“Pour me another.”

Adrian’s voice was hoarse, his eyes bloodshot, his breath reeking of alcohol. He slumped deep into the black leather sofa of his office, shirt half unbuttoned, tie loosened, the half-empty bottle of whiskey sitting on the low table before him.

Markus stood by the door, his expression heavy with disappointment. “That’s enough, Adrian. You’ve had too much already.”

Adrian turned his hollow gaze toward him. “Do you think if I stop drinking, I’ll forget all of this? No, Markus. The company is falling apart, the investors are gone, and Rosemary…” his throat tightened, his voice breaking, “Rosemary slammed the door in my face. She would rather see me ruined than ever come back.”

Markus pulled a chair over and sat across from him. “Adrian, listen to me. You have to start accepting reality. Rosemary may never come back. You can beg, kneel, even bleed yourself dry—but she’s chosen her path.”

Adrian slammed his glass onto the table, amber liquid spilling. “You think I don’t know that? But how am I supposed to accept it, when the only person who made this company matter, who made me matter… is gone forever?”

Markus was silent for a moment before exhaling deeply. “Maybe this is the moment you learn how to let go. You can’t depend on one person forever.”

“No.” Adrian shook his head violently, his eyes red. “This company was built with her. My life… it only had meaning because she was beside me. Now, without Rosemary, I’m empty. I don’t know where to go.”

---

The door opened slowly. Cassandra entered, her crimson satin gown clinging elegantly to her figure. Her face glowed with perfect makeup, her lips curled into a seductive smile, though her eyes betrayed unease.

“Adrian…” her voice was soft, dripping with false tenderness. “You have to stop torturing yourself like this.”

Adrian didn’t look at her. He raised his glass and swallowed another burning sip.

Cassandra walked closer, seating herself beside him, her hand brushing his shoulder. “Forget Rosemary. She doesn’t deserve you anymore. I’m here now. I’ve always chosen you. You know that, don’t you? I’ll never leave you, Adrian.”

Adrian turned to her, his stare icy, piercing through her like glass. “You?” He gave a hollow laugh. “You’re the one who made me believe I could forget Rosemary. You’re the one who swore you could surpass her. But look at the result—you dragged me into this ruin.”

Cassandra’s face drained of color. “I… I only wanted to prove myself. I wanted you to see me, not her.”

Adrian shoved her hand away. “What I see now is nothing but destruction. And I’m sick of it.”

Cassandra froze, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears, but Adrian had already stood, leaving her stranded on the sofa. Markus said nothing—he knew Adrian’s wounds were too deep for Cassandra to ever fill.

---

The next morning, Adrian sat slumped at his desk, his face worn and haggard, newspapers strewn across the table. His trembling hand reached for one of them.

On the front cover of a leading fashion magazine was the photo of a top celebrity draped in a sapphire-blue gown. The dress was flawless—elegant, simple yet commanding—as though sculpted for the star alone.

The headline screamed in bold:

“ROSEMARY RISES FROM THE ASHES – HER NEW GOWN CAPTURES THE WORLD”

Adrian froze, his eyes locked on the image. Below it, the critics’ praise cut into him like knives:

“This is true art.”

“Rosemary proves she was never just a shadow of Adrian Corp.”

“A masterpiece declaring: she doesn’t need anyone to shine.”

Markus entered, a stack of documents in hand. “I figured you’d see the news.”

Adrian lifted his head slowly, his voice raw. “This… this is her work?”

“Yes,” Markus replied plainly. “She launched her new collection from that tiny boutique of hers. And now the international press is covering it. Meanwhile, Adrian Corp—” he dropped the documents heavily onto the desk, “—faces lawsuits from three major investors.”

Adrian clutched his head, his heart pounding violently. “She’s… shining brighter. Without me. Brighter than she ever did with me.”

Markus’s gaze was sharp, unrelenting. “That’s the truth, Adrian. You’ve lost Rosemary—not just as a designer, but as the woman who once loved you. And you may never get her back.”

Adrian squeezed his eyes shut, his voice shattering. “I… I haven’t only lost the company. I’ve lost my heart. Rosemary… she was everything I threw away, and now I have to watch her shine without me.”

---

Outside, the evening sky bled crimson. Adrian stood at the tall office window, staring out over the city. Images of Rosemary filled his mind—her smile, her laughter, even the cold glare she gave when she turned him away.

At last, the tears he had fought for so long slipped free. His hand pressed against the glass, his body trembling.

