Gabriel

Persefoni? Who the hell doesn't have last name? I guess I'll have to look into her myself. As I walked into her office which is connected to mine, I stared at her for few seconds before entering my office with the instruction that she should come in with me.

She walked in and sat down on the empty seat adjacent to mine. I kept staring at her; there is something about her that doesn't settle well with me. "I believe Mrs. Claus already briefed you on your duties here right?"

"Yes sir, she did"

I know what I'm about to say might be considered personal, but fuck personal, nothing about my staff is personal for me as long as the work for me. "How come you don't have a last name?"

She frowned at my question "Guess I was never given one"

What the hell means she was never given one? Even people in foster homes have last names. I didn't want to prey so that it wouldn't look as if I have any interest in her or her family. So I opted for another question. "Did she tell you how I like my coffee?"

"Yes sir she did, black and warm"

"Good" I pointed towards the door "why don't we start with that?"

She stood up "Okay sir, I'll be back in a jiffy"

Immediately she left, I tried to focus on my work for today but my mind kept drifting back to my new secretary. She's a beautiful lady, with good fashion sense, but when I say my mind keeps drifting to her, I don't mean in a sexual way rather in a disturbing way. Persefoni? Does she even know the meaning of that name? Bringer of death... What the actual fuck?

She walked in with my coffee and dropped it on the table.

"You can go through my schedule for the week through the computer on your desk; Elizabeth must have arranged everything so it can be easy for you to access. I need my schedule for today. Just send it to my mail"

"Okay sir"

"That is all, you can go"

As she left my office, I stared into the cup of coffee on my table. I shook my head at how stupid I look right now. Gabriella is going to laugh her ass off if she knows what is running through my head right now.

The day went by as stressful as it can be, but Persefoni didn't give me much trouble despite the fact that she's new to work.

I met her still working on something just as I was about to leave, I looked down at my wrist watch before staring back up at her. "Your work time ended two hours ago, what are you still doing here?"

"I wanted to finish sorting these files for tomorrow"

"Suit yourself... But if you don't want to spend the night here, you better leave before the security locks the gate"

*************

I walked into my house to see my twin sister Gabriella and her seven months old daughter in my house, in my kitchen preparing God knows what. "I should take my spare keys from you Gabby"

"Welcome home brother"

I walked to where she laid my niece Vicky and carried her "What are you doing?"

"Cooking?"

"I'm not blind Gabby, I asked you what you are doing here."

She shrugged "I'm cooking dinner"

I cradled Vicky who kept turning as if she's uncomfortable "Is your husband even aware that you're here?"

"He knows you need me"

"Jeez Gabriella I am fine; it's three years already... Give me a break"

She dropped the cooking spoon noisily into the sink before turning to face me "It's been three years but you haven't gotten over it. You don't visit mum and dad; you don't even talk to her parents Gabriel. You and I know that you are not over it" she took a deep breath "I'm not judging you for it Gabriel but please don't shut me out, don't do this alone"

And finally she let out that wail she's been holding in. I handed her over to her mother and walked into my room. I never came down for dinner not even when she knocked. She eventually grew tired of waiting and left.

Gabby has been so worried about me after that incident. She left her husband's company and decided to work for me. She drops by every night to cook dinner and keep me company until her husband blows off her phone with his constant calling. I've warned her countless times that this new found habit of hers is going to put a strain in her marriage if she's not careful but she simply replied 'family first'

I turned at the other end of the bed and stared at her picture. I closed my eyes to think of her, but instead I thought about her_ Persefoni

I picked up my phone and called my guy at the system and he picked

"Hey Gabriel, did you check the time at all or did you just call pick up your phone and call?"

I checked the wall clock and noticed that it's five minutes past twelve "Sorry man, I didn't check the time"

"It's okay, what's the matter?"

"I need you to check someone's info for me in the system"

"Who?"

"Persefoni"

"Persefoni who?"

"That's the problem David, she say she has no last name"

He sniffled laughter "who doesn't have a last name Gabriel?"

"Persefoni... I guess"

He cleared his throat "Wait a minute, you're serious?"

"As I can ever be Dave, I'll send you her picture. I need her info; get it for me in any way possible."

"Sure thing Man, I'll do that"

"Thank you very much, I appreciate"

I ended the call and walked into the toilet. I opened my pills, took two out of it, drank it then retreated to bed, while praying for a night free from nightmares.

