The missing doctor

last update publish date: 2026-11-03 01:58:56

For a moment, I thought the system had failed. I nearly had a heart attack right there.

Without the system, everyone from the community center would descend on my house. They’d knock down the fence within a few hours and take everything I’d stockpiled. And then I would die in their hands just like in the last apocalypse.

“System, why is it dark here?”

[System analyzing.]

Relief filled me when I heard the robotic voice.

  • Reborn With Zombie Control Chips    Not the talk

“I’d appreciate it if we didn’t talk about it,” I said. “I’m sorry for invading your privacy. I just wanted to make him jealous.” “There’s nothing to be sorry for,” he said. “I enjoyed it. I wish we could keep running to him, so you can make him jealous like that again.” I chuckled and tried to act like I wasn’t affected by that but my cheeks were seriously heating up. “It won’t happen again.” “Why not? Do you hate me?” “Don’t be ridiculous. Of course I don’t hate you.” “So, you love me?” I rolled my eyes and tried to hide the smile on my face. “Stop teasing me.” “We’re in the apocalypse. There’s no wasting time. If you want something, you get it.” My body was burning and I was started to feel horny. “Can we talk about zombies instead?” Tom was quiet for a while. “No. I like this topic.” Tom said. I could feel his eyes on me. Driving was starting to feel complicated. I was thankful when I spotted a bunch of zombies on the road. Perfect. A good distraction. When I saw a cor

  • Reborn With Zombie Control Chips    The disobedient zombie

After what happened at the clinic, I couldn’t stop thinking about that man and his questions. It seemed they were looking for the chips. I was torn between hoping they survived and wishing they didn’t. I felt so guilty when I wished those men were no more, so they wouldn’t relay the information about my identity to others. Tom had interacted with them the longest. If they went to the community center, they would know where to find us. I couldn’t focus due to fear. Now I needed to find more mutated zombies and to get the chips off the others. According to my survival system, the neurological activity in the mutated zombies I’d found was abnormal, and the control probability had been only twenty-three percent. If there were more creatures like that, I needed to know what to do in case they attacked us. So, the next morning, I decided to test the chips properly. Tom was against the idea but he knew I couldn’t be stopped. Claire offered to join me but I refused. “Because you don’t

[Analysis Incomplete.][Please go inside to establish the cause.]At least the system was working. Leo just stared ahead as the car went in. He was probably wondering if the person carrying him was crazy, seeing how I looked like I was talking to myself. As soon as we entered the garage, I left Leo with Tom and went down to the generator room. I checked it and realized the fuel inside was done. I was so relieved. I grabbed some fuel cans and refilled the generator before restarting it.When it roared to life, I smiled. We were okay but we really needed to stock up mo

“I don’t know what to say,” I told him. “Don’t say anything,” he said, opening the passenger door. “Let’s unload everything.” I was glad for that. Claire and Jolie joined us as we unloaded the supplies and took them to the relevant store. After everything was stored, I went to the top floor balcony with a loaded sniper rifle and shot at some zombies outside. [Reward: 100 Survival points.] [You have accumulated over 1000 survival points.] [Overhead Dome Fortification Function Unlocked.] [Should system begin Fortification?] “Yes,” I yelled out so fast. I heard a sound coming from above my head. To the naked eye, there was nothing but the sky. [Fortress fortified with unbreakable Dome.] “Yes,” I screamed while doing a happy dance. Now no aircraft could land in my compound or attack my base. I was so happy I went to the cellar and grabbed a bottle of wine to celebrate. After being around people for so long, I needed some alone time. I drank wine while listening to some music.

  • Reborn With Zombie Control Chips    I'm starting to like you

How do you kill an overpowered zombie that breathes fire?I wanted to skip the mission but the 300 survival points made me pause as the zombie continued chasing us. Tom suddenly stopped. “Stop,” he told me. I narrowed my eyes in confusion but stopped anyway. “What is it?”He opened his bag and handed me something that looked like a grenade. “Is that a...?”He nodded without waiting for me to finish. “Here, remove the safety option like this.”The zombie breathed out fire again and it almost caught my leg. I felt it heat up my leg. I grabbed the grenade from Tom and we continued running, going faster this time. When we had gone a good distance away, I threw the grenade at the zombie.[Mutated zombie killed.][Reward: 300 Survival points.]I checked my stats and realized I had 500 points. Now I needed more 500.The noise from running had attracted some zombies. I turned my gun and started shooting their heads one by one. I don’t know how many I killed but by the time I was done, many

  • Reborn With Zombie Control Chips    Try killing a mutated zombie

“Are you sure about this?” Tom asked when I told him about my intention to look for mutated zombies.According to the system, killing mutated zombies could give me more points. I wanted to install dome like protection above the house to deter drones or aircraft but I needed thousands of points for that.Putting my chips on stronger zombies would also be more advantageous to me than using normal ones that could easily be killed by normal humans.“Yeah,” I told him. “I can’t stop thinking about the potential survivors from Legion Tech. They could come for me any time soon and if they are unable to come through the gate, they might try to come from above.”“I just feel it’s too risky.”“And so is waiting here for the unknown. I need about 1000 points for the first level of dome fortification. You don’t have to come with. I was just informing you.”“You know I’d never let you go alone,” Tom said, putting his cup on the table.“Where are you going?” The voice surprised me. I turned to see
