The first thing I do after coming back to life is swap out every single pair of my husband, Augustin Reed's boxers for those in black. In my past life, my sister-in-law, Sephine Fidel, cheats right under our roof on my brother, Jonah Merrick. And when I catch her and tell Jonah the truth, she turns it all on me. Then, two pairs of men's black boxers, not Augustin's, appear in my bedroom. I try to explain, but Augustin slaps me across the face and calls me a whore, while Jonah looks at me like I'm filth. "I know you hate Sephine. You've never shown her any warmth since she married me, but I didn't think you'd sink this low to cheat in your own house and frame her for it…" He disowns me while Augustin files for divorce. I remember stumbling onto the streets in a daze, only to get run over dead by a speeding truck. When my eyes snap open, I wake up to the day Sephine brings her lover into our home.

Chapter 1

Upstairs on the second floor, the muffled sounds coming from the bedroom grated on my nerves.

I pressed my fingers to my aching temples and took in the familiar sight of the house.

Then it hit me—I was back! I was reborn!

My gaze was locked on the bedroom upstairs, rage burning in my eyes.

That shameless Sephine Fidel! She'd brought her side piece home and had me take the fall.

In my past life, I'd forgotten a file at home. I'd jumped in a cab and returned home to grab it, only to walk in on my sister-in-law, Sephine Fidel, mid-affair.

The moment I saw them, I immediately called my brother, Jonah Merrick. But when he got here, Sephine flipped the story and said I was the one cheating.

I tried to defend myself, but she found two pairs of men's boxers that weren't my husband's in my room. And just like that, I was branded a shameless woman overnight.

Jonah demanded to cut ties with me, while my husband, Augustin Reed, wanted a divorce.

Dazed, I wandered out, only to get hit dead by a truck.

This time, I wanted Sephine to see what it was like when the accusing fingers turned her way!

As this thought crossed my mind, I didn't bother making that stupid call to Jonah like I had in my past life. Instead, I headed straight for the nearest store and bought two pairs of men's black boxers.

After making that purchase, I returned home to see Sephine fresh out of the shower, wrapped in a towel, and lounging on the couch.

She seemed surprised to see me. "Clarice, what are you doing home so early?"

I'd usually stay late at the office until eight or nine in the evening. But today, I walked in before six.

Sephine's expression stiffened unnaturally under my gaze, which was fixed on the red marks and bruises on her neck. They were a silent testament to how fierce the round had been.

"Nothing much at work, so I thought I'd come back on time."

"Oh," she mumbled. Noticing my stubborn stare on her neck, she awkwardly scrambled upstairs to change into a turtleneck.

By seven, Augustin and Jonah were home too.

"Hey, Clarice, I've been thinking about quitting my job," Jonah tentatively said between mouthfuls at dinner.

Quitting…

In my past life, he'd also resigned and complained about how miserable he was at the company.

After our parents died, he became my only family left. So, I brought him to my office out of sheer obligation.

The moment I died, he and Sephine seized the business empire I'd built. Overnight, they turned into the powerful, entrepreneurial couple of the business world.

"Sure. Go ahead and quit," I casually said.

Sephine's eyes lit up as she shot Jonah a look.

"Since no one out there appreciates me, maybe…"

"Maybe you should try picking up trash on the street and see how that works out," I said, setting my spoon down and cutting him off before he could finish.

His expression fell. "What's your problem, Clarice?"

"Come on, Clarice. Jonah really wants to help. A woman running such a big company is a lot, and you need more men to keep things steady. Augustin alone just isn't enough," Sephine said as she plopped a meatball onto my plate.

The thought of her just screwing around in another man's bed made the meatball she gave me feel gross.

"My company's not hiring," I said coldly.

That shut Sephine and Jonah up fast. They swallowed the remaining words at the tip of their tongues.

Then, Jonah slammed his utensils down and stormed off.

In the past, I would have run after him and apologized. But my reborn self would never do that again.
