THEA’s POV

As the car pulled up the long, winding driveway, I felt a heavy weight in my chest. This was supposed to be a place free of conflict, from the clinic and the Sterlings, but I knew better.

And in this house, the biggest conflict was wearing a silk dress and a fake smile.

Scott pulled the car to a stop in front of the grand entrance. He turned to look at Andrea and me, his expression full of a soft, tired kindness. "We’re home," he said. "The nightmare is over for today."

  • Reborn to Ruin Her Husband    red carpet

Thea’s POV The entrance of the regency hall was blinding. Hundreds of camera flashes went off all at once, making the cool Saturday night air feel hot. Heavy velvet ropes kept back dozens of reporters, shouting questions over one another.I held tight to Elias’s arm as we walked down the long red carpet. Elias wore a tailored black tuxedo, his tall frame looking completely powerful and composed. I wore a dark blue silk gown that fell smoothly to the floor. As we walked, Elias slowed his steps to match mine. He felt me tense up against the loud noise, and he leaned down slightly, his lips almost touching my ear."You look breath-taking, Thea," Elias whispered softly. His voice was warm and steady against the cold air. "Just relax. Look at me, not at the cameras."I looked up into his dark eyes, and the tight knot in my chest instantly loosened. "I’m fine," I said, giving him a small, genuine smile. "I’m just ready for this night to be over.""It will be over soon," he said. He reached

  • Reborn to Ruin Her Husband    calm before the banquet

Saturday morning arrived with a cool, quiet fog hanging over the estate grounds.By six o'clock, black SUVs were parked outside the side entrance. Elias’s private security detail moved fast and quiet. They brought Maya Sterling out of the lower holding wing, her hands bound, and secured her in the back of an armored vehicle. With heavy guards surrounding her, she was driven away to an off site, high security facility outside the city limits.Upper floors remained locked down. Emily was still kept in the east wing guest bedroom, fed and unharmed, but guarded by two men outside her door until the evening events concluded.---Inside Elias’s private study, warm morning light filtered through the heavy blinds. The large desk was covered in neat stacks of paper, bank printouts, and wire transfer logs.Thea sat in the leather chair opposite Elias. She wore a simple sweater, holding a pencil, tracing her finger down a list of offshore bank names. Elias stood beside her, leaning over the des

  • Reborn to Ruin Her Husband    didn’t work out

Elias walked back into the house with his main security detail right behind him. His face was cold, and his jaw was set tight. He had just spent twenty exhausting minutes at the front gates, arguing with city officials and sending the sirens and fire trucks away. He knew the brushfire at the rear gate had to be a setup, and he knew Sirius was behind it."Check the perimeter again," Elias ordered his chief guard in a low, sharp tone. "I want double guards on every door.""Yes, Mr. Vane," the chief guard said, turning to give orders to his men.Elias didn't stop to rest. He turned on his phone's flashlight and walked fast toward the east wing. His heart was beating fast in his chest. His primary concern was not the house, the power outage, or the reporter. It was Thea. He had left her alone inside when the lights went out, and he needed to see with his own eyes that she was safe.He rounded the corner near the service pantry, his light cutting through the thick darkness of the hallway

The doors of the main estate clicked shut behind Darius, leaving the entrance hall in a brief, heavy silence.Outside on the cobblestone driveway, Darius walked calmly toward his waiting black luxury sedan, adjusting his suit jacket. His chief assistant, who was holding the rear door open for him, leaned in closer and spoke in a low, urgent voice."Sir, our perimeter scouts just spotted three unmarked vans parking near the rear woods of the Vane estate," the assistant reported quickly. "There are men in dark clothing moving along the tree line toward the generator shed. It looks like Sirius Vane is moving."Darius stopped, his hand resting on the top of the open car door. He looked back toward the towering stone mansion, his expression unreadable."Should we intervene, sir?" the assistant asked, looking tense. "Or warn Mrs. Vane?"A slow, cool smile touched Darius's lips. He took a slow breath, stepping into the comfortable backseat of his car."No," Darius replied smoothly, pulling h

  • Reborn to Ruin Her Husband    unraveling drama

THEA’s POV I stared at Emily, she looked disheveled standing in our drawing room, my mind struggling to process the scene. Her clothes were wrinkled and dirty, her hair was a mess, and dried tears streaked her face.I looked at Elias, waiting for him to explain, but before he could say a word, he turned toward Darius."She is not innocent," Elias said, his voice hard as his temper flared. "And don’t act so smug, Darius. I caught her running away from your estate, so you had her locked up first."The room fell into a quiet, heavy tension.I turned my head slowly to look at Darius, raising an eyebrow at him. "You had her at your house, Darius? What is going on?"Darius shrugged, keeping his hands in his pockets with a calm, indifferent expression."Consider it another favor done by me for you, Thea," Darius said smoothly. "I was only keeping her out of trouble until things settled down."Elias stepped directly between me and Darius, his dark eyes fixed on him."Stop it, Darius," Elias

Elias’s POV The gates of my estate creaked open, and the sedan pulled smoothly up the long, winding driveway.I didn't waste a second. As soon as the car stopped in front of the main doors, I stepped out into the afternoon air. My guards pulled a crying, dirt-streaked Emily out of the back seat right behind me."Bring her inside," I ordered cold, unyielding instructions to the security detail. "Lock her in the east wing holding room. Make sure she stays quiet.""Yes, Mr. Vane," the chief guard nodded, roughly leading the trembling journalist toward the side entrance.I smoothed down the front of my suit jacket and walked through the heavy front doors. My chest felt tight. My mind was racing with everything that needed to be finalized before tomorrow’s banquet, but more than anything, I needed to see my wife.I stepped into the grand foyer and walked straight toward the living room.It was dead silent.I looked around the spacious room, the high ceilings, the soft velvet sofas, the ma

  • Reborn to Ruin Her Husband    Trust her

ELIAS’s POV Elias felt like he was being trapped. His own parents were turning against him. Serena was standing there like a vulture, waiting for him to fall. "Thea is my wife," Elias said. THEA’S POV Elias leaned in until I could feel the ghost of his breath against my lips. He was waiting for me to flinch. "You think you’ve grown claws, Thea," He murmured, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous vibration. "But you’re still in my house. You’re still wearing the ring I bought you. An

THEA’s POV “Tell him,” I said.I walked toward the dressing room. The walk-in closet was the size of a small house, filled with rows of suits in muted grays and navy blues, colors Elias liked. I used to dress like a shadow so I wouldn’t offend him.I found a pair of scissors on the mahogany island

  • Reborn to Ruin Her Husband    Bloody wake up call

THEA’s POV The hospital room was too quiet. I lay there, my body feeling like it was made of lead. I couldn't move my fingers. I couldn't open my eyes. All I had left was my hearing, and the sound of the heart monitor's steady beep... beep... beep... "Is it done yet?" That was Maya’s voice
