Could it be that Theodore thought she was playing tricks and decided not to come home?
It was common for him to spend the night at the office. Even when he did come home, he would go straight to his studies to avoid running into her, knowing it would make her unhappy.
But he had said this morning that he'd be home.
Maybe he just had too much work today.
She decided to wait a little longer.
Aunt Miller watched Sigourney, who was already looking exhausted, sitting there with her chin in her hands, staring intently at the door.
"Madam, why don't you eat first?"
"No, I'll wait for him."
Even though she was so hungry she could faint, Sigourney forced herself to endure.
But why was he still not home?
Was he really not coming back?
No way. She just needed to wait a little longer.
A little bit of stomach growling was nothing.
Aunt Miller grew more worried.
Sigourney was already in poor health, and now she was skipping meals-this was not good.
After hesitating momentarily, she decided to take a bold step and call Theodore's secretary.
At the company, Theodore was still in a meeting, discussing a new project with his partners.
He was so focused that he had completely forgotten about coming home early.
Sutton Mark, Theodore's secretary, saw his boss's phone ringing.
It was Aunt Miller.
Why was she calling at this hour?
Sutton instinctively reached out to decline the call, planning to inform Theodore after the meeting.
But then the phone rang again.
And then a third time...
What if it was something important?
What if it had to do with Madam?
Taking a deep breath, Sutton bravely answered the call.
"Hello, Aunt Miller?"
"Please tell Mr. Wang-"
"I understand."
Sutton knocked on the conference room door and stepped inside.
The instant Theodore's cold gaze landed on him, Sutton broke out in a cold sweat.
"Secretary Mark, are you looking to lose your job?"
"Sir, it's just a small matter-"
Theodore frowned, put down the draft in his hand, and signalled to his business partners to wait a moment.
"Speak."
Sutton stepped forward and leaned in to whisper:
"Madam cooked dinner herself this afternoon and has been waiting for you. She hasn't eaten yet."
Theodore immediately stood up, his expression sharp and intense.
Sutton shuddered.
This was a hundred-million-dollar project, not some trivial matter.
And now it was being put on hold over something this small?
Sutton felt like he was about to get fired.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Theodore grabbed his coat, turned, and strode out of the room.
His partners looked on, stunned.
Before disappearing through the door, Theodore left behind a calm yet ruthless remark:
"Apologies. I'm unavailable today. We'll discuss the project another time."
...
By the time he arrived home, it was already 9 PM.
Theodore stepped out of the car, adjusted his tie, and walked slowly into the house.
Inside, it was silent.
Sigourney was nowhere to be seen. Maybe she had waited too long and gone to sleep already.
Just as he was about to head upstairs, Theodore suddenly changed direction-toward the kitchen.
The moment he stepped inside, he froze.
Sigourney had fallen asleep at the dining table while waiting for him.
Surrounding her were plates of food-all cold.
A warm sensation flashed through Theodore's chest.
He stood there watching her.
Tonight, she wasn't wearing any makeup, yet she was more beautiful than ever.
Silently, Theodore approached and gently draped his coat over her shoulders.
She stirred slightly, then opened her eyes.
The moment she looked up, she saw Theodore standing there, gazing at her. But his eyes weren't cold like usual. They were soft.
Flustered, she quickly stood up.
"Y-You're back! I'll go reheat the food right away!"
"No need to rush. I'll take a shower first."
"Ah... okay..."
Sigourney was nervous.
It was rare to see her like this. But her change was a good thing.
A few minutes later...
As she rearranged the dishes, she heard footsteps and turned around.
"The food is... r-ready-"
Her entire face turned bright red.
Standing before her was Theodore-fresh out of the shower, wearing only a bathrobe.
That was... way too inappropriate!
Sigourney felt her brain overheating.
Ever since returning to this life, she didn't know why-but every time she was near him, her heart wouldn't stop racing.
"Then let's eat."
Theodore ate calmly, his movements elegant and composed.
He looked up and saw Sigourney sitting there frozen.
"Why aren't you eating?"
"You go ahead. I'm not hungry."
Sigourney's stomach was hurting, but she still held back.
How was she supposed to eat naturally when he was sitting right across from her?
"You think your stomach growling is quiet?"
She immediately placed both hands over her stomach, looking away in embarrassment.
Theodore almost laughed out loud at her reaction.
