Damien's POV

I suspected that her decision to go back to work had something to do with Orion's visit yesterday.

She took a step closer, and our faces were only inches apart now. “I am not your responsibility.”

“You are more than that,” I said. “You always have been.”

Her eyes searched mine like she was looking for something in them.

“You don’t get to do this,” she whispered.

“I am not doing anything except telling you the truth.”

“And what truth is that?”

“That I never stopped loving you,” I said. “And I never stopped hoping that somehow, you would love me back.”

Her lips parted slightly, and for a moment, she did not speak. I leaned in slowly, not sure what would happen next, but not willing to let the moment pass.

She did not move away.

When our lips met, it felt like the most natural thing in the world to happen. As the kiss deepened, I moaned. It felt like a very long time ago since we had been intimate. My hand found her breasts and I felt frustrated with the fabric that prote

Thatcher looked at me long and hard. She had always been honest with me. She was the type to tell the truth even when it was brutal. Brutally so when necessary. She tapped her fingers against the desk for a moment before speaking again.“You cannot meet him in private. It is not safe for either of you. You could trigger him and you could get hurt.” “Then help me arrange something, please,” I begged her. I was on the verge of sounding desperate. She hesitated. “There is a ball,” she said finally. “Simeon is hosting one next week. “A ball?” I echoed. The idea of wearing a dress and smiling in a room full of people did not sit well with me. The last time I had been in a ball, I had been kidnapped. “Yes. Whatever you need to say, I think it's best you say it when there's a lot of people. I don't want you to get hurt again and Simeon is really vulnerable right now. It's the best that I can do.” “Thank you,” I said. All I needed was a way into the palace. “I still think it’s a mista

Olivia's POV We stared at each other in silence for several seconds. The question that hung heavy in the air was, who will retrieve the needle? Neither of us asked the question aloud, but we were thinking about it. “You cannot go, it has not been long since you ran away from there.” He was right. I knew I could defend myself if things got ugly especially knowing that Jeremy was in safe hands but then what happened if I couldn't? What would happen if I froze? “General Thatcher, she can help, can't she? She has access to Simeon's palace,” suggested Orion. “She does but she is loyal to her pack before she's loyal to me. I cannot count on her going back there to retrieve the needle. I cannot tell her about the needle,” I said to Orion, it was simply too dangerous. Besides, no one knew how far Alira's influence ran. Even the most unexpected people could be working for her. We had to be very careful. “So we cannot trust her?” “We cannot trust anybody,” I said to him. He placed both h

Olivia's POV I felt compelled to ask so I did but I was disappointed in her response, “Albert was a means to an end.” I said nothing to her after that. I left the room only to see Damien standing at the door. For his own good, I hoped that he had not been eavesdropping on our conversation. “You can let her go, she saved my life,” I said to Damien. I was not letting her go because I really wanted to buy because I knew that she could lead me to Alira. I knew that Orion's stepmother would continue hiding in the shadows and play perfect Luna. I needed to be able to link her with Alira for anyone to believe that she was actually evil. “That is not how I saw it,” said Damien. He did not look ready to release Prinsca just yet. I wondered if he knew that the child in her womb belonged to one of his own. “Besides, she is pregnant with Albert's child and I know she allowed her brother to kill him,” Damien's tone was full of his anger. “You need to let her go,” I said, offering no explana

Olivia's POV Damien responded to my question with silence. I scoffed, I couldn't believe it. “You told him, already?” “I did not tell him anything but what if I had? Where is the crime in that?” he asked me. “He's been through a lot already. He needs time to…” “Time for what? When will it ever be the right time to tell him that I am his father and not Simeon?” he demanded, he had tears in his eyes but it did not stop me from uttering my next words. “Never. There would never be a right time, Damien. The day I ran away from you to preserve the life of my son, I promised myself that you would never get the chance to call him son just like you would have denied me the opportunity of knowing my only child if you had killed him,” I knew my words would cut him deeply but that was the purpose. I wanted him to know that he had messed up and there was no going back from that. He would have to live with the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life.“Olivia? Please, I am trying,

  • The Alpha’s Banished Mate   Chapter 129

Olivia's POV “You couldn't just say no?” The shock was evident in his face and in his voice. I was shocked too because my mind had actually cooperated with my body to do as I had willed it. “Mum?” Meanwhile, Jeremy had only happiness as an emotion to see me functional. I could see them now and even though Damien was still reeling from the slap, I was happy to see my son. “How long have I been out for?” the question was directed at the both of them but it was Jeremy who answered me, “a fortnight.” “What?” I sat up top quickly which I shouldn't have as my body felt the impact of my words all at once. My body which I could not feel before now felt like I had activated a thousand pins within it.“What's wrong mum? Are you in a lot of pain?” asked Jeremy, looking at me with worry filled eyes. “I’m okay,” I lied but Damien knew at once that I was not telling the truth, “I'll get the doctor,” he said. “The same doctor who told you I had only a couple days to live? Or the one who said
