Pride filled my heart as I look at my company ‘Millar World’

It was not only a company to make money for me. I can feel my parents here. I did my best to rise it to new heights. Now we have 70 branches in the U.S. and 25 in Austria, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and Japan.

Still, I can't help but think about where 'Millar World' be if my parents are alive. Surely I did my best, but it was still not the best.

I nod at the guards and make my way to private elevator. It's 6 in the morning. Overnight associates already left at 5 am and the other employees will arrive at 7 am.

Usually, my Secretary Kaili arrives at the same time as me but She is on maternity leave since yesterday and I fired that dumb excuse of a substitute.

She doesn't even know what is the difference between a product marketing report and a product management report. Still, I would have let it go if she didn't start crying like a dinosaur baby.

so now it was only me and guards here for one hour. I press the button on my floor. It will take almost 5 to 7 minutes to reach. So I review our project presentation.

Normally I prefer being alone because I believe that it's the most creative time, but today I felt sick with apprehension.

I felt a strange tightness in my heart, but I choose to ignore it, mistaking it as a nervous breakdown. I always felt anxious before a new deal or project so It was nothing new for me.

The ding of the elevator pointed out that I have arrived at my destination but I didn't know that it will be my last destination.

I turn off my iPad and step out. The terrible quietness of this floor pokes my heart.

I shrugged to stop overthinking and walk towards my office. My feet halted when I find the door of my office ajar. Only Kaili and I know the code of the entrance lock of my office.

For sure, Kaili is not here, so who is here? My first thought was to run towards the elevator and call security, but it will give the thief enough time to run.

I press the red button to inform guards about the danger and kick the door open

" WHO IS HERE, COME OUT. "

" Damn, little girl, where are your manners? Did you burry your manners with your parents too?"

A heavy, raspy voice sounded from the corner of the room. I can see a silhouette of someone, but it's too dark to know who the person is.

" who?"

I ask as I turn the light on. My eyes become wide with shock and the fear of the unknown when I see him. The person I hate the most in my life. The person who almost snatched everything from me.

" How could you forget your favorite uncle, little girl?"

" H..How? W...Why are you here?"

My legs shake like my voice but I steady myself by putting a hand on the wall. I was scared but I hide it behind my hard expressions.

" Can't I come to meet my lovely niece and thank her for putting me behind the bars "

He said with a half-smirk. His dark black eyes were gleaming with malicious and wicked intentions. His face share similarities with my dad but his soul didn't get an ounce of my dad's kind nature.

He was cruel and it took me a long time to know that. The person standing in front of me is a murderer and fraudster. I can't believe he has the same blood as my dad.

" Leonardo, you deserved that. Hundreds of kids are still suffering from cancer because of you. Only because you approved those killer toys even after knowing very well about their harmful effects"

* boom*

He slams his fist hard on the table between us.

" you are talking like you were not involved in it. Don't forget that you are the one who signed the paper to start the production of those radioactive toys."

He snarled showing his teeth like the wolf he actually is.

" I am 14 that time. I didn't know that you are going to distribute death in form of toys. I trusted you and signed those papers and you took advantage of my lack of knowledge"

I shouted

" I am not a fool like you to not take advantage of opportunities. I made millions from that deal and it would have billions if you kept your good for nothing mouth shut"

" hah! So you can murder more kids? Never. I would rather die"

* mwahaha *

He laughed like a runaway psycho.

"Now you are predicting your future"

"What do you mean?"

"What do you think I am here for! To play monopoly with you? No, girl. I am here to take what originally belongs to me."

He throws a bunch of papers towards me, and I catch it due to reflex.

"Sign it and you can live longer "

I read the papers, and a smile appeared on my face.

" So You want me to take all the charges away and give you 50% shares of Miller World?"

" Yeah. Don't worry, I will donate 1% of shares to charity. After all, I need to rebuild my reputation"

He flicked a pen in his hands and tossed it to me.

I couldn't help but let out a small laugh at his pathetic attempt to scare me.

" I! Am! Never! Going! To! Sign! This! Shitty! Papers!"

I tore the papers into pieces and flung the pieces on the table.

" The guards will be here in the seconds and you will be where you deserve. Behind the bars!"

