Chapter Eleven : The Living Room Encounter

Nora’s POV

I was in the pack’s living room, trying to keep busy. The maids moved around me quietly, arranging flowers and folding silks for the upcoming Luna ceremony. The air smelled faintly of lavender and wax polish. I kept my hands busy, straightening the cushions on the chairs, smoothing the tablecloths, pretending I wasn’t nervous.

Next week was the Luna ceremony. Just thinking about it made my chest tighten. Axel had made it clear, he wanted me to be his Luna. But the thought alone filled me with fear. What if I failed? What if the pack rejected me?

I tried to focus on the small tasks in front of me, when suddenly, the door opened. A hush fell over the room. The maids stiffened and stepped back.
