarrassing enough.” As she stepped out of the bathroom after cleaning up, sh

  • Reborn Luna:Her Second Chance Mate    Chapter 8

Odessa stood in front of the large floor-to-ceiling mirror in the main living room on their floor, not believing the day they had picked for the wedding had arrived. She still thought this was all a sarcastic comment till she saw the guests start arriving since the previous day. “Is this tight enough, my lady?” the seamstress asked her. She was helping Odessa into her red dress, which was the tradition of the pack. Any woman who was to be married to her husband-to-be would wear the red dress. “Or do you want me to—” “I'm going to choke. Please loosen it a little,” Odessa said, her voice just above a whisper, and the seamstress immediately did as she was asked. “That's much better.” Odessa sighed before looking at her reflection in the mirror. The dress was adorned with thousands of crystals, and the dress was very light and fitted her shape perfectly. Her hair was up in a majestic bun with red crystals and jewels hung in her hair. She looked more elegant than she usually did

Odessa sat opposite Desmond at the dining table for breakfast. The only sounds that could be heard were the faint connection of their cutleries and plates. Besides that, there was nothing but silence in the room till Odessa spoke up. “Alpha Devon told me I'm only here to give you an heir.” As she said that, he paused. After a few seconds, he continued like he did not hear what she said, and it annoyed her, but she didn't say a word and just started eating again. “So what do you think about it?” He finally said, making her look up at him with a raised brow. “What do you think about having an heir for me?” “Well, I don't have any bad thoughts towards it.” She replied, sipping from her glass of juice, her gaze focused on him. “But what's in it for me?” Her question shocked him, and for the first time since she arrived, she saw him smirk. “What's in it for you? You're a pawn in Alpha Devon's game, so you're only here so he can get his rewards.” He pointed out, and that made h

A scream escaped her lips as she saw that, and the lights were immediately flicked on. Desmond was standing there at the kitchen island, staring at her with a raised brow. “What were you so scared about?” he asked her, looking down at her fingers, which were being twisted in front of her. “I'm sorry. I was scared.” She let out a sigh of relief before looking around the kitchen, which looked beautiful. The kitchen island was in the middle of the room, a part of the wall glass from wall to ceiling, overlooking the forest behind the pack house. Although it was still raining outside, the outside was brightly lit with lamps all around. “If you're hungry, you can just make yourself something to eat.” He was oddly calm from the rumors she had heard about him. She stared right at him and didn't move from the spot she was, and this made him look in her direction again. “I would kill you on the spot if I wanted to kill you without you knowing, but it'll only be useless to me,” he said.
