LOGINOdessa walked into the pack house, which was strangely bigger on the outside than it was on the inside. It looked so beautiful.
And she wondered how they allowed this many people in the pack house. “The ground floor is always very busy. Please follow me, my lady.” George said, gesturing towards the large stairs, which were the only part those in the pack house weren't walking through. “The pack house is open to just an amount of people. Most of them live in the pack house's spare apartments in the pack compound,” George explained as he led her up the next floor. “This is the important nobles' floor.” He said, turning to take her up the next flight of stairs leading to the next floor, which was the Delta's. The visit then was that of the Beta before reaching the floor where he told her all Alpha duties took place. “You won't see anyone on this floor unless ordered by the Alpha,” he explained before taking her up to the top floor. And she was panting already. “Well, we took the road so I would explain in detail to you, my lady. The elevator is always open to use.” Odessa stared at him in disbelief. He could always show her the floors later. He had her walk that way up after hours in the car seated without doing any leg movements. “This last floor is for you and Alpha Desmond alone. It has all the necessary facilities along with three rooms. The last one belongs to you and Alpha Desmond.” “I have to share a room with him?” she asked in shock, and he nodded gently, making her stunned. She expected them to have separate rooms and barely even interact with each other because of the character he was rumored to have. “You didn't tell me you'll be returning today.” A voice came from behind, making her turn to look at the speaker. There stood a man, his hands jammed in his pockets and his gaze not leaving Odessa. She could feel his aura in the room engulfing her like it would choke her to death anytime soon. And there wasn't a single hint of expression on his face. He looked at her deadly and expressionlessly. There was an undeniable connection between both of them that she couldn't lay her hands on. That was it. Alpha Desmond. George immediately bowed as he turned to look at him. But Odessa didn't. She just stared at him. And he did the same, ignoring George's greeting. “So you are the one they say is worthy of being my bride.” He strode towards her, only stopping a few steps away from her. “You don't look like it.” “Are you the one who judges a book by its cover?” She cut him off, which stunned him, and it stunned George, who was standing next to them also. “You don't seem fit to be my Alpha either.” “A very good thing to say from an omega hiding behind her father's Beta status. You stink of omega genes.” He shot at her, walking past her before heading towards the room. She wasn't really stunned by his remark. She had prepared herself for his brutal words. But it still did sting a little. “The kitchen and every other thing you might need to prevent you from leaving the floor if you don't want to,” George explained, and she nodded. “The maids already arranged your bags in the dressing room. Enjoy your stay here.” Odessa walked back into the room where she saw Desmond standing in between, looking at the two beds in the room like he was inspecting something. The two beds were joined together by a headboard and bedside tables. “It's your side of the room. I don't want to see you here, and I don't want to talk to you either.” “Wouldn't love it any other way,” she replied, walking towards the dressing room to change into more comfortable clothes. “I think he's starting to see we aren't someone to mess around with. You're an omega and he's an Alpha. That doesn't mean he can bully you as he likes,” Aria said as she watched Odessa pull out all the pins, putting her hair in place. “And I don't understand why you had to style your hair this stylishly because you want to come over to this boring pack.” “It doesn't seem boring at all except for their Alpha. It barely rained back at home, and here we have rain almost every time. As he said, I think I love this pack more even though I haven't seen what it has to offer.” Odessa said, tying her hair up in a loose bun. “There's no need to see that when you have all you need here on the floor. It has been made easier,” Aria said with a small smile. “Well, I still won't love staying here all day. I'll have to go down one day to at least make some friends.” Odessa replied, and she started to arrange her bags in the free dressing room, which she could assume was hers only. After thirty minutes of arranging the room, she finally stepped out of the room to see it was all empty. Not like she was expecting him to stay in the room anyway. She headed to her bed, sitting on it with a sigh before looking around the room, taking in the dark interior. It looked like the only part of the room that had a little bit of life was her side. His was plain and empty. “How can someone be this plain and boring?” Aria whispered. “He has to live up to his reputation of being the most ruthless Alpha. You don't expect someone like him to be fun, did you?” Odessa replied, leaning into her bed, looking up at the ceiling like she was expecting something to pop up. She remembered Alpha Devon talking about giving him an heir. How was she supposed to give him an heir if they both slept on separate beds? And all she also needed was to get her group of trusted people together. Of course, there would always be a group of people who were considered outcasts and were on the verge of going rogue that she'll recruit with her. “Getting your men from another man's pack is risky. Really risky,” Aria pointed out, but she was very calm about it. “I'm not going over to his Beta to ask him to betray Desmond. And besides, they aren't doing any harm to him unless he wants to be harmed by attacking