Chapter Four – The Lies

Axel’s POV

The morning sun hadn’t even touched the mountains when I got out of bed. Sleep didn’t come easily last night. Not after what happened.

I stood by the window, arms folded, watching the forest sway in the early wind. The girl… Nora.

I had saved her life, but I couldn’t stop thinking about her. About her face. Her scent. Her tears.

Something was off.

I didn’t trust easily, and definitely not strangers who just showed up at the border getting attacked by rogues.

It felt too clean. Too perfect.

Why was she alone?

Why did the rogues find her?

Why did she look… like her?

I shut my eyes tightly and pushed that thought away. Lillian. That name had no place in my mind anymore. But the more I tried to forget, the more it came back.

The resemblance was sharp. Not just the face—but the way she looked at me, the softness, the fear. It stirred something in me I had buried long ago.

“Alpha Axel,” a voice said behind me.

I turned. It was Rafe, one of my top guards.

“Go find out about the girl,” I ordered without greeting. “Everything. Her name, her past, the pack she came from. I want to know if she’s a spy or just another lost soul.”

Rafe nodded quickly, almost too quickly.

“Do you mean Nora Thorne?”

I froze.

I hadn’t told him her name.

I narrowed my eyes. “You know her?”

He looked away for a second, then gave a short nod. “No No… i don’t know her, she just look… look a bit familar?

“Familiar how?” I demanded, stepping closer. “Have you met her before? Or is someone feeding you information?”

Rafe hesitated. “Not really, I am not sure, I don’t know her”

“Then go confirm it. And bring me the truth.”

He bowed and left quickly. I didn’t like the look in his eyes. There was something hidden behind that calm face of his. Something I needed to dig out.

But first… the girl.

I opened the door to the guest room and stepped in. The scent of healing herbs filled the air. Nora was sitting up in bed, her long hair falling around her shoulders.

She looked tired. Pale. Weak.

But still… too familiar.

She looked up at me and froze, her lips parting slightly.

“Alpha…” she whispered.

I didn’t reply. I just stared.

She dropped her gaze. Her fingers fidgeted with the bedsheet.

“You’re awake,” I said flatly.

She nodded. “Yes. Thank you for—”

“Who are you?” I cut in, stepping forward.

She blinked. “I—I told the healer. My name is Nora Thorne.”

“Where are you from?”

“Ashmoon Pack.”

The same pack my father had dealings with years ago.

“What were you doing at the edge of our border?”

“I was running,” she said softly. “I was being chased. The rogues found me before I could find help.”

“Why were the rogues after you?”

“I don’t know,” she said quickly. “I swear, I don’t know.”

“You didn’t call them?” I asked coldly.

She looked up in shock. “What?”

“You didn’t lead them here to get close to me?” My voice turned sharp. “You didn’t plan this entire act so I’d find you and feel sorry for you?”

Her eyes widened. “No! No, I didn’t! I swear! I didn’t even know this was your land, I didn’t even know anything about you before now”

I stared hard at her. She didn’t break eye contact.

But the fear was real. Or it looked real.

And still, I didn’t trust her.

“Why do you look like her?” I asked suddenly.

She blinked, confused. “Look like who?”

I didn’t answer. I turned and walked to the window. My hands were balled into fists.

Was she sent to me?

Was this fate messing with me again?

Was it a trick?

I whirled on her. "Tell me the truth. All of it. Now."

She shook her head, tearful. "I have nothing to hide. I just wanted to live. That's all."

I didn't get a chance to push her further when there was a knock at the door.

"Come in," I barked.

Rafe came in.

He bowed briefly, then glanced at Nora.

"Well?" I demanded.

"She was banished from Ashmoon Pack," he answered reluctantly.

Nora's head snapped up. "What?"

I tried talking to Rafe. "Why?"

He looked straight at me and told me, "She cheated on one of the elders while she was still mated with the alpha of our pack."

Nora gasped. "What?!"

My heart turned cold.

I looked at her, stunned.

"You… what?" I said slowly.

"That is not true!" she screamed. "That's a lie!"

Rafe continued, unflappable. "She was caught sneaking into his room.some elders called for her banishment. It was a scandal.".

That's not true!" Nora screamed. "I did respect every elders of my pack ! They were all like a father— I would never do that!"

But I didn't respond. I just stared at her.

Her face.

Her eyes.

And now… this?

It made too much sense. She was too perfect. Too fragile. Too much like the ghost I'd been trying to forget for years.

My voice was a glacier. "Do you think I'm stupid?

Tears streamed down her face. "Please. I don't know why he's making this up. It's not true."

I turned to face the healer. "Don't let her out of this room."

"Alpha—" she began.

"I said don't let her out."

And then I was gone.

My heart raced, but my expression did not change.

If she was really lying… if she came into my life pretending to be weak just to trap me…

Then she was worse than Lillian.

And I wouldn't repeat the same mistake twice.

