"Y-You..." Abby, the woman who asked him the question, was left speechless by what he said. After stuttering for a while at a loss of words, she stormed out of the room fuming in anger and humiliation. She wanted to say something more to him, but what he said was not completely wrong.
He was as refined as a diamond, while she was a crude crystal that did not even hold a candle to him and his majestic presence.
Levian looked with an expressionless and apathetic face at the young woman who walked out of the room with a flushed out and embarrassed face.
Getting up from the bed, Levian stretched out his limbs and body, which was stiff for a long time.
Talking about time, since the room was dark, he had no idea what time it was now.
With a single swift movement of his hand, he opened the curtains, drawing the folds aside. The golden light of the evening sun fell right on his dark brown eyes, making him squint them a bit before they adjusted to the sudden brightness.
“Fuck!! It’s already evening.”
HE cursed when he realized he had been sleeping the whole day like a log beside some strangers. It was weird for someone like him who was a valiant germ phobic person.
It was not possible, but what if…. When his thoughts started to wander around, his phone rang, breaking his thoughts and bringing him back to reality.
Without looking at the caller ID, he picked up the phone.
“It was you right?” Levian did not even give a chance for the person on the phone on the other side to speak.
“What do you mean by that it was me?” A man who was drinking in a pub at that time with a few hot ladies in his arms acted oblivious when he was accused of something.
Levian frowned upon hearing his answer, which made him even more irritated than before.
“Don’t play dumb Jack.” Rubbing his temples, he looked out of the window of the room he was in. He could see the busy street from there, as cars and buses ran on the roads one after the other like a continuous process.
“Damn, you caught me way too soon!” Jack Tori let out an amused laughter. This young man was the only son of one of the largest conglomerates in the country and a well-known flirt and playboy who was also famous as the one-night stand man in all the famous nightclubs and bars.
“It was obvious Jack.” Levian let out a helpless sigh, since he could finally remember the last thing before he blacked out was Jack offering him a glass of alcohol.
“Dude, you are too stoic,” Jack answered from the other side of the phone.
“You are already a 25-year-old full-fledged man, and you still haven’t popped your cherry.” Jack glanced at the giggling ladies in front of him and gestured them to be silent, keeping a finger over his mouth.
“I just found a girl for you as your friend and brother.”
“That’s none of your business.” Levian darkened slightly upon hearing his reason, even though he had predicted it beforehand.
“Don’t do anything like this in the future.” Without hearing the response from the other side, Levian cut off the phone and threw it on the bed beside him.
He was still tired even after sleeping the whole day. No wonder he did not budge even when someone else was sleeping beside him, although he hated having physical contact with people; especially strangers.
The place he was currently in was the XX hotel, one of the branches of the hotel owned by the father of Jack.
He looked at his sweaty body and felt disgusted with himself. I have to take a bath and clean up first. He thought and stood up from the bed in one swift motion. Picking up his white shirt and black suit and coat, he got dressed and was ready to leave in less than five minutes.
“Is the car still parked in the underground parking lot?” Levian picked up the key from the table beside him and called Jack once again.
“Yes... Are you leaving already?” Jack had hoped he would spend another day there in heavenly bliss and pleasure, but his brother was just too much of a virtuous man. Hearing the end call of the phone, he let out a sigh.
“Honey, what’s wrong?” A girl snuggled up in his arms and asked like a cat.
Jack looked at the girl that was pasting herself on his body with her lips puckered into a pout and her cleavage clearly open to him and wondered why his good friend, Levian, hated touching them.
………
Levian washed his face and directly took the elevator to go to the basement where there was the parking lot.
His head was still a bit fuzzy. As he was walking, his head suddenly felt dizzy, forcing him to halt on the spot to wait for it to subside.
“What?” Levian was dumbfounded when a hand approached to grab him out of nowhere.
‘An ambush in the bright daylight?’ That was the first thing in his mind and he was ready to fight back when…
Wait… Am I falling down? Before he could even complete his series of thoughts, he landed heavily on the concrete floor.
Thank heaven, he placed his elbows out to support himself, preventing his head from splattering into a bloody mess.
That was okay, but what was the weight on top of him?
Levian looked with a frown at the woman who had used him as a cushion to break her fall, his veins in the forehead twitching in anger.
‘Wait, where are you touching me woman?’ He looked stupefied and surprised at the woman who was running her claw all over his chest, feeling the linings of the abs in his stomach.
Am I getting molested in bright daylight? By a pervert woman?
That was the thought of Levian Smith, the man who hated being touched by others more than anything.
