Olivia's POV.

My head was spinning, my heart ricocheting against my chest as I ran. I was leaving the pack. I know Damien asked me to stay... And he was the Alpha, no one was supposed to disobey him, but I've had enough of him. Between disobeying his treacherous ass and killing my baby, I chose the former.

I kept going forward, deeper into the forest. My feet pounded the forest floor, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I ran with every single strength I possessed. The trees blurred together, their branches whipping past my face like skeletal fingers. I didn't dare look back, fearing what I might see.

Damien's words echoed in my mind: "You will stay at the safe house outside the palace tonight." But I knew I couldn't stay, not after what he’d asked me to do. He didn't want the pregnancy, and I knew why. As the Alpha, having a child with me would ruin his reputation and compromise his position.

But I couldn't bring myself to get rid of the baby, no matter how hard he'd tried to convince me. I couldn’t deny the fact that this child was part of my future.

As I ran, the forest seemed to grow denser, the shadows deepening into dark, menacing pools. My legs ached with every step. I stumbled, and stumbled again, my foot catching on a hidden root, but I managed to catch myself before I fell.

I was weak and needed rest, but time wasn’t at my side. Each second that passed would bring me closer to Damien. I knew I had to keep moving, no matter how exhausted I was.

Suddenly, I felt the ground tremble beneath my feet, and I heard the sound of footsteps, hushed voices carried on the wind. My heart skipped a beat as I realized I wasn't alone; I was being followed.

I tried to keep calm and remain as quiet as I could, but I was already too sweaty, my scent all over the place. The men tracking me would have no trouble following my trail.

At this point, I knew it was over if I didn't do something quickly or find a way out. I began to panic, my heart racing at a fast speed, my eyes scanning the forest for a possible escape route, but I found none.

Just as I thought I'd managed to shake off my pursuers, I bumped into a solid wall of muscle. Damien's face loomed before me, his eyes blazing with fury.

"How did you...?" I began, trying to catch my breathe.

Damien's eyes narrowed. "You really thought you could outrun me, Olivia? You're not even a match for my weakest pack member."

"How did you find me?" I asked still in shock, trying to struggle against his grip.

Damien gave out a wicked smile. "Did you think you could escape from me? I know these trees like the back of my hand. And I knew you'd try to run. You're so predictable." He said full of confidence.”

"But how did you know which way I'd go?" I pressed further still in shock.

Damien chuckled. "You only know one escape route, Olivia. And I knew you'd follow that. As the Alpha, I have access to all the hidden paths. I took a shortcut and intercepted you. It was easy."

I tried to struggle again, but he held me firm. He grabbed me forcefully, his fingers digging deep into my arms. I groaned from the pain as I was forcefully dragged back. The men arrived, their faces expressionless.

"Take her to the safe house," Damien ordered, his voice cold and detached.

The men nodded, their eyes flicking to my struggling form before they reached out to grab me. Damien handed me over to them, not wanting to look me in the eyes as I pleaded, wailing, and crying aloud.

"Please, Damien, let me go," I begged, screaming and hoping he would hear my plead. "I'll never appear in front of you again. I promise."

But Damien's face remained unyielding. "You will do as you're told," he said, his voice without any pity.

My struggles grew weaker as the men dragged me back to the safe house. I was tired, in pain, and needed rest, but not here. I was thrown into the safe house, the door locked behind me. I collapsed onto the floor, my body shaking with sobs.

As the night wore on, I cried myself to sleep, my mind racing with the thoughts of how I would escape and won’t be caught.

Olivia's POV I pulled the hem of my dress down and smoothed it over my thighs. The fabric clung to my skin as though trying to prove a point that I could not hide what I had just done, that I had started something that I could not end, that I was treading a dangerous path. My legs trembled a little from the action. It had been five years after all and honestly Damien had made my legs weak literally. However, I refused to let it show — I was not going to give Damien that pleasure. Damien was watching me, but I refused to meet his eyes. Instead I turned my attention to my hair, trying to get it to its former state before our rendezvous. That done, I adjusted the strap on my shoulder, not because it needed fixing, but because I needed something to do with my hands. He only watched me quietly as I fumbled with my clothes trying desperately to get rid of any indication of what had happened just now. “What does this make us?” he asked me in a voice that told me he was scared to even ask