Chapter 232 – Auren AscendsHis POVAuren stood atop the cliffs overlooking the valley, the wind whipping through his hair, tugging at the edges of his tunic. His eyes, sharp and golden, mirrored the sunlight that spilled across the forest below. From this vantage point, he could see the borders of the territory his parents had so carefully built—a land of strength, unity, and history. Yet, even as the sun bathed the pack’s grounds in warm light, he felt the tension that lingered like a shadow. He was the Alpha now, though not yet crowned. The weight of that title pressed heavily against his shoulders, heavier than any armor, heavier than the scars he bore from his training. Axel and Nora had raised him to be strong, to wield his gifts responsibly, but Auren knew that power alone was not enough. Respect and loyalty were earned, and there were wolves who already whispered doubts behind closed doors. Some elders muttered about his age, some warriors wondered if he had the strength of mi

  • Rejected And Reborn   Quiet

Chapter 231 The forest was quiet, but to Auren, silence carried weight. It carried whispers, judgments, and the unspoken questions of every wolf in the surrounding packs. Standing atop the ridge overlooking his territory, he breathed deeply, feeling the wind ruffle his dark hair and brush against the edges of his cloak. His parents had taught him well: strength was not only in muscle and claw but in perception, in patience, in knowing when to strike and when to wait.Auren had grown into a formidable young man, his aura already hinting at the power he had inherited from both his mother and his father. The golden gleam in his eyes—like the mate bond that had bound his parents—was unmistakable. It radiated authority, promise, and the subtle hum of an untapped energy waiting to be unleashed. Yet, despite the confidence that came naturally to him, a storm brewed beyond the borders of the forest: political doubt.Even within his own pack, some wolves eyed him with suspicion. “Too young,”

  • Rejected And Reborn   Begining

Chapter 230Auren stood atop the high cliff overlooking the valley, the first light of dawn casting gold across the forest. His chest swelled with pride—not the kind of arrogance that comes from power, but the quiet, steady pride of one who knows the weight of responsibility. Every muscle in his body was honed from years of training, his senses sharp as a wolf’s, his mind steady like his father’s. And yet, the bond to his parents—the lessons, the love, and the legacy of his father’s strength and his mother’s untamed power—flowed through him like a river, shaping him, tempering him, guiding him.The pack waited below, their murmurs rising on the wind. Auren could feel them all—the loyal ones, the hesitant ones, the whispers of doubt, and the curiosity of those who had watched him grow from the boy who had once been cradled in his mother’s arms to this young man standing ready to claim his place. Each heartbeat was a reminder: he carried not only the power of his lineage but the expecta

Chapter 221 — Auren’s First War as Future AlphaHis POVThe moment the council scattered after questioning my legitimacy, I thought the tension would settle. I thought the whispers would fade, and the pack would slowly fall back into harmony.I was wrong. The challenge came faster than thunder. At dawn, the horns sounded—three sharp blasts carrying across the valley. War horns. My heart hammered once, solid and heavy, like it knew what was coming.A scout sprinted into the courtyard, face pale, chest heaving.“Alpha—future Alpha—Auren… they’re here. The Ironfang alliance. More than one pack.”My stomach tightened, but my voice stayed steady.“How many?”“Three packs… maybe four. They say your display of power yesterday was ‘an act of aggression’ and they’re answering it with force.”Of course.Strength commands respect, but it also awakens fear. And fear creates enemies.I nodded. “Prepare the warriors. Form the first and second defensive lines.”The scout bowed and ran.Behind him, I

  • Rejected And Reborn   The Kiss

Chapter 228The morning sun barely kissed the horizon when Auren stood at the edge of the cliff overlooking the valley that his pack now called home. The wind tugged at his hair, but it did not unsettle him; instead, it carried with it the weight of expectation, of legacy, and the silent judgment of those who still doubted him. Twenty years had passed since his birth, and every day since had been a lesson in survival, strategy, and strength. He had inherited his mother’s piercing aura and his father’s unyielding fortitude—gifts that, when combined, made him extraordinary, but also marked him as a target. His pack members had gathered at the base of the cliff, some kneeling instinctively, some standing rigid with caution. He could feel their whispers even without turning—questions about his age, his experience, their loyalty wavering. The political unrest had been simmering for weeks; Auren had sensed it through subtle cues, the slight hesitation in commands, the secret glances exchang

The wind whipped through his dark hair, carrying the scents of the surrounding forests and the faint tension of the packs gathered below. Even from this distance, he could sense the murmur of doubts and whispers—the subtle questioning of his age, his experience, his legitimacy. But he would not falter. He had trained for this moment for years under the watchful eyes of his parents, Axel and Nora, learning not only to fight but to lead, to read people, to understand the fragile web of loyalty and ambition that wove through the wolf world. He shifted his stance, letting the bond with his parents flow through him. He could feel their pride, their quiet encouragement, and even the echo of their warnings. The bond was a warm anchor in the storm of uncertainty. His mother’s patience, his father’s strength—they were now a part of him, their legacy f