first.” Odessa replied. Aria just shrugged gently before going back to slumber. Odessa could hear the soft thunder from outside as the rain continued to pour down onto the earth. She was pretty scared of lightning, but as long as the room wasn't out of lights, she could cope with it. She knew she needed to face her fears now that she was in a pack with constant rain. Odessa remained indoors till it was nighttime, and it was still raining outside. She decided to go to the kitchen and prepare something to eat. She didn't know if Desmond would also eat whatever she made. But why else would he have a kitchen on his floor unless he didn't want anyone cooking for him? She walked towards the kitchen, pushing the door open gently. The whole room was dark, and she struggled to find the switch. Suddenly, there was a loud boom accompanied by lightning outside. In what seemed like the middle of the room, she saw dangerous red eyes flash. There was silence between the two as Odessa wiped off the wounds on his hands. It was like he got into a battle with some animals, and he wasn't healing on time. She quietly cleaned them, expecting him to tell her where he got the wounds from, but they both kept mute. “So you won't tell me what caused these bruises and wounds?” She said to him, making him look at her. But he buried his head, looking down at the floor. “Desmond,” she called, and he slowly looked up at her. “Answer me, will you?” “You'll just leave like the rest of them if I tell you.” He replied calmly, and at the same time, anger hinted in his tone. “They haven't even learned who I am, and they all ran from me. How am I sure you won't do the same when you find out?” “Who's telling you that nonsense?” She looked at him with a raised brow and a frown. “Do I look like someone who will judge you for anything?” “But you do look like someone who can beat me up for anything.” He mumbled, and for the first time
After the stressful day at the wedding hall, Odessa was finally able to go back to the room. Desmond was still down, talking to some people. And he had asked her to go take some rest if she wanted to. Odessa was stunned to see the two beds in the room gone and now replaced by a king-sized bed, which looked like it had just been neatly set. “Looks like you've really found your way deep into his heart for him to pick up you two sleeping together after marriage and not apart,” Aria chuckled teasingly. “Every husband and wife sleeps in the same bed. He'll be really dumb not to let that happen.” Odessa rolled her eyes as she headed into the bathroom, pulling off her clothes as she could. “Says the one who just enjoyed his kiss and couldn't deny it.” Aria teased again, and Odessa just let out a sigh of defeat. This would never be the end of the discussion of that kiss. “Okay, that's enough, Aria. It's embarrassing enough.” As she stepped out of the bathroom after cleaning up, sh
Odessa stood in front of the large floor-to-ceiling mirror in the main living room on their floor, not believing the day they had picked for the wedding had arrived. She still thought this was all a sarcastic comment till she saw the guests start arriving since the previous day. “Is this tight enough, my lady?” the seamstress asked her. She was helping Odessa into her red dress, which was the tradition of the pack. Any woman who was to be married to her husband-to-be would wear the red dress. “Or do you want me to—” “I'm going to choke. Please loosen it a little,” Odessa said, her voice just above a whisper, and the seamstress immediately did as she was asked. “That's much better.” Odessa sighed before looking at her reflection in the mirror. The dress was adorned with thousands of crystals, and the dress was very light and fitted her shape perfectly. Her hair was up in a majestic bun with red crystals and jewels hung in her hair. She looked more elegant than she usually did
Odessa sat opposite Desmond at the dining table for breakfast. The only sounds that could be heard were the faint connection of their cutleries and plates. Besides that, there was nothing but silence in the room till Odessa spoke up. “Alpha Devon told me I'm only here to give you an heir.” As she said that, he paused. After a few seconds, he continued like he did not hear what she said, and it annoyed her, but she didn't say a word and just started eating again. “So what do you think about it?” He finally said, making her look up at him with a raised brow. “What do you think about having an heir for me?” “Well, I don't have any bad thoughts towards it.” She replied, sipping from her glass of juice, her gaze focused on him. “But what's in it for me?” Her question shocked him, and for the first time since she arrived, she saw him smirk. “What's in it for you? You're a pawn in Alpha Devon's game, so you're only here so he can get his rewards.” He pointed out, and that made h
A scream escaped her lips as she saw that, and the lights were immediately flicked on. Desmond was standing there at the kitchen island, staring at her with a raised brow. “What were you so scared about?” he asked her, looking down at her fingers, which were being twisted in front of her. “I'm sorry. I was scared.” She let out a sigh of relief before looking around the kitchen, which looked beautiful. The kitchen island was in the middle of the room, a part of the wall glass from wall to ceiling, overlooking the forest behind the pack house. Although it was still raining outside, the outside was brightly lit with lamps all around. “If you're hungry, you can just make yourself something to eat.” He was oddly calm from the rumors she had heard about him. She stared right at him and didn't move from the spot she was, and this made him look in her direction again. “I would kill you on the spot if I wanted to kill you without you knowing, but it'll only be useless to me,” he said.