Simeon's POVMy heart had to be on a marathon as it raced through the entire day. I could not focus at the Council meeting, my Beta was not with me, my Luna had gone off to a work that I was not sure she would return, everything was falling apart. I felt like I had pushed myself to the edge of a precipice and there was no one there to save me from falling.“The matter on ground is about your heir. What do you intend to do about your heir?” asked one of the councilmen, prompting me to come out of my reverie.“I have a son, his name is Jeremy,” I said, my voice reverberating round the room. I had had this conversation with my council several times and they were still adamant at the issue of my heir. I had told them time without number that I was not going to budge on this matter and that was not going to happen this time.I saw them look among themselves awkwardly.“In terms of biology, Jeremy…”“A lot of monarchs adopt children and it has never been a problem. Jeremy was not just adopt

Olivia’s POVI was going to repay Simeon in his own coin by sleeping with his worst adversary. He had done it to me and so I saw no reason why I should not pursue revenge this way. Besides, it would be like killing two birds with one stone. I had never gotten revenge on Brielle for taking Damien away from me and since the two were still together (as far as I knew), it was the perfect opportunity to get back at her for what she had done. I was going to sleep with Simeon and thus cheat on my husband and with that determination, I stepped out of the carriage. I saw Damien standing outside the carriage, he looked like he had been waiting for me. I flashed him a warm smile which I knew he found unusual by the expression on his face. “Damien, you look quite handsome this morning,” I said to him. When we had parted ways, I had not been speaking to him and here I was hoping to charm him with my smile. I understood how that could be confusing for him. “Uhm… I don't understand,” he said, h

Olivia's POV The ride to the war college was a quiet one. I saw the many questions written expressly on my son's face but he asked nothing, he knew the answers already and I knew that he feared that if I said them out loud it would make it all real. There was one thing however that I wanted to clarify, one thing that I needed to know. And that was if Jeremy had heard the part about his biological father. But I could not ask him directly, I had to find a way around it. “You keep looking at my wrist,” I said, I had been watching him throughout the ride so far and he had not taken his eyes off my wrist. I knew the question on his mind was if Simeon had really hurt me or if Simeon had been right and it had just been a mistake. “Are you in a lot of pain, mum?” he asked me, my heart broke at the pity he felt for me in his voice. “No, sweetheart, not at all,” I said with a smile that I hoped reached my eyes. “Did dad do it?” he asked quietly. I was at a crossroads. I could tell him th

  • The Alpha’s Banished Mate   Chapter 100

Olivia's POV The morning was cool, the morning breeze bore none of the heat and anguish that burned within me. It had been three days since Prinsca's pregnancy revelation and in those three days I had barely eaten or slept. I had lost my appetite to live let alone eat. The only thing that kept me going was Jeremy. I turned away from the view and moved toward my dresser. My uniform hung neatly beside it, pressed and folded, ready for the day. Today I had a lecture on tactical misdirection, and I would be prepared. I had to take refuge in my work, I needed something to distract me from the knot in my chest. Behind me, Mirabel, my maid, moved with soft precision. She said nothing, only came forward with the deep navy dress I wore to teach. It was my favourite outfit for the war college, it made me look serious and that was how I wanted my students to view me. I slipped out of my robe and into the blue dress. There was a knock—no, not a knock. The door was opened without an invitation

  • The Alpha’s Banished Mate   Chapter 99

Simeon's POV My mind was made up. I was going to lie my way out of this situation. I could never admit to sleeping with Prinsca even though we had been at it for five years.I called Olivia's name one more time but she wouldn't answer me, she would not do much as I look back. I understood that she was angry, the only thing left to do was to give her some time to herself. I needed to give her time to realise that her best shot was with me.She couldn't possibly go back to Damien after everything that he had done to her right?Only that I had done the exact same thing to her.But this was different, it had to be. Staying by her side all these years had to count for something.I ran a hand through my hair, pacing about the corridor. The wind was cold against my skin, reminding me that what I had done to Olivia had been heartless and I would never be able to forget it. I was also going to live the rest of my life in regret no matter the decision I made. I could still see the look in Oli
