Vienna’s POV

The next morning, as I dropped Oliver off at daycare, he kept tugging on my sleeve. "Daddy pick me up today? You promise?" he asked for the third time.

"Yes, sweetheart," I said, forcing a smile. "Daddy will pick you up."

I tried not to let my frustration seep into my voice. Every reminder of Warren only sharpened the dread of seeing him again.

At the bakery, the pungeant smell of disinfectant greeted me. The pest control team had declared everything clean, safe, and fully operational again.

Still, I wasn’t about to take chances. Today would be a marathon of scrubbing, double-checking, and triple-checking until every surface gleamed.

Just as I tied my apron, my phone buzzed. A text from Raphaël:

"Got your missed call. U OK?"

I stared at the words, hesitating. Then I exhaled and hit call. Time to face this.

"Vienna…" he answered. His voice was low, like the night hadn’t given him much sleep. I already knew why.

"Raphaël," I said softly. "Good morning."

Vienna’s POV"Lauren!" I exclaimed, flustered. I scrambled backward and almost lost my balance in the grass. Edward sat up quickly, brushing leaves off his clothes and glaring at her."What are you doing here?" I murmured awkwardly.Lauren tilted her head, still smirking. "What, is this place private property now? I live nearby. I come here every morning for a jog.Didn’t expect to stumble across… whatever this is." She gestured vaguely at the two of us.I could feel my cheeks flaming hotter than the summer sun. "It’s… self-defense training. That’s all. We’re… uh… practicing moves," I stammered.Edward stood, towering over her, his arms crossed over his chest. "She’s learning how to protect herself. That’s it. Your commentary isn’t necessary." His tone was sharp, but measured—controlled.Lauren’s smirk faltered slightly under his gaze, though she recovered quickly. "Right. Self-defense. Sure. Looks more like… couple’s playtime to me." She let out a light, teasing laugh, clearly enjoyi

Vienna’s POVA group of people in yoga pants and athletic gear had gathered near the park trail, looking at us with curious, slightly amused expressions. Some of them were holding water bottles; others had mats rolled under their arms. All eyes were on us."Oh… no," I stammered, my cheeks heating instantly. "He’s just, uh… teaching me self-defense." My voice sounded a little breathless even to my own ears. One of the women smirked. "Right…" she said, tilting her head. "Didn’t look like you wanted to defend yourself there for a minute."I froze. My stomach twisted, and I could feel the heat creeping up my neck.Edward stepped forward smoothly, his presence instantly commanding attention. He didn’t raise his voice, but every word had that sharp, confident tone that shut down nonsense before it started."That’s enough," he said, his eyes scanning the group with a calm but firm gaze. "This is a private session. If anyone wants to mock or judge my student, I suggest you take your entertain

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 338 - Defense(less)

Edward’s POVI woke up on the couch with a stupid smile on my face.Vienna was asleep in my bed.Granted, not for the reason any man might dream of—but still. She was safe. Warm. Breathing steadily under my roof. And even though the circumstances had been awful and traumatic, even though I wished more than anything that she’d never had to relive that nightmare… I couldn’t deny it:I felt honored.Honored that she trusted me again.Honored that I got to be the one who held her when she fell apart.I scrubbed a hand over my tired face and got up, stretching. The sun was already sneaking through the blinds, brushing gold across the apartment. I made my way into the kitchen and started bustling around quietly, pulling out eggs, bread, berries, anything I thought she might like.A part of me replayed last night on loop—the fear in her eyes, the way she shook, the way she clung to my voice like it was a lifeline. And then… The way her shoulders loosened when she took that first sip of tea.

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 337 - Safe & Sound

Vienna’s POVEdward stroked my hair with slow, deliberate gentleness, his touch grounding me in a world that still felt tilted off its axis."Shhh… you’re safe," he whispered, again and again. His low voice was warm and steady—like an anchor I didn’t know I needed until that moment.Across from us, Ashley was wrapped tightly in Fred’s arms. Her makeup was smudged, her chest rising and falling too fast, but she was safe. Fred rubbed her back, murmuring something into her hair.He lifted his gaze to Bella, who was standing nearby, arms wrapped around herself. "Security handled it?" he asked over Ashley’s shoulder.Bella nodded weakly. "Yeah. They dragged him out the back. Police should be on their way. He’s gone."Fred exhaled a long, shaky breath. "Okay. That’s it. We’re staying together for the rest of the night. No more splitting up, no wandering off. We stick as a group."The bachelor party and bachelorette group merged in a messy, chaotic tangle—men hugging women, women crying into

Vienna’s POVThe panic attack hit me before I even understood what was happening. My vision blurred. My lungs locked. This couldn’t be happening. Not tonight. That man…It was him.The same thug who had taunted and tortured Warren. Who had touched me in ways that still made my skin crawl. Who had laughed while he yanked at my clothes just to watch Warren break. The memory slammed into me so violently I stumbled back, clutching my chest as the streetlights spun in a dizzying dance."No. No, no, no…" I whispered. The words barely scraped out. My breath shattered into sharp, painful gasps. He approached with that same cruel grin I still saw in my nightmares."Well, well," he crooned, eyes sweeping over me. "Miss me, sweetheart?"Ashley stepped between us without hesitation, her voice firm despite the fear flashing in her eyes. "Back. Off. She’s been through enough."He didn’t.Instead, he grabbed her arm."Hey! Let go—let go of me!" Ashley struggled, twisting, but his grip only tightened

Ashley’s POV"Morning, fiancée," a low voice brushed against my ear. "Ready for your big day?"I blinked awake, still tangled beneath the sheets, to find Fred’s face hovering inches from mine. His dark blonde hair was a sleepy mess. His smile was entirely too smug for this early in the morning. For a moment I simply stared, my brain foggy. Then everything snapped into place."Oh my god." I shot upright so quickly I startled him. "Today is my Bachelorette!"Fred burst out laughing. "I knew it. I knew you’d be more excited about this than the wedding.""I am not!" I protested, even though we both knew it was only slightly untrue. "It’s just… Today is going to be fun. Weddings are stressful. This is fun."He stretched out, arms behind his head. "Good to know where I rank compared to glitter, giggles and cocktails.""Oh hush." I leaned down to kiss him. "You always rank first. But today? Today is Vienna’s masterpiece.""Well, if anyone can create a masterpiece involving alcohol, chaos, an
