Olivia's POV

I responded to her greeting with a smile. I watched with a lazy eye as she cleaned my room and sometime after that I fell asleep again due to exhaustion. I was woken up much later by my son who with no regard for my wounded side shook my body until I was wide awake.

I groaned in pain as I sat up and Jeremy who was an observant child noticed at once that something was wrong with me.

“Mum, are you okay?” he asked me but i covered my pain with a smile and ruffled his hair like I loved to do in the morning.

“How are you, big man?” I asked him playfully but the colour of worry on his face had not left his face.

“What happened to you?” he asked, his tone almost sounded agitated.

“Nothing, nothing, I promise, okay?” I assured him while doing my best to get out of bed without wincing in pain.

“You missed breakfast, you never miss breakfast,” he said as though that was evidence that something was wrong with me.

“It’s only breakfast, I’ll eat lunch with you,” I wished I co

  • The Alpha’s Banished Mate   Chapter 144

Olivia's POVI had crawled out of that day to meet no one in the study. I forgot about the book for a while too because my life was just more important than some book. The fear of execution had been my greatest nightmare in my childhood. It had been because lots of servants got executed, even those who had been wrongfully accused or just unfortunate to get caught up in a misunderstanding. But curiosity got the best of me and it was not the book this time that led me to the study even though I had told myself that. It was the hidden room in the Alpha's study I was curious about.I returned to the same place I had hidden myself and discovered it was a short corridor that led to another room. I had discovered so many other tunnels and secret passageways and by the time I was twelve, I could disappear for days at a time and no one would miss me.When I turned fourteen, I had a plan to escape the palace but I had fallen in love around that time and soon those plans had faded into the backg

Olivia's POV “I think Austin has left,” said Orion to me. I could not make out his face in the dark but his voice sounded scared.“You can't go back in there,” I told him, holding his hand to stop him from going into the study.“I cannot stay here, forever,” he said to me, sounding frightened.“I know, follow me,” I said to him. I held onto his hand and walked slowly through the narrow space that we were in.We walked for a while and then I hit a wall. I paused, then tapped the wall six times. It opened to a room that no one but me knew in this palace. By the look of things this room had remained untouched.I glanced at the book that I had stolen from the Alpha's desk and it brought a smile to my face. I spied something else too and picked it up.It was full of dust and as I lifted it, a lot of dust blew up in my nose.“What's this?” Orion asked me.I tore a part of the large paper, “Here, this is going to take you out of the blood moon pack.”“Olivia? What's happening?” he asked me,

Damien's POV I made sure Austin was out of the hallway completely before reentering the study.“You can come out now,” I called out in the room. No one answered me and not a single thing creaked to show that there were people hiding somewhere here. I was beginning to feel stupid right about now. I could not understand how they had disappeared but I was about to find out for myself.“Olivia!” I shouted but I received no response. She was just gone, just like that?“This is ridiculous! It's not funny anymore! You need to come out now!” I screamed but I was only rewarded with silence.“Olivia?” but it was all quiet.I sunk into my chair, perplexed and tired. I had received troubling news on all fronts today and I feared that I may have been played like a fool by Olivia and Orion. Although, the young prince looked very scared. I wanted to give him the benefit of doubt but how could I? And where the hell were they? There was a knock on the door, “who is there?”The response I got was Oliv

Damien's POV“Someone kidnapped him yesterday. At least, that is what his stepmother thinks. Damien, there's a lot happening over there. It's uhm…”I was looking under my desk to be sure that Orion and Olivia were not there. It was clear which made me slightly worried. I looked around and I could not spot them, I looked at the window and it was locked from the inside.Where the hell were they?“Are you looking for something?” Austin asked, seeing my eyes roam the room.“No, no,” I fixed my gaze at him, “you should sit.”He sat down and I sat too. I was not comfortable, given that I was not sure where Orion and Olivia were but I had to pretend.“One of our spies in Orion's palace sent me a message last night. Apparently, Lady Bingham Orion has sent men to look for Orion. She has not informed her husband that his son is missing. She believes that he was kidnapped,” Austin paused and I feigned surprise at his news. Any other reaction would have told him that I knew something more and I w

Olivia's POV “...even if…” I paused as I tried to rack my brain at that last part. I could not believe that I had forgotten the entire sentence.“What if she was talking to somebody?” asked Orion, his face still pale from fear. I was beginning to worry that he might actually faint.“You should sit, Orion,” I told him. I moved closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, hoping it would help ground him.A knock interrupted our discussion.Damien walked over to the door to see who it was and when he opened the door, I heard Austin's voice, “I come beating news, Damien. We need to speak now.”Damien turned to look at us; his body was shielding Austin's sight from us.Orion made a gesture letting Damien know that he could not be seen by Austin.“Well, uhm, let's talk in the library,” said Damien to Austin.“In the library? Who is here with you?” he asked, his voice noted his suspicion and confusion.“Are you sleeping with Olivia already?” asked Austin, his voice carrying his disbelie

  • The Alpha’s Banished Mate   Chapter 139

Olivia's POV Perhaps it was time to read Damien in on what was happening. I looked at Orion, it was his decision to make as much of this affected him. “I trust Damien. Besides, my life is at stake. The ministers are rallying behind her and there are whispers of taking me out to put her son in power,” Orion said, his voice trembling from the fear he felt within. I felt nothing but genuine pity for him. “Should Austin be present in this meeting? He is my Beta and…” “No!” Orion and I said at the same time. “What you are about to hear could get you killed,” said Orion, his tone taking on a grave note so that it was quite obvious that this was dreadful. So many people had died already and from the look of things, so many people were still going to die. “Okay, perhaps we ought to adjourn this to my study. Someone could eavesdrop on our conversation here,” said Damien, his tone bore uncertainty. We filed out of the parlour and Damien led the way to his study. When the door to the stud
