LOGINMalisha's head throbs like it is a disco ball. She had known she was going to have a headache, but she had not expected it to be so bad. She was obviously blaming it on Grayson. She kept on replaying the conversation, and it made her sad and annoyed.
Malisha stands up knowing she has to go to the pack clinic, and also had a lesson in physical fights. Today was going to be busy. She could not help wondering what the lycans wanted to tell her parents. It was all she could think about. By tMorning wastes no time when coming. It is too fast, but yet it still comes. Malisha is already awake before the sun rises. Of course she is, but at least she slept. Her eyes are fixated on the ceiling. She is quiet and still, but inside, she nothing inside of her is quiet. The voice inside her is still insistent on her choice. Although it has mellowed down now. Malisha tightens are jaw. Her voice is barely above a whisper, but it feels loud in her own head. There is a knock on the door. Mirabel is still asleep so, she goes to open it. When she opens the door, she sees Iris and Kimora. The two of them pause when they see their friend. She looks fine, but still, they still can't help but be afriad of the fact that she is fine. "Did you even sleep?" Kimora asks her. "Of course I did." Mirabel is now awake, and she mutters groggily, "Barely." Malisha shrugs. "In my defense, I have been asleep for three days." Iris narrows her eyes at her. "That is not enough seeing as even when yo
Malisha is not able to sleep immediately. Yes, her eyes are closed, and her body is still, but she still can't sleep. Even though Mirabel is literally sitting at the e like a guard dog. She is not able to really rest. Because even though the room is quiet, her mind is the complete opposite. She keeps on being reminded that clock is ticking, and she tries to shake off the thought, but she is not able to. Because at the end of the day, she knows that the clock is ticking. She exhales slowly trying to take a deep breath. "No," She whispers under her breath. Mirabel is immediatly at high alert. "You said something?" Malisha opens her eyes slowly. "No." Mirabel narrows her eyes slightly, but she does not push knowing just how tired Malisha is. "Try to sleep," she says instead even though what she really wants to say is far from that. Malisha nods even though she knows it will be difficult too seeing as she has been asleep for three whole days. Her gaze shifts to the window. The n
Grayson and Sage freeze. "Things like what?" Sage asks stepping closer. Malisha hesitates at first. "Malisha." She looks at Grayson. "It knows you." There is silence at first until Grayson asks, "WHat does that mean?" Malisha shrugs. "I do not know fully, but..." Her voice drops even more. "It did say you are the only reason I have not come willingly."Grayson does not breathe or move. Sage on the other hand immediately understands. "Meaning it is adjusting strategy." "Stop talking as if this is some kind of game," Grayson snaps."It is a game," Sage calmly replies. "And we are losing time." Malisha leans back slightly, and closes her eyes briefly. "It is getting smarter." And that is a real problem. It becoming smarter only means better manipulation and strategy. Malisha yawns, and Grayson immediately says, "You need to rest." Malisha nods. "But your parents, brother and friends need to know you are awake," Grayson says. Malisha nods and decides to mind link her family.
Inside the room, Malisha's fingers twitch. It is small and barely noticeable, but it lights a particular hope in Grayson."Did you see that?" he turns to ask hoping that his eyes are not playing with him. They all nod. Grayson feels slight relief until he realizes she is turning on the bed. She moans lightly, and he immediately holds her hand hoping that it will calm her. "She is fighting it," Mirabel says. Sage steps closer and his chest tightens at the sight. "Is there something we can do to stop this?" Grayson asks feeling a pain in his chest indicating that whatever is fighting with is taking a toll on her. "Something like what?" Sage asks back. "Something that can make her wake up," Grayson says feeling annoyed. "We can't." Grayson's eyes flash. "And why not?" "Because forcing her to wake up might cause some problems for her," Sage replies. "She has not been able to wake up for three days," Grayson replies. "Is the present problem not enough as it is? Is it not enough
It has been two days since that day, and Malisha is still yet to wake up. The room feels wrong. It feels empty as it is just Malisha lying on the bed, unmoving. She is too still and quiet. She still breathes, but that is all she does. Beatrix, Sage, Grayson, Iris, Kimora, Mirabel, David(Malisha's father), Leo and Ophelia have all tried to wake her up. All to no avail. Beatrix had told them that her mind is probably exhausted from all the work it has been put through, and while that is a reasonable reason, it still does nothing to reduce the way they all feel. Grayson is yet to leave Malisha's side. He holds her hand and speaks to her gently hoping that she can at least hear what he is saying. Kimora opens the door, and stands near the door. "Grayson," she calls out to him. "Yes?" "You need to get some rest." "No." She sighs because the finality in his voice is not lost. Mirabel sighs from the corner. "You have been here all day." "And I will be here all night." Iris glance
Beatrix enters Malisha's room. Grayson does not bother looking up to know who it is because he can already tell. "How is she doing?" Beatrix asks carefully. Grayson shrugs. "She is still deep in sleep so I have no idea yet." Beatrix sighs. "I did not want things to go this far." "Well, this is the result of the situation," Grayson replies. "There is nothing we can do asides observe and protect." Beatrix sighs while Grayson hardens his jaw looking ahead. "You do know that you should not have done that, right?" Beatrix asks quietly. Grayson shrugs. "Not only was it dangerous, you could have gotten more wounds," Beatrix says. "I do not really care about what would have happened to me. All I cared about was how Malisha was. I tried my best to sit back and watch, but I couldn't." "I understand that." Grayson nods. "Plus any wounds will heal." "The one on your neck has not healed yet," Beatrix points out. "But it will," Grayson replies calmly. It looks like he is about to say
The moment Grayson is home, he sees his mother, and says, "I know you are pissed about the way I left, but I had to."His mother shakes her head. "I am not pissed," she replies. Grayson's mouth drops in shock and he can't even disguise it. His mother smiles, and asks, "How is she?" Grayson's eyes
“Don’t you think you will want to talk about what happened when you are about to get questioned?” Malisha asks him.He shrugs.“I want to tell you about it now. You seem easier to talk to, and it is better to get it over with if I am being honest,” Joshua says.Malisha grins at him, a
In the car, no one says anything. Malisha is still deep in thought about all that Grayson said. She wishes she could get more intel, but it is already too late for that. Looking at the window, she remembers how close she was to finding out the truth. She knew that her thinking about how close
"Are you sick?" Malisha asks him upfront. "I am not," he replies. "You must be sick in the head because there is no logical reason why you are in the bathroom," Malisha says coolly, even though she is anything but. She was angry, hurt and nervous, coming face to face with Gr