"Besides, didn't you say you'd eat with me?"
Seeing that Sigourney was still sitting there motionless, Theodore began to feel impatient. It was already past 9 PM, yet she hadn't eaten anything-was she not hungry? Even though she had changed for the better, she was still as foolish as ever.
Theodore stood up, took her bowl, filled it with food, and placed it back down.
"Eat it all."
Sigourney reached for the chopsticks and pulled the bowl closer.
Only when he saw her start eating did Theodore return to his seat.
From time to time, Sigourney secretly stole glances at him. Even while eating, he looked so handsome-it was truly unreasonable.
She couldn't understand why, in her past life, she had insisted on divorcing him. Her nerves must have been completely tangled up to have blindly listened to Savannah's words.
Theodore put down his chopsticks and wiped his mouth with a napkin.
Unconsciously, Sigourney also put down her chopsticks and reached for a napkin to wipe her mouth. He frowned.
"If you're still hungry, keep eating."

The following evening,As promised,Theodore took Sigourney to a renowned boutique that carried evening gowns from many prestigious designer brands, allowing her to choose and try on whichever she liked. To be honest, though Sigourney was no stranger to shopping at luxury brands, even she felt slightly overwhelmed by the extravagance of this place. There were far too many gowns from internationally acclaimed designers and all from their latest collections. It took her nearly half an hour before she finally settled on one that pleased her.An evening gown from a world-famous fashion house. It was a strapless white gown with a fishtail hem that beautifully revealed Sigourney's slender figure and long legs.Along the dress, shimmering crystals in bright tones were meticulously sewn in, catching the light and gleaming with every step she took.It came with a white fur shawl-extremely soft to the touch.Sigourney admired herself in the mirror with satisfaction. Her delicate figure was comp
She continued to spit out insults in all kinds of unpleasant language, leaving both Sigourney and Hilary stunned. The sales assistant's expression also became awkward and tense."I'm very sorry, miss, but that's our store policy.""This customer arrived first and had already indicated she wanted the bag. Perhaps... perhaps you could try discussing it with her?"The assistant, caught in the middle, offered the suggestion timidly. It was only then that the girl bothered to glance at Sigourney. One look and she immediately sneered with open contempt."Ugh. Who even is this? Some shabby little nobody trying to fight me for a bag?"She didn't hesitate to speak, even sizing up Sigourney's outfit with a mocking sneer."Wearing a dress from a luxury brand, huh? Think wearing expensive clothes will magically make you rich?""Who knows which billionaire's sugar baby you are? I bet you don't even have enough money to buy anything here."At that moment, staying silent would've made Sigourney seem
When butler Park brought in a pot of chrysanthemum tea for Tom, he couldn't help but ask upon seeing the satisfied look on the man's face."Something good happened, Master? You seem awfully cheerful this early in the morning."Tom gave a mysterious glance toward the dining room, then gestured for Park to come closer. Once the butler leaned in, Tom spoke in a low voice, just enough for the two of them to hear."I have a feeling... quite unintentionally, I might soon be holding my first grandchild.""Probably within a year, I'd say. Haha."Tom laughed heartily, clearly pleased with himself, leaving Park somewhat confused.Still, having worked in the Wang estate for many years, Park knew better than to pry or make wild assumptions. He simply smiled and offered his congratulations, then carefully set the teapot down and poured a cup for Tom....Even when they left the Wang estate,Sigourney and Theodore remained wordlessly in sync-but in silence, not the warm harmony of the previous day.
By the time Theodore finished his shower, his condition hadn't improved one bit.His vision was slightly blurred, and an unbearable heat simmered beneath his skin, intensifying with each passing second. He kept swallowing-dry, tight gulps-and couldn't stop thinking about Sigourney. Her eyes. Her smile. That unwavering confidence. And above all, the soft tenderness in her gestures today, the warmth in her expressions.Of course, Theodore knew something was wrong.Very wrong. So he bit his lower lip, forcing himself to stay composed as he stepped out of the bathroom."Are you really okay, Theodore? Should I call your private doctor?"Sigourney looked up at him, clearly confused. From her point of view, something was definitely off.Theodore's face was flushed an alarming shade of red, his lips pressed together tightly, his entire posture stiff and tense.Without waiting for a response, Sigourney stepped closer and leaned in, pressing the back of her hand to his forehead.Warm-far too w
