Chapter 2

Author: Anonymous
Autumn and I had chosen our mates, so we publicly formed a contract with them in front of the white tiger tribe.

A female could have multiple male mates in the tribe, but only a male who had formed a contract with the female could live with her.

As for the other males, they were no different than concubines in ancient times.

However, unlike the concubines in human society, the male mates in the tribe were openly accepted by everyone. They were not hidden away in secret.

It was perfectly normal for a male mate to lose the favor of the female and get dumped.

Autumn relied on that in our past life. She knew that the serpent man she chose was possessive and obsessive, but during his hibernation period, she still shamelessly seduced the other males.

She had always planned to play around and then find an excuse to dump her male mate.

Unfortunately, she did not expect her plan to backfire.

Females were very rare in the tribe, so the males who managed to become mates would not let go so easily.

When the serpent man woke from hibernation, he was immediately surrounded by the males Autumn had flirted with. They demanded an explanation from him.

Autumn had told them the reason she rejected them was that the serpent man would not allow her to have other mates.

The serpent man learned that she had flirted with so many males while he was hibernating, and he exploded in anger.

He fiercely fought those males, then he dragged Autumn back to his serpent cave. He did not look happy.

Then, he tormented her in various ways until she became pregnant.

As a result, Autumn was forced to give birth to clutches of offspring.

She thought about escaping, but the serpent man did not let her leave.

It was not until the day the wolf man was to inherit the chieftain position in the tribe that she had a chance to get out with her serpent babies. All the elderly, the females, and the youngsters were required to attend the ceremony.

The chieftain ceremony included a sky-offering ritual, so it was held at the mountain cliff.

She realized that I, who was once inferior to her in everything, had become the wife of the chieftain, and she was filled with jealousy.

She seized the opportunity when everyone was kneeling to worship the sky and charged at me to shove me off the cliff.

"Lynn Jane, you've always been beneath me since we were kids. Why should you live better than me? Die!" she had yelled.

Our families used to be neighbors, and my family had been better off than hers.

However, my parents died in a car accident, and everything we had was taken by my biased grandmother and given to my uncle and his family.

I knew that to them, I was only a girl, an outsider, and unworthy of inheriting my father's properties.

Her mom had pitied me and helped me.

I later regretted countless times that I accepted their help.

Autumn would tell everyone that her family funded my studies and that without them, I would have been sent to an orphanage.

Therefore, I was always beneath her.

She disliked it when I did well in exams, so I had to deliberately do poorly to help her shine.

My friends gradually left me after she appeared.

She also stole my college boyfriend during the holidays.

"Don't be mad, Lynn. I just wanted to test if he truly likes you. You're my best friend, and I don't want you to get hurt by a player. See what I mean? He failed my test, right? You should thank me," she had said.

I smiled at her with fake gratitude and said, "Hm. Thank you, Autumn."

She immediately beamed with pride and said, "You're welcome. We're best friends, after all."

I sneered inside.

People like Autumn Cox had dirtied the term best friend.

However, the fact remained that her family had helped me.

I could not burn the bridge with Autumn and upset her mom.

However, that was all in my past life.

The moment Autumn pushed me off that cliff, I no longer owed her family anything.

I felt uneasy after Autumn and the wolf man left."Sean, I'm worried they may join forces with other tribes to deal with us. We need to be careful from now on," I said with slight concern. His golden eyes turned cold. He said, "I'm only worried that they won't come."I felt puzzled. I asked, "What do you mean?"He looked at me and replied gently, "Lynn, relying on the scale of our tribe will not be enough to protect the things you've brought us. We need to start expanding our tribe. I will lead the fight. You must stay inside and not go out."My heart skipped a beat.I had not expected Sean to think that far ahead.I quickly said, "People will inevitably get hurt if war breaks out. We should rely on our current skills to negotiate with other tribes. We can share our skills with them if they are willing to submit to the white tiger tribe."The tribes could unite if they had common interests. He lit up and nodded. He said, "You're right. I'll try that."Sean soon led a team of

