Hugh’s mind was tumbling end over end. He thought he had removed anything that could lead back to them. At least it explained why the human woman had been sent to get a sample of his blood. They obviously had something to compare it against, shit, but then she had helped him, it was all very confusing. Knox was prowling around Hugh’s mind, his agitation fuelled by Hugh’s own.

Grenville was explaining to the Reiver’s how the only wolf who had any connection to the Addisons was Hugh Crozier in the form of a sales contract with Edinburgh City Council, and as everyone now knew, the Addisons had tried to buy the same building. While he droned on, Hugh looked over at Sarah wondering what evidence she had on him, her face was passive as she sat staring at Grenville who was still talking.