Persefoni Five months laterEverything seem to be going perfectly fine. The baby is growing healthily, Sophia is more welcoming towards me and Logan finally moved the witches to New York… and of course, the daughter’s of Morgana refused to leave with him.Oh! The most important news! How could I have forgotten that?I’m getting married next month. You damn heard me right! Gabe asked me to be his wife last month, and I said yes. Come next month, I’m going to be officially Mrs. Washington.Okay! So today is my last fitting and I’m so excited. My phone and I took my eyes away from the road to search for my phone. When I saw Gabby’s name, I knew why she’s ringing me. “Gabby? I swear, I’m almost there. You’ll see me in five.”“You better hurry Persefoni,” she warned “your wedding planner is gradually getting upset, and I can’t stall her any longer.”“Tell her to give me five minutes, I swear it, I’ll be there.” I increased my speed. “Offer to buy her coffee…or maybe” The call was interrup

  • Refrainment   Chapter 41

GabrielThere is a moment in everyone’s life we have to die. Death is something inevitable in the life of anything that eats, breath and reproduces. The most important thing that matters is the legacy we leave, the love we showered on people during our lifetime. These are what matters, necessary things that we have to do before we meet our end, so we’ll be missed, missed and remembered by many. I watched the priest with aloofness. This day reminds me of the day I buried Susan, and it’s not a memory that I want to remember right now. Sophia cried ugly tears beside me, while Gabby and Claire tried their best to console her. You heard me, Claire; somehow mom managed to invite her for the funeral despite my warnings. I felt someone’s hand grab mine. I stared at the ring unclad finger. She squeezed lightly, offering me comfort that I’ve decided not to agree that I need. Yes, he’s my father, but I haven’t been in a good relationship for many years, I only tried to fix things recently and

PersefoniFor a moment, I thought Canine was going to ignore what she saw earlier. I told her indirectly that I do not want to discuss the baby in the presence of these people, but she just had to ruin everything for me; now Gabe is never going to let me go.“Persefoni?” Gabe growled. “Say something.”Blinking rapidly, I tried not to glare at Canine. It will not only be rude to glare at a descendant of Morgana , it will be outright disastrous. “Can we do this later? In the absence of extra pairs of eyes.”He didn’t like it, not one bit but he let it go, for now. Grateful for his understanding, I focused on Canine. “What do you mean this prophecy isn’t about me but my child?” They exchanged glances, communicating silently. “Say something!” I snapped and Logan quickly grabbed my hand reminding me of my place.Sucking in deep breath, I willed myself to calm down. “I’m sorry for snapping at you, just that the tension and silence is killing me.”Gabe stared at Logan’s hand which is still h

Gabriel I do not know how to prepare while visiting witches coven, but I did pack a suitcase. Persefoni watched me as I grabbed my power bank along with my phone.“What are you doing with that?” Persefoni asked, her lips stretched with a smile. “You honestly think you’re going to need that?”I stared at the two objects in my hand, confused at which object is the topic of discussion. “I’m a business man Persefoni, I need my phone with me at all time.” I looked at her hand. “Where is your suitcase?”“Outside.” She returned around and walked towards the entrance door. “I was talking about the power bank, you won’t need it over there.”Dominic opened the car trunk and placed our bag in. “Why won’t I need it? I didn’t know witches have steady.” I teased. Her deep laughter vibrated throughout the car which made me smile. I miss this moment, moments that I make her smile.“When I said you don’t need the power bank, I didn’t say that because there will steady light supply, I said that becaus

Persefoni This is insane. I know I shouldn’t carry on with this, but I can’t bear to disappoint Gabby. I would have carried on with this if Caro didn’t give me the best news of my life.I’m pregnant. I’m carrying an evidence of the love Gabe and I shared.Placing my hand on my stomach, I thought of how best to break the news to Gabby. She will surely to disappointed. I will too, if someone gave me such good hope, not to shatter it, I will be disappointed too.According to Caro, there is no way I’ll do this without harming myself and the baby, she went further to explain that maybe the prophecy wasn’t for me, but for my baby. Nevertheless, there is only one way to find out. I’ll have to pay the daughters of Morgana a visit, either today or tomorrow.Gabriel will be ecstatic about this baby, but I don’t know if I want to share this moment with him. I don’t even know if I can trust him again, especially when that bitch is still roaming round bf street of New York. Gabriel hurt me…he lit

  • Refrainment   Chapter 37

GabrielEverything sounds so crazy and surreal to me. Persefoni knows how much I love her, how much I need her, yet she's ready to sacrifice her life for a man who is paying for his sins. Rubbing my neck stiffly, I tried to get rid of the sudden ache but to no avail. Logan noticing just how hard this news is for me, he refilled my glass. "You are the only one who can talk her out of this Washington. She obviously doesn't listen to me anymore." I chuckled at his statement. "It's true." he argued. "I've been telling her to visit the daughters of Morgana since thy kingdom come, but she's yet to pay them a visit."Daughters of Morgana are bad news, Persefoni educated me on that. The only reason why she has to visit the daughters of Morgana is when she takes something she isn't suppose to consume. "Why did you insist on her paying them a visit?" a thought occurred to me. "Did she drink coffee?" Surely she cannot be that sucidial. He rolled his eyes at my question. "Persefoni hates coffe
