Chapter 9 The birthday party (Part 2)

Mia’s POV…

I am stunned by his outburst. It is embarrassing too.

Jack looks pale. I feel sorry for him. Lance shouldn’t behave in this way. Is he forgetting how close Jack is to us?

I break free from his arms and grumble, "This is too much, Lance. Jack is not only your friend, but also mine. You are overreacting."

I am so furious that my entire body is shaking. Looking at his furious expression, I expect him to say something bad, but instead, he grabs my wrist and drags me along with him.

He is acting as if he did not hear me.

"Lance…"

He ignores my resistance and takes me into the ball.

I freeze in the middle of several couples dancing to the beat of the music. In an instant, my mind goes blank, and I forget every dance step I have ever learned.

While I'm still dazedly looking around, I hear him say, "Dance with me."

He is not asking me, but commanding me.

This further annoys me. He only knows how to put me under pressure. He never tries to understand how I feel.
