- Ann -

I was working quietly and alone in a corner when I felt someone behind me and looked up.

"Damon...hi. What are you doing here?" I was not expecting to see him.

"I am doing fine," he replied warmly. "I see you are busy with work."

"As I should," I said with an uncertain chuckle. "But you, what are you doing here?"

"I am here to check up on you," he said and moved closer. I noticed something in his hands. "And I brought some food for you as well."

"I..." I looked at him and back at his hand. "I uhm...you didn't have to."

"It's nothing. Here, have it," he stretched it to me but I was hesitant. I looked around to see if anyone was watching, but it seemed they were busy with other things to be looking.

"I don't know, I appreciate you getting this for me but I cannot really take it now because I am working and I cannot-

"That's fine. I will keep it for you then," he said. "When you are done, you should eat."

"Yes, that will do, thank you." I smiled.
