“Your husband is celebrating his first love’s anniversary tonight. If you want to know, come to the Grand Aurora Hotel, Main Ballroom.”

Rosemary’s chest pounded wildly. Her fingers trembled as she read the mysterious message.

“No… this must be some cheap joke,” she whispered. But the more she tried to ignore it, the tighter the knot of curiosity strangled her heart.

With hurried steps, she grabbed her coat, clutched her bag, and rushed to the hotel mentioned in the message. A light drizzle dampened the streets, the city lights glowing faintly through the mist.

The Grand Aurora Hotel’s ballroom was filled with the clink of crystal glasses and the laughter of guests. A soft orchestra played, while the scent of wine mixed with expensive perfumes lingered in the air.

Rosemary’s eyes swept the room. And then… she saw him.

Her husband—Adrian.

The man stood in an elegant black suit, smiling warmly. In front of him was a young woman in a striking red gown, her face radiant as if the night was made just for her.

And in Adrian’s hands—a black velvet box slowly opened.

“For you, darling,” Adrian’s voice echoed clearly, carried by the microphone. “This diamond necklace is the symbol of my first love, one that never fades no matter how much time passes.”

Applause erupted throughout the room. Laughter and cheer filled the air.

Rosemary froze. Her feet seemed glued to the marble floor as she witnessed the scene before her.

A diamond necklace? A symbol of first love?

She swallowed hard, forcing down the surge of anger rising in her chest. Then, with firm steps, she pushed through the crowd.

“Adrian!” Her voice rang out, loud and sharp, silencing the orchestra instantly. All eyes turned toward her.

Adrian’s smile vanished as he turned.

“Rosemary?”

The woman in red looked at her with surprise. Guests began to whisper; some even stifled chuckles.

Rosemary moved closer, her eyes blazing. “What is the meaning of this, Adrian? Giving a diamond necklace—to another woman—in front of everyone? What day is this supposed to be?”

Adrian sighed, placing the box into the woman’s hands before stepping forward.

“Rosemary… you shouldn’t be here.”

“Shouldn’t be here?!” She fought to steady her voice. “I am your wife! I have every right to know why my husband is flaunting his love for another woman in public!”

The whispers grew louder. Phones were raised, recording the scandal.

The woman in red smirked. “Maybe because I am his first love, while you… were just a late arrival.”

“Silence!” Rosemary shot her a burning glare. “I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to my husband.”

Adrian’s face hardened. “Enough, Rosemary. You’re embarrassing yourself.”

She stepped closer, her voice trembling with fury. “The only embarrassment here is you, Adrian! A husband who betrays his vows!”

Gasps rippled through the crowd. Some laughed, some watched in tense silence.

Suddenly, Adrian snatched the microphone from the host. His face was tense, but his voice rang loud.

“Fine. If you want the truth, I’ll say it here, in front of everyone.”

Rosemary’s eyes widened.

“From tonight onward,” Adrian said coldly, “I divorce you, Rosemary.”

The world collapsed around her. Rosemary’s heart stopped for a moment. Laughter broke from several corners of the room.

“What… what did you just say?” Her voice quivered, barely audible.

Adrian’s gaze was firm, unshaken. “You heard me. I divorce you. You are no longer part of my life.”

“Adrian!” she cried in despair. “How can you say that—here, in front of everyone? After everything I’ve done for you?”

The woman in red hooked her arm through Adrian’s, smiling triumphantly. “It’s over, Rosemary. You’re just the past. Adrian chooses me now.”

Rosemary staggered, nearly collapsing. Her hand clutched her bag tightly.

“This… this is insane.” Tears welled in her eyes. “You’ve truly humiliated me in front of everyone.”

A man in the crowd chuckled, whispering, “What a pity. His wife thrown away like garbage.”

Laughter followed. Some women covered their mouths, suppressing giggles.

Rosemary’s face burned. Her entire body shook, torn between rage and heartbreak.

“Isn’t it enough that you betrayed me, Adrian? Must you also mock me in front of them all?!”

Adrian turned his face away, cold. “Go home, Rosemary. Don’t make a scene.”

“A scene?” She stepped so close she nearly touched his chest. “You started this! You stabbed me in the back, then stripped me bare before the world!”

The woman in red laughed lightly. “Oh, Rosemary, you should know better. First love always wins.”

Rosemary turned on her, her eyes blazing red with fury. “First love? True love doesn’t destroy another woman’s marriage!”

The room erupted again.

Adrian raised his hand, signaling the orchestra to resume, as though trying to end the drama. But Rosemary stopped him.

“No, Adrian. You won’t walk away so easily.” Her voice trembled, but it was sharp. “I’ll make sure everyone knows who you really are. A coward, a traitor, and a man who knows nothing about the sanctity of marriage vows.”

Adrian glared at her, then spoke coldly, loud enough for all to hear: “You’re no longer my wife, Rosemary.”

Tears streamed down her face. “It won’t be that easy, Adrian. I’ll make sure you regret humiliating me tonight.”

She turned and walked away through the crowd of guests—half sneering, half stunned.

Behind her, the laughter of the woman in red and the sound of music swallowed what was left of her pride.

Rosemary stepped out of the ballroom on shaky legs, but her eyes hardened. A tear nearly fell, but her lips whispered through the storm inside her:

“I won’t let this drama end on your terms, Adrian.”

