Chapter 3: Worry

"Where have you been?" Hail asked as soon as he opened the door. Magnus, Saint, and Silas greeted him with a smile. Hail is wearing an apron, he just finished cooking their lunch.

"In the middle of the woods," Saint replied. He took a pitcher of water from the fridge and handed it to the other two. Tension built up which made Saint uncomfortable. Hail gave a questioning look to the three of them. He knows something isn't right. They might've seen something wrong.

"We encountered strange humans there," Silas started. After drinking his water, he sat at the table's chair. He told Hail everything that happened earlier. From the letters to their frustrating conversation, everything is detailed.

"How did they know this place? I thought she already closed it?" Hail asked. This place is secluded from the public. They should be the only people who know about it.

"I don't know. We saw them holding the invitation that's supposed to be sent to our friends. They also want to go out of here," Saint shared. Another problem is that Jet and Raze surely read the invitation. For sure, they already knew about the celebration. But they did not worry that much, those two won't last in the forest. And the party is exclusive only for their kind, those who are not invited can't come.

"Did you helped them?" Hail asked again.

"No. They are environmentalists. We all know the danger they possess once they had a lot of information about here, right?" Magnus replied. He lent a hand to Hail who is preparing their breakfast on the dining table. All of them know how bad it is to entertain environmentalists inside their home.

"Yeah. So did you just let them?" Hail asked again. He can't help but to overthink about the possible happening if Jet and Raze will stay in the forest for a long time.

"Of course. I just hope we won't encounter them next time," Saint said confidently. He chose to protect his brothers even though deep inside, he still wants to talk more with Raze and Jet.

"I really hope you're safe out there, Jet and Raze", he said on the back of his mind and erased the thought immediately before his brothers hear it. Their telekinesis is really powerful that they can communicate kilometers away.

"Okay. Saint, please call Claude, he's in the room. He received a lot of work today, he haven't eaten breakfast," Hail ordered.

Claude and Hail are the eldest of the Red, Magnus in the middle, and Saint and Silas being the youngest; all of them are a month older. They are not brothers by blood but they already together since birth. No one knows where are they biological parents. A gigantic castle is where they live. Even though their home is wide and tall, they still bond a lot. They were taken care by royal maids when they were little kids and became independent when Hail and Claude finished their studies.

The five of them ate the steak that Hail cooked. No one is talking while eating, a manner they always do in front of the food. The elder's dish is delicious but Saint can't seem to enjoy it. He's worried about Jet and Raze. Are they still on that place where they left?

"Claude, what's bothering you?" Silas asked Claude, who also seems uneasy for a moment. They are using their power to avoid creating noise.

"It's just about work. Focus on your food" Claude answered.

After eating, all of them came to their respective rooms to have a rest. Claude finished his work in his room while Hail played video games in the living room. Magnus and Silas went to buy food stocks. And Saint, he's in his room for a couple of hours. He's worried about the environmentalists for he knows how dangerous the forest is after the skies get dark. He sat by the window and silently admired the stars. In this way, he can relax for a while. The night sky is his comfort. He feels free and safe when the skies are clear, showing off thousands of twinkling stars and the bright full moon.

On the other side, Jet and Raze found a small hut. They can't converse properly for they are still bombarded with different emotions. Anger, fear, shock, and concern. Good thing, they brought ready-to-eat meals and fed their rumbling stomach. Raze is already sleeping on the table but Jet is still awake. He can't sleep knowing they might be in danger. Who knows who or what will attack them while they're snoring? He tried to call again his officemates and president, even his parents, but they're still out of the line. He's frustrated-- no he's mad about their situation. He reached out for his friends and family but they're also out of line. The unexpected interaction between Silas, Saint, and Magnus kept Jet's mind busy.

They're strange in a good and bad way. He felt chills when Silas looked at him and heard Magnus' cold voice. As for Saint, well, he looks so innocent and pure. His presence is completely different form his brothers. Jet's mind became a pool of question abut them. Where do they actually live? What do they know about Red Woods? Why do they keep on refusing to give answers that may help the two environmentalists get out? They still need to talk about them, even if it's not on his will.

By staring at the peaceful night sky and counting the stars his eyes could see, Jet refrains to sleep. He might look like a fool but that's the only way to keep himself awake. Their phones are dying and they still need to go outside tomorrow. He's already missing his bed.

Jet flinched when he heard some footsteps nearby. He can't tell if it's a person because the sound of steps is as light as if a feather is touching the dried leaves. He had a little fight with himself if he should go out or stay still. Then he decided to take his first option. His heart is beating so loud. Could it be the werewolves? He took slow and silent steps, hoping to see the creature lurking around the hut. But before he could even lift his head, he stumbled on the doorstep.