“I really am… going to lose everything,” he whispered.

“Rosemary! Open this door, I know you’re inside!”Adrian stood in front of a modest house on the outskirts of the city, pounding on the brown wooden door with desperate fists. His breathing was ragged, his suit drenched from the rain that had only just ceased.Inside, footsteps approached. Slowly, the door creaked open, revealing Rosemary. Her hair fell loosely around her shoulders, her face bare of makeup yet effortlessly graceful. But her eyes—those once warm and loving eyes—were now cold, sharp as blades.“What do you want now, Adrian?” she asked flatly, voice devoid of emotion.“I need to talk to you. Please, give me a moment,” Adrian pleaded, bracing his hand against the door so it wouldn’t close again.Rosemary sighed, fighting to hold back the storm within. “I have nothing to do with you. Leave, before I lose my patience.”“I’m not leaving until you hear me out,” Adrian’s voice rose, soaked in desperation. Her gaze hardened. Then she pulled the door wider. “Fine. Come in. Say w

“Adrian, you need to swallow this reality right now!”Markus slammed the financial report folder onto the glass desk in Adrian’s office. His voice cracked, trembling with barely contained rage. “This company is on the brink of bankruptcy! The only way out is to find Rosemary.”Adrian, slouched in his chair with hollow eyes and a weary face, straightened immediately. “Stop saying her name in front of me!” he barked, his voice hoarse but still dripping with pride.Markus stared at him sharply, unflinching. “I don’t care about your ego. You can hate her for the rest of your life, but the truth is crystal clear: without Rosemary, Adrian Corp is dead. Every investor has said the same thing.”Adrian stood, dragging his heavy steps toward the wide window. His gaze was empty as he looked out at the city below. “I can hire another designer. The world is full of talent.”Markus let out a harsh scoff. “If that’s true, then why hasn’t a single investor believed in those other designers? Why do th

“Adrian! You need to see this right now!”Markus’s voice was heavy as he shoved open the office door without knocking. His hand gripped a stack of documents, his face tense.Adrian, who was sipping his coffee, immediately looked up, his brow furrowed. “What now? Don’t make my headache worse!”Markus slammed the files onto the desk. “This is the loss report after the launching two days ago. Did you really think I’d stay quiet while everyone abandons this company?”Adrian glanced lazily at the documents, then set his cup down. “I know the investors are angry. I can explain.”“Explain?” Markus scoffed bitterly. “Can you explain how fifty billion rupiah went up in smoke for failed gowns? Or maybe you can explain why every single investor pulled their funds all at once? They’re even demanding their money back!”Adrian stood abruptly, his voice rising. “I can’t return that money! It’s already been spent on premium fabrics and promotions! Do you think I’m a thief?”Markus stared him down, un

The crystal chandeliers of the grand hotel ballroom sparkled, soft music flowing from the live band in the corner. That night was supposed to be a glittering celebration: the grand launch of Adrian Corp’s gown collection.Guests arrived in high spirits. Major investors filled the front row, their faces glowing with expectation. Adrian stood at the side of the stage, his black suit immaculate, a thin smile masking the storm of unease within him.Beside him, Cassandra, radiant in her glamorous gown, leaned closer and whispered with utter confidence.“Relax, Adrian. Tonight they will forget Rosemary. Once they see my designs, everyone will know who truly deserves to be by your side.”Adrian only gave a brief nod, though his heartbeat thundered in his chest. He remembered the investor’s chilling warning: “If the quality does not match Rosemary’s, our partnership is over.”The spotlight hit the stage. The MC’s voice rang out with enthusiasm:“Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been

The shrill ring of a phone echoed through Adrian’s luxurious office. He had just taken a sip of wine when the name Markus – Personal Assistant flashed across the screen. With irritation, Adrian pressed the answer button.“Yes, Markus. What is it?” His voice was heavy, dripping with impatience. On the other end, Markus’s tone was urgent and laced with worry.“Sir Adrian… we have a serious problem. The launch of the gown collection is in two days—our design team’s work has been rejected by the investors.”Adrian’s brows furrowed instantly. “Rejected? What do you mean rejected? Didn’t we send them the final revisions last week?”Markus swallowed audibly. “Yes, sir. But the investors said the designs… lack the soul they’re looking for. They called them stiff, lifeless.”Adrian rose from his chair, pacing back and forth as his face flushed with heat. “Stiff? Lifeless? What kind of nonsense is that? They were the ones who approved the initial concept in the first place!”Markus’s voice drop