“What do you mean by that?” Adannael’s voice cracked through the silence in the room. He could hardly believe what he had just heard. “You allowed those people to escape?” He sucked in a sharp breath and exhaled through his teeth. “Not once, but twice?”Sergeant Samuel, who had just finished relaying their current status, clenched his jaw until it hurt but said nothing.“And they even took a prisoner with them? Hah!” Adannael let out a harsh, humorless snort. His eyes narrowed as he looked at every personnel there in disdain. “And you dare claim you have the best prison security?”No one answered. Even if they were short on manpower, even if circumstances had been against them, the truth was undeniable. They had let their guard down.Adannael’s gaze shifted to the commander lying unconscious nearby and shook his head. Then, with a sudden movement, he rose to his feet.“This won’t do.” His voice was low. He turned his sharp stare on the Sergeant. “We have to report this incident to His
“Superior!” A soldier barged into the office, shouting as alarms blared throughout the building. “We are under attac–!”But he stopped mid-sentence when he saw her lying motionless on the floor, next to an empty chair. He immediately got alerted and quickly scanned the room. The intruder they had captured earlier was nowhere to be seen. He held the gun and slowly walked further inside when the open window drew his attention.“...no way,” he whispered, as he rushed towards the window and looked outside. But the evidence dangled there…a rope, dancing lazily against the wall outside.“Goddammit.” He scrubbed a hand over his face, muttering something harsher under his breath that didn’t really make it past his teeth. “Today’s just one disaster stacked on another.” He hurried back to Amelia and dropped into a squat beside her. He pressed his fingers against her throat and checked for a pulse. It was there.Relieved, he stood up and turned on his comms. “Reporting from the superior’s offic
“You killed the lieutenant, didn’t you?” The superior said as she brought the knife closer to his face one more time. However, seeing that Levian wasn’t willing to answer her, she drew the blade across his skin.“That’s the second cut.” She chuckled as she watched the small red droplets falling from the knife. The superior crouched in front of him again and smiled. “You’re breaking,” she whispered. “How long will you remain stubborn? Your body will betray you before you know it.”“Bring it on,” Levian said as he swallowed the bitterness that seemed to have clamped down hard on his throat. He had his plans to escape the prison, however, the drug was a little more powerful than he had assumed. He didn’t have much time to play around with the superior. After getting the answer he wanted, he had to leave right away. “Say,” Levian began, raising his head just a little. He locked his eyes onto hers and gave a cocky smile. “Aren’t you such a loyal dog to that man Aldrevon?”“Huh?” She narr
Back inside the superior’s office, the atmosphere was heavy with bloodlust. The superior stood before the large monitor on the wall, which flickered with footage from various corners of the prison.Under her command, all the soldiers were out, checking every nook and corner for the second intruder. ‘At least we got one of them.’ She thought as she turned around. Levian sat tied to a chair, wrists bound tight behind his back. She didn’t speak right away. Just stood there, watching him in silence, her arms folded loosely over her chest. Then, slowly, she walked over.“You’re still quiet.”She stopped in front of him, close enough that the chair creaked slightly as he shifted. Her eyes carefully looked over his face, taking in as much detail as she could. She leaned forward and raised her one hand, brushing the side of his face. Her fingers slid down from his temple to the edge of his jaw before settling near his throat.“If you talk now,” she said quietly, pressing her thumb against th
“Superior!” The soldier stationed on the second floor stiffened and saluted as a woman in a dark officer’s coat descended from the top floor. She was tall, built with lean muscle, and carried a leather whip coiled around her waist like a venomous snake.“Are you leaving now?” He asked. Her leaving the office meant only one thing—a visit to the basement cell. She gave him a sharp nod. “How are things this afternoon?” Her eyes swiftly swept across the corridor before settling back on him.“Everything’s fine for now,” the soldier replied. Just then, another soldier who had returned to his duty also approached them.“Good afternoon, Superior!” He saluted her. “Hnn.” She gave a slight nod, turned around, and walked to the stairs leading to the basement. “For some reason, the superior seems irritated today, doesn’t she?” the soldier who had just arrived whispered. The other soldier momentarily hesitated and called after her, “Superior?” “What about the soldiers you called in a while ago
Sherry inserted the key into the lock and twisted it. With a loud click, the lock opened.Inside, the two people huddled together froze at the sound of approaching footsteps. They scrambled to hide themselves in the shadows.Sherry crouched a few centimeters away from them and gently tapped one of them on the shoulder. “Uncle,” she whispered. “Aunt.”“This voice…”The man on the ground trembled. He abruptly raised his head and stared at the figure in front of him. He could barely make out her silhouette in the dim light of the basement.“Sh–Sherry?” he croaked, his voice dry and cracked.“Yes,” Sherry replied softly. “It’s me. I’m Sherry.”“Sherry?” It was her aunt this time. “Sherry Lona?” She raised her head and crawled forward, reaching out to touch the girl before her.It wasn’t an illusion. It really was her, alive, in the flesh.“Sherry… Sherry… Did you come to save us?” the aunt sobbed, clutching her tightly. “Please, child… take us away from this hell.”“Hell?” Sherry’s voice
