Damien’s POV

Pain was the only thing that kept me human these days.

Every breath felt like someone was driving nails into my ribs, but I took it anyway… because pain meant I wasn’t dead yet.

A week. That was how long it had been since the crash, so that meant seven days of morphine, bandages, and the stench of hospital disinfectant.

When the car stopped spinning that night, I saw death for a second.

When the darkness consumed me, I thought that was it.

And that was supposed to be it.

Now I was here, limping through the front gates of my mansion, alive but barely, walking with crutches.

The guards rushed to open the door as I stepped in.

“Sir!” Martha’s voice broke through the fog. She came running down the steps, eyes wide and wet. “You…oh my God, you’re awake!”

“Alive,” I corrected. “Not awake. Awake implies I slept.”

Her hand flew to her chest. “We didn’t think you’d—”

“I’m fine,” I cut in, though we both knew that was a lie.

Every step I took felt like my bones were on fire.

Third person The boardroom of Sinclair Industries was buzzing with speculation. A few members were already present in the room, seated around the long mahogany table. Two board members were at the far end leaned toward each other, their voices low but edged with intrigue.“Did you hear anything?” one whispered. “Not a clue. The message just said urgent board meeting at noon. You think it’s about the merger with Apex?” The other shook his head. “No. Damien's been silent about that for weeks. This feels… different.”“I wonder what's this about that then?”Before another word could pass between them, the double doors at the far end opened.Damien Sinclair stepped in.His presence alone was enough to cause silence across the whole room. He was dressed in a sharp black suit that mirrored his authority and he moved with deliberate confidence till he was at the center of the room. Every gaze followed him as he walked to the head of the table. He didn’t sit, yet as his sharp gaze scann

  • Reborn: The president Contracted Wife    Chapter 95

Damien’s POVThe morning light was soft and warm, spilling through the curtains and into the room. I woke to the unfamiliar sight of the mansion, it wasn't mine. And then I felt her… Bianca. No, Lyra. She was there beside me, her presence a steady warmth. And then, it hit me. We had real sex last night, not any sex plays or commands, I had sex with her. I turned over to her, watching her sleep for a moment, she was even cuter when she was asleep. After a while of staring at her, I exhaled slowly, careful not to wake her as I pulled away a little.“Morning.” My voice was rough, barely more than a whisper, but it made her stir. Her eyes opened, slow and soft, and the faintest smile curved her lips.“Morning too…”“Do you enjoy your sleep?” I asked, my smile widening.“Yeah…didn’t think we’d get one like this,” she said, her voice husky from sleep.I let the words hang for a second. She was right, I didn't think we'd have something like this and I'm pretty sure neither did she. I

Bianca’s POVI let the hot water flow down my body, tingling in my nipples, and down drops, slipping into my entrance. After a long day like today, a warm shower was always the perfect way to calm my nerves a little. The steam still clung to my skin when I stepped out of the bathroom. I tied my robe tighter and padded barefoot across the marble floor, the cold biting against my skin, grounding me.The house was quiet… the kind of quiet that made you aware of your own heartbeat. I poured myself a cup of coffee, the smell curling through the air, a bitter, yet familiar smell. My life had been like this for months now, the peace th, the quiet… and to be honest, I liked it. Just then, the doorbell rang. The sharp sound sliced through the silence. “Alex,” I called out, my tone sharp. My butler appeared almost instantly from the hallway, keeping his posture straight and firm and his expression neutral.“Yes, ma’am?”“Check who it is,” I said, setting my cup down.He nodded and disapp

Bianca’s POV(Lyra) I leaned back in the car seat, the low hum of the engine the only sound breaking the silence. City lights streaked past the window, the sites brought up memories I was trying too hard to forget. Damien’s face kept replaying in my mind. The way he’d frozen when our eyes met back at the auction. That shock and that confusion, the flicker of guilt he couldn’t hide.I had imagined how oddly satisfying it would be seeing all those emotions playing on his face. But reality wasn’t as neat as imagination.Seeing him again had ripped something raw open inside me.He was engaged now.He just moved on, like I was some passing shadow that never mattered. My fingers clenched around the edge of my bag, knuckles whitening as the thought burned through me.But I pushed it down. That pain wasn’t supposed to exist anymore. Bianca didn’t exist anymore. Bianca died the day I walked away from him. Now there was only Lyra Elton… the woman who rebuilt herself from ashes and built an

  • Reborn: The president Contracted Wife    Chapter 92

Damien’s POV The crowd was still buzzing after the final gavel struck, but I didn’t hear a damn thing anymore. My mind was locked on one name flashing on the board in bold letters… Lyra Elton.Who the hell was she?The announcer’s voice echoed, “Sold! To the lady at the back,” but my pulse drowned it out. I rose from my seat before Nina could say a word, my eyes scanning every face in the room. I didn’t know what I was searching for exactly, but, basically a face of woman I've never seen, or maybe I have… Nina’s voice trailed behind me, her tone sharp. “Damien! Damien, where are you going?”I ignored her, weaving through the crowd. The talisman had been my pursuit for months, but now, it wasn’t about the damn object anymore. It was about the person who took it from me.My feet carried me through the crowd, brushing past men in suits and women on their gowns. I moved with purpose, ignoring the occasional murmurs as people recognized me.My eyes were scanning anyone who looked r