“Pour me another.”Adrian’s voice was hoarse, his eyes bloodshot, his breath reeking of alcohol. He slumped deep into the black leather sofa of his office, shirt half unbuttoned, tie loosened, the half-empty bottle of whiskey sitting on the low table before him.Markus stood by the door, his expression heavy with disappointment. “That’s enough, Adrian. You’ve had too much already.”Adrian turned his hollow gaze toward him. “Do you think if I stop drinking, I’ll forget all of this? No, Markus. The company is falling apart, the investors are gone, and Rosemary…” his throat tightened, his voice breaking, “Rosemary slammed the door in my face. She would rather see me ruined than ever come back.”Markus pulled a chair over and sat across from him. “Adrian, listen to me. You have to start accepting reality. Rosemary may never come back. You can beg, kneel, even bleed yourself dry—but she’s chosen her path.”Adrian slammed his glass onto the table, amber liquid spilling. “You think I don’t k

“Rosemary! Open this door, I know you’re inside!”Adrian stood in front of a modest house on the outskirts of the city, pounding on the brown wooden door with desperate fists. His breathing was ragged, his suit drenched from the rain that had only just ceased.Inside, footsteps approached. Slowly, the door creaked open, revealing Rosemary. Her hair fell loosely around her shoulders, her face bare of makeup yet effortlessly graceful. But her eyes—those once warm and loving eyes—were now cold, sharp as blades.“What do you want now, Adrian?” she asked flatly, voice devoid of emotion.“I need to talk to you. Please, give me a moment,” Adrian pleaded, bracing his hand against the door so it wouldn’t close again.Rosemary sighed, fighting to hold back the storm within. “I have nothing to do with you. Leave, before I lose my patience.”“I’m not leaving until you hear me out,” Adrian’s voice rose, soaked in desperation. Her gaze hardened. Then she pulled the door wider. “Fine. Come in. Say w

“Adrian, you need to swallow this reality right now!”Markus slammed the financial report folder onto the glass desk in Adrian’s office. His voice cracked, trembling with barely contained rage. “This company is on the brink of bankruptcy! The only way out is to find Rosemary.”Adrian, slouched in his chair with hollow eyes and a weary face, straightened immediately. “Stop saying her name in front of me!” he barked, his voice hoarse but still dripping with pride.Markus stared at him sharply, unflinching. “I don’t care about your ego. You can hate her for the rest of your life, but the truth is crystal clear: without Rosemary, Adrian Corp is dead. Every investor has said the same thing.”Adrian stood, dragging his heavy steps toward the wide window. His gaze was empty as he looked out at the city below. “I can hire another designer. The world is full of talent.”Markus let out a harsh scoff. “If that’s true, then why hasn’t a single investor believed in those other designers? Why do th

“Adrian! You need to see this right now!”Markus’s voice was heavy as he shoved open the office door without knocking. His hand gripped a stack of documents, his face tense.Adrian, who was sipping his coffee, immediately looked up, his brow furrowed. “What now? Don’t make my headache worse!”Markus slammed the files onto the desk. “This is the loss report after the launching two days ago. Did you really think I’d stay quiet while everyone abandons this company?”Adrian glanced lazily at the documents, then set his cup down. “I know the investors are angry. I can explain.”“Explain?” Markus scoffed bitterly. “Can you explain how fifty billion rupiah went up in smoke for failed gowns? Or maybe you can explain why every single investor pulled their funds all at once? They’re even demanding their money back!”Adrian stood abruptly, his voice rising. “I can’t return that money! It’s already been spent on premium fabrics and promotions! Do you think I’m a thief?”Markus stared him down, un

The crystal chandeliers of the grand hotel ballroom sparkled, soft music flowing from the live band in the corner. That night was supposed to be a glittering celebration: the grand launch of Adrian Corp’s gown collection.Guests arrived in high spirits. Major investors filled the front row, their faces glowing with expectation. Adrian stood at the side of the stage, his black suit immaculate, a thin smile masking the storm of unease within him.Beside him, Cassandra, radiant in her glamorous gown, leaned closer and whispered with utter confidence.“Relax, Adrian. Tonight they will forget Rosemary. Once they see my designs, everyone will know who truly deserves to be by your side.”Adrian only gave a brief nod, though his heartbeat thundered in his chest. He remembered the investor’s chilling warning: “If the quality does not match Rosemary’s, our partnership is over.”The spotlight hit the stage. The MC’s voice rang out with enthusiasm:“Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been

The shrill ring of a phone echoed through Adrian’s luxurious office. He had just taken a sip of wine when the name Markus – Personal Assistant flashed across the screen. With irritation, Adrian pressed the answer button.“Yes, Markus. What is it?” His voice was heavy, dripping with impatience. On the other end, Markus’s tone was urgent and laced with worry.“Sir Adrian… we have a serious problem. The launch of the gown collection is in two days—our design team’s work has been rejected by the investors.”Adrian’s brows furrowed instantly. “Rejected? What do you mean rejected? Didn’t we send them the final revisions last week?”Markus swallowed audibly. “Yes, sir. But the investors said the designs… lack the soul they’re looking for. They called them stiff, lifeless.”Adrian rose from his chair, pacing back and forth as his face flushed with heat. “Stiff? Lifeless? What kind of nonsense is that? They were the ones who approved the initial concept in the first place!”Markus’s voice drop
