Chapter 31

After the incident, Shana decided to stay at her parent's house.

The night breeze blew across Shana's skin causing goosebumps to appear on it. The sky was covered by thick dark clouds which were threatening rain any minute. Shana sat on the steps staring at the stars twinkling brightly as if mocking her. Her hands trembled as tears fell freely from her eyes. It has been more than twelve hours since she last saw Dennis and the thought of him leaving her alone made her heartache and her stomach turn. A soft warm hand gently wrapped around hers pulling Shana away from the cold steps.

"Hey."

Shana looked into Dennis's eyes.

"Come inside and have some tea with me," said Dennis smiling softly.

Without waiting for Shana to respond, Dennis led her towards the door of the porch of her parent's home.
