Simeon's POV

I had woken up with a sense of unease. The corridor was too quiet. I adjusted the hem of my robe and walked into the dim hallway that was lit by a few torches here and there. I looked, because I had a strange feeling creeping its way into my gut, something that pulled me to stand up from my bed and jump on Jeremy. I did not know why exactly, for my instincts were barely wrong, so I knew I just had to.

I continued walking down the corridor. A cold gust of wind blew by, lifting the hem of my robe and making a shiver crawl down my spine. Just as I slowly began to approach Jeremy's door, I noticed a trail of blood, and my heart skipped several beats. Why had there been blood on the floor? Was Jeremy hurt? Was he alright?

I could not fight the intrusive thoughts of worry creeping into my mind. I could see images of me seeing his lifeless body on the bed, mutilated beyond measure and it was a struggle to stop my mind from forming those images.

I rushed towards the door and pu

Simeon’s POVMy chest heaved in satisfaction as I saw the message from Austin. “Selene had taken Jeremy with him from the hills, where the pack healer’s cottage is. From my observation, she headed north. That was all I know,” I read out his message.I smiled and nodded. “This was enough information, Dear Austin.” I jumped out of my bed and entered my bathroom to have my bath. After that, I came out, moisturized and went into my closet. As I approached the cabinet where I kept my armor and gears, I smiled. “It’s been a while– baby.” I said, opening it, and I beheld my silver plate and leather woven armor, shining back at me. I carried it out with the steel hanger I used in keeping it and I dropped it on the bed. A knock on the door made me turn, I had worn my underpants and was about to brush my wet hair, so I would blow it dry. “Who’s there?” I asked. “It’s Gwen.” The small voice came from behind the door. “Gwen? What does she want now?” I muttered, picked my towel and wrapped it

Olivia’s POV“Damien thought he would toy with me? But no. I would take the chess board now and I would play this game with him.” I heaved a deep breath, rushed into the bathroom and I saw my face in the mirror. My eyes were red and puffy. “How can I go out to meet Mum, looking like that? Damien had already made me look so pathetic and pitiful by telling Mum what happened. It would hurt her more to see me this way.” I rolled my eyes as I thought of what Damien had did. “I shouldn’t think about him anymore. It just hurts so much. He had done what he thought was right, it was my turn now.” I splashed some water on my face and then dried it with a towel. On my way back into the room, I ran my hand through my hair several times as I arranged it, then I applied my powder. I look better now. I smiled at the mirror in my room and then I picked my bag, heading out of the room.No one would see the weak side of me anymore, not even Damien. No one. I reached the corridor and I headed off t

Olivia’s POV“You didn’t do anything stupid, did you?” I asked, my heart racing. My thoughts flew back to when I saw Austin grinning like that. “Wait, was that why you went to Austin’s room?” Damien nodded. I gulped, and continued questioning him, “So, tell me. What was the end of the bargain?” I asked him. He stared at me as he grounded his teeth, speechlessly, turned and looked away, avoiding my eyes. But why? Why did he have nothing to say? Has he done something stupid now? “Damien, speak with me,” I growled as I grabbed his shirt, shaking him. He turned, faced me and smiled. “I love you, Olivia. I loved Jeremy and I want the betterment of the pack too. I don’t want to do whatever would make you stay unhappy all your life.” I blinked at him. “What do you mean by that?” I asked. He nodded and licked his lips. “I had to make the deal and whatever decision I had made, for your own well being, and I am not changing it. Olivia.” My ears rang as his words. How cold and strict they

Olivia’s POVSpeak up!!” I yelled, pushing him harder. He gritted his teeth and grabbed my hand and shoved it off him. “Get your hand off me, Olivia. I did nothing to him, what can I do to him?” He asked, sneering as he stared at Damien and I.“Hey, don’t you dare touch her,” Damien growled, pointing a finger at him. Austin raised his hand up. “I wasn’t planning to touch her. But she had almost choked me. I had to help myself, you see?” He heaved a sigh and ran his hand through his air. “What is wrong with you, Olivia?” He asked, facing me.I blinked at him, then went back to Damien. “Hey. What were you doing with him?” I asked. “Why were you in his room to begin with?” Damien gritted his teeth, looking away from me. I was sure that he wasn’t bewitched. If he was he would never have tried to save me with Austin shoved me off like that. I took his hand. “We need to talk. About a lot.” I said to him. He nodded and replied. “IU have a lot to tell you about as well, my love, come.”He

Olivia's POV“Why would Damien do this? How could he call Mum over here without my notice, now this would only stress her out,” I thought as I sat beside Mum.“You are a strong shewolf. I knew I had given birth to a warrior, the night I had you,” Mum said.I swallowed, wondering what she was driving at. What and what did Damien tell her?I hope it wasn't everything. I would have to deal with him later. First, I had to take care of Mum.“There was no need for you to come, Mum,” I told her. “We were almost heading home.”Mum stared at me and pressed her lips into a thin line. Then she nodded her head. “I came to take you home with me.” I raised a brow at her. “What do you mean?” I asked, shaking my head. “Are you trying to say I can't come home alone?”“I should at least be of support to you. I told you Damien had told me everything, I didn’t know how you would take it.” I nodded. Maybe Damien had told her about Jeremy. Why would he do that? Who asked him to. Jeremy was my son, I shou

Simeon's POVI kicked the door to my pack house open and I stormed out into the garden to receive some fresh air.Anger surging in my chest as I thought of how incompetent Damien and Austin must have been that they couldn't look after a child. How was Jeremy taken right in front of their eyes? I still couldn't understand. If I were there, would he be safe–?I blinked and ran my hand through my hair, remembering what I had done to him when he was with me.Was he really that safe with me? I thought. But I shoved it aside in anger and paced the garden. “Still, I wouldn't let harm come to him. I'm sure of that. He was my boy– he is my son.”Then– I caught a wimp of her scent. I spun, my eyes wide opened as I searched for her.“Why am I–” my words fell off my mouth when I saw her. Her hair waved in the soft wind and she had her back to me.Still, she didn't notice I was looking at her. What was she doing here?Did she come to tell me about what had happened? I thought as I went closer to h