Sean returned an hour later."How's Autumn? Did she give birth safely?" I asked casually. He nodded. Then, he looked at me and asked, "Lynn, which tribe were you from? Are you close with her?"I was taken aback for a moment. I replied, "We're fairly familiar. Why?"His expression darkened."That female is up to no good. She tried to drive a wedge between us. She said you were from another world and would bring disaster to the tribe."My heart leapt to my throat.'Has she lost her mind? Does she think that dragging me down will somehow save her own skin?' I thought.Sean snorted coldly and said, "I would've torn her apart if she weren't a female! You're clearly the Lady Divine bestowed upon me by the Beast God, and yet she dares to slander you."He was not foolish. The white tiger tribe had enough to eat for the winter because of me. No one had to worry about food again, and the newborns had more than enough milk to drink.I hesitated when I saw his righteous indignation, bu

Soon, the weather began to turn cold, and the harsh winter was approaching. The tribe was busy hunting to prepare for surviving the coming winter.Autumn had finally become pregnant with the wolf man's offspring. She was allowed to go out with her belly showing. She looked especially pale after being imprisoned indoors for nearly six months. She immediately walked up to me when she saw me working with the other females to process the meat brought back by the males. She asked, "Lynn, why have you not visited me at all?"I looked at her with an innocent expression and replied, "Your mate wouldn't allow anyone to visit you, Autumn. What could I have done?"Her expression faltered. She then glared at me and asked, "You knew all along that the wolf man was no good, didn't you? Why didn't you tell me?"She had thought in our past life that the reason the wolf man kept me from going out was because he wanted to hide me away like a treasured beauty. However, she only learned the trut

"I only happened to know a few things, nothing as exaggerated as you said," I replied as I calmed down very quickly. However, he was convinced that I was the one the Beast God had said would bring miracles to the white tiger tribe."It must be you," he said. His eyes showed not only admiration, but also a hint of fanaticism. It felt like he had become my devoted follower.I no longer denied anything after looking at Sean for a moment. What I needed to do next would become much easier with his blind trust. The tribe would obey me if Sean spoke for my behalf, even if they were not convinced. It was midsummer, so food and vegetables were abundant. However, the cold would kill the plants when winter came, and there would be no wild vegetables or fruits outside. They only ate meat during the winter, which led to a lot of them suffering from constipation. Some of the elderly even died because their intestines were badly blocked.I led the other females of the tribe to gather a lar

Sean frowned."I can just send someone from the tribe to search for the medical ingredients at that point," he replied.I was not surprised by his answer. They were always like that. Their bodies were strong, but their thinking was straightforward. There was rarely any scheming in the tribe. They would fight if they were not convinced, and there were no tactics at all."Have you ever thought about preparing enough medicinal paste in advance? This way, when there's an emergency, there will always be enough medicine to use," I said.He immediately understood what I meant. He shook his head and replied, "That won't work. The medicinal paste only lasts a year. It loses its effect after that. There's no need to store more in advance.""Can't you find a way to extend its shelf life?" I asked.I had to degrade him in my mind, 'This jar is left open without a lid, it is constantly exposed to the air. The fact that the medicinal paste can last a year and still be effective is a miracle

Sean still showed that he cared about me.He stopped exhausting me after that night and instead took care of me every day.He only left when someone came to ask him for treatment or help.My body finally recovered after three days of rest.I did not know if it was just my imagination, but when I got out of bed this time, I felt much lighter. The wolf man rushed over when I stepped outside; he looked anxious."Priest, please save my mate," he said urgently.Sean asked calmly, "What happened to her?"The wolf man hesitated for a while before blushing and saying, "I wanted her to get pregnant sooner, so I've mated with her very frequently these three days. She suddenly developed a high fever today."Sean frowned after hearing that.He stared at the wolf man coldly and said, "Your mate is obviously much more delicate than normal females, yet you still behaved like this? You are also in your mating season, are you not? During mating season, wolves become irritable and can easily h