" oh, that red button. Oh, baby, you forgot that I used to visit your father here when this building was under construction, so in short, I took care of all these little things for you."

" What...are...you-

My tongue felt heavy with dread when his words registered in my mind. He must have disconnected it.

" Ah! You forget one thing, baby girl."

He took out a lighter from his pocket and burn the papers on the desk.

The fire alarm went off. I was too confused about what he is doing to take action.

Is he trying to burn me alive?

"you have one minute left. I have another copy of the papers if you want to live"

I took a step back. I don't know what he is planning, but one thing I know for sure is that I will never let Miller World go into the wrong hands.

" I will never sign that"

I took one more step back, slowly carrying myself towards safety without making it obvious.

" ah! Remember you forced me to do this."

He leaped towards me. I dodge him by the gap of a second and shut the door with more force than needed. I need to inform the police and guards.

I run towards the elevator, it won't take him much time to unlock the door. I have to escape before he can catch up with me.

I am not a coward but I know that there is a slight difference between being brave and being stupid.

I can not win against him in a physical fight. As soon as I entered the elevator I hear a loud malicious laugh from behind me. I hurriedly pressed the buttons inside.

I turn around, only to see his smirking face from the slit between closing doors.

He was just one foot away from the elevator, but he didn't even try to catch me. He leaned against the sidewall in a relaxing cross-legged posture with a disgusting smirk on his face.

" I am sorry, little girl. Uncle has to do what he has to do. Oh, I almost forget I am the one who sent your parents in eternal bliss."

My eyes turned into angry slits and I lunge at him but the doors of the elevator closed, parting us with a metal wall.

" I will kill you"

I shouted in rage. I hear a bark of a cynical laugh in reply.

" Don't worry, I will make up for it by sending them a precious gift and what is more precious than their lovely daughter"

His voice hit me with the realization like freezing cold water. My body felt numb and my mind went completely blank as I comprehend the meaning behind his word and I realize

" This is a trap "

He planned this. He wanted me to use the elevator to escape. A loud mechanical sound and a sudden jerk confirmed my assumption. The elevator starts falling at an uncontrollable fast speed.

I tried to press the buttons to stop it but it was all in vain. I fell. The temperature inside the elevator skyrocketed, dark black smoke surrounded me strangling me to death until tiny sparks of flame enveloped my body.

I thrashed around and screamed on top of my legs but in the end, I accepted my end.

I stand up and leaned on the wall behind me, welcoming its burning heat on my skin. I looked at the camera and smiled as if I can feel his gaze on me through the camera.

" You will never Never have Miller world-"

A shrill scream cuts my words off. It's my scream. I let out another loudest and probably my last scream as I felt the fire burning the last trace of my skin and devouring my flesh.

I can't speak any long but before I close my eyes forever I give a last glare to the camera, showing him that even if I am the one dying he is still the one who lost.

The lullaby of death forced me to close my eyes and drift into pure calmness.

I don't know if I am already dead or I am hanging between life and death. The one thing, I am sure of is that I feel contented.

I don't feel a burning passion for revenge surfacing inside me nor I felt regret crawling up my spine.

Maybe dead cannot feel emotions or maybe it is the fact that even after my death, Miller World won't be in the wrong hands.

I had already made my will. After my death, my all assets will belong to Vincent and if anything happens to him all my assets will be donated to charity.

Leonardo will never want that. I hope the police and Vincent can find the truth about my death.

A sudden wish knocked my heart when the memories of my life flooded through me.

I wanted to be loved by someone I wanted to know how it feels when you are cherished by someone like you are their treasure. I wanted to find someone who will accept me for what I am.

I want to be special for someone even if it lasts for a few moments I want to experience it.

' if there is such a thing as next life then please allow me to feel love'. I prayed to the high power unconsciously.

Suddenly, I felt a splash of something cold on me. Wind as violent as a tornado carrying me somewhere unknown to the human world.

Strange whispers and incoherent words touched her ears but in all these whispers I can hear clearly only one particular alluring voice

" let me be the strongest of all Who deserves to desire pure love in this rainy nightfall.

           Light the path of my soul in the sky and give me the power of the purest soul at this moment in exchange for my blood to bind them with me for eternity"
