“You do not like it here?” Sherry asked as she put a spoonful of pasta in her mouth.
“It’s not that I do not like it here,” Levian said, feeling a bit out of place but still trying to blend in with the other people.
“As long as you do not hate it, then you can definitely tolerate it,” Sherry smiled at him, her cheek bulging with food. She looked like a little hamster that was munching on its favorite snaCK.
Sherry, however, could care less about how she looked. She was starving. After speaking it out with the guy, Mr. Hopkins about various things her appetite had returned.
The smell of pasta allured her more than ever. Taking in another spoon, she happily enjoyed the soft and juicy texture of pasta. She would call pasta her favorite dish any time of the day.
“Well,” she looked at his plate. It was still full of pasta but he was not eating.
“You are not eating
Sherry placed down her fork and stared at the tablet. With this conversation, she could not focus on eating the food even if she was hungry.“So, you mean there is something suspicious about them?” She asked. If it was before, she would not have thought of something as absurd as this, but now, the situation had changed. She had the reason to think like this.“Isn’t it weird how they only appeared after the court announced your parent's death?” Levian asked. “It's as if they were waiting for an opportunity like this.”She was silent. Many people did warn her about this, but with how she was treated by her uncle and aunt, she simply did not care about this anymore. But, that carelessness and the blind trust were what cost her life in her previous life.“So, when you were investigating my uncle and aunt, you fo
“Who was that cutie that you were talking to right now?” jack asked as he watched the entrance of the hospital.“You took your sweet time talking with her,” he teased his friend as he nudged him with his elbow. “I had to wait for a whole half an hour,” he exaggerated.Levian did not pay heed to the words he said but simply sighed.“Stop asking useless questions,” he three away from the hands that were around his neck. He also moved slightly away from him, maintaining a distance between them.Jack clicked his tongue at Levian. He was sad that his brother was distancing himself from him.“Aye, big brother Levian,” he said with a sly smile. “Come on, tell me, I am curious,” he said while sulking a bit. “Now, now, don’t be shy,” Jack teased him more.“...”“Roy, why is he here?” Levian asked Roy who was alrea
“Roy,” Levian immediately called out. “Drive to the office, we have an important meeting to hold.” Roy, upon getting the order hit the gas. He backed from the parking lot and drove out of the hospital compound. As their car drove out of the gate, Sherry who had been looking at it also finally went into her office. “See you later,” she mumbled as she went on about her work. As the car drove out of the gate, a figure who had been drinking coffee from a cup raised his head. He was wearing a black hat and reading a newspaper, looking as normal as he could. His eyes followed the movement f the car until it was out of his sight. “That guy,” the man mumbled the name as he pulled down his sunglasses. “Did he come to meet Sherry?” Pulling the Goggle a bit down, he stared at the empty road for a while before he was disturbed by another person. “Please, move a bit over there,” a woman came up to the bench he was sitting on and requested. He immediately covered his eyes, fixed his hat, and
Levian was about to ask Roy to kick the stupid man out of his office when he suddenly remembered something.“Jack, can I trust you with an important job?” Levian asked as he sat next to him. “You said you have lots of female friends, right?” He asked, looking excited about something. Nevertheless, he was very calm about it.Jack did not know why Levian was showing this much interest in him, but he was happy about it.“Yes, lot's of girls,” he smiled. “And let me tell you, they are not normal girls, they all are ladies from a rich family, a family having political power, and ladies with the powerful connection.” Jack started to brag.“So you are trying to go into jewelry investment,” Jack smiled. “Ahaha, I am just too good,” he chuckled as he leaned back in his seat. There was a look of satisfaction and pride on his face.“I knew I was born a businessman,
“You sure I can go in this?” Sherry asked as she stepped inside the car. She was wearing a normal sweatshirt and trousers paired with a normal slipper. Since she had been walking the entire day, her leg was sore. Wearing closed shoes or sneakers was out of the question.“I look like a housemaid,” Sherry sighed as she combed back her hair with her hand. Her baby hairs were sticking out like a sore thumb.Levian tilted his head a bit and looked at her feet. Raising his eyebrows, he stared at her hair and then at her dresses. Indeed she was dressed too simple but it was not bad. “It's fine,” he nodded as he helped to take her bag. “We are just going for dinner, not some Paris fashion week,” he smirked. Sherry was speechless when she heard him but quickly regained her composure.“That's true,” she giggled as she leaned back on the car for the second time that day. The first time was when she was coming from the registration office, while the second time was now, at dusk as she was going

There was a hint of pity, sympathy, and compassion in his old eyes, however, it was completely hidden under t
“Were you nervous?” Levian asked as he walked behind her, matching his steps with her steps. The lights flickered on the street, creating dancing shadows in the night street.“A bit.” Sherry smiled. “But not anymore.”Her footsteps sounded relaxed now, so Levian believed her. After having a hearty dinner with the grandfather, they returned from the mansion. The dinner was not bad, but things did become awkward midway when the conversation was about food preferences.Sherry had met Levian just yesterday so she had no idea about it, but based on her memory and observation, she had seen Levian eat anything that was given to him. Levian was clever enough the direct the conversation elsewhere after Sherry said a few of his eating habits, among which ninety percent of them were close to the truth. He had once again felt the joy and terror of having a smart wife.“Why don't you two stay the night here?” The elderly man looked at them with hopeful eyes. Living in the big mansion alone with hi
With the coat still hanging in his hand, Levian watched with a complicated expression as the gate closed. For the first time ever in his life, he was at a loss for words with a certain someone.“Good night,” Sherry managed to speak in one breath before closing the gate right at his face. When the gate was almost closed, Sherry turned around and peeked at the man on the road. He had not moved from his place- the coat still hung in his hands, lightly swaying in the cold wind. Her sight fell on his well-defined face that was illuminated by the street lamps. “Shit!” She remembered what she had done in the heat of the moment a few minutes ago. She could still feel the gentle touch of her lips on his! The taste was still lingering in her memory- fresh and sweet.BANG!The gate shut with a loud sound- clearly representing her flustered state. “Bold and lewd one moment, shy and innocent the next,” Levian summarized in his head. Shaking his head, he put the coat around his shoulder. He had
