INICIAR SESIÓN“M…matches?” Kyle’s eyes went wide. His mind was completely blank.
Hugo and Devon took the opportunity to squat in front of him. This was something that would shock anyone who saw this.
Standing beside Kyle, Logan screamed in his mind. Holy shit, holy shit, what am I looking at right now? His ruthless military friend, and the cold business tycoon were literally crouching on the floor of a hospital floor to make a boy feel better, using soft voices that no one had the honour of hearing. He really wanted to pull out his phone, take a picture, and send it to their group chat. But he knew if he did that, Hugo would kill him, so Logan could only stand there, enjoying the moment.
“Yes, matches,” Devon said softly, his dark eyes fixed on Kyle’s face. “We will take care of you from now on. We will give you everything you need, and we will make sure you never lack food, safety, or anything else in this world.”
Kyle stared down at them, feeling even more confused. Aren't powerful Alphas supposed to get angry when someone like him turns out to be their match?
To him, the two Alphas squatting in front of him looked like they didn't lack anything. He felt unworthy of them.
Kyle swallowed hard, his voice shaking as he asked, “W…why? I… I am just…”
“Because you are ours,” Hugo cut in softly, his voice full of warmth. “Come and live with us. Leave the place you are staying at and move into the place we found for you. We will protect you.”
Kyle snapped back to reality as he realised that he was not at home. He had stayed outside for a whole night, his adoptive parents won't be happy with him.
“I… I need to g…o home,” Kyle panicked, trying to get down from the bed. “I stayed outside… all night. They… they will be so m…ad at me. I have to go b…ack.”
He tried to stand up, but Hugo’s face became a little hard as he placed a heavy hand on the bed. “Sit down.”
Hugo’s voice sounded a bit angry. He was not angry at the boy, but he was angry that this precious, perfect match thought he was not worth their care, yet wanted to run straight back to the hellhole that starved him.
Seeing Kyle flinch at his loud voice, Hugo immediately softened his face. He took a deep breath to calm his anger. “They already know you are here. We will take you home later… but only after you eat something.”
Kyle bit his lip and slowly nodded his head.
Right then, there was a knock at the door, the food was here.
Logan looked at the two big shots in front of him before winking at Hugo, “You can do It.” He mouthed before slipping out of the room to give them space.
“The doctor said your stomach is very weak right now,” Devon said softly. “So you can only eat something light.”
Devon sat on the edge of the bed. He picked up the spoon, and carefully stirred the warm rice porridge, he blew on it to make it cool before bringing it right up to Kyle’s mouth.
Kyle’s whole face turned bright red from pure embarrassment. No one had ever fed him or treated him like this in his whole life. “I… I can eat b…y myself.”
Devon showed a very small, rare smile, his dark eyes softening as he gave the spoon to the boy. “Alright. Eat slowly.”
Kyle took the spoon with shaking fingers. He began to eat as the two huge Alphas stood side by side, their dark eyes completely locked onto his face. Being watched so closely made him feel uncomfortable.
After eating up to five spoonfuls, he felt full and kept the spoon back in the bowl.
“I… I’m full.”
Devon and Hugo both frowned, looking at the bowl that was still completely full of rice porridge.
“But you barely ate anything,” Hugo said, his eyebrows pulling together in concern. “Eat more. You need to add weight.”
“But I c…an't… I’m really f…ull,” Kyle whispered.
This tiny amount was the exact size of the food portions he had been given since he was a little child in the lab, and then in the Sawyer attic. Over the years, his body had gotten used to starving, and nobody had ever complained or cared that he ate too little.
He looked at their faces, his heart squeezing with fear. Why are they angry? Did I do something wrong again? Will they punish me for wasting food?
Seeing his scared look, the two Alphas immediately reigned in their frustration.
“I’m not angry,” Devon said gently. He reached out and patted Kyle's head, his long fingers smoothing down the boy’s messy hair. “It’s just that you eat too little. You are too thin.”
“But… that’s how m…uch I always eat,” Kyle murmured softly. He really wanted to go home, the white walls made him think of the lab. “C…an I go home now… p…lease?”
Damn it, Hugo thought, tightening his jaw. Why is he so eager to go back to that house?
Devon sat back, his dark eyes studying Kyle’s worried face. “You really don't want to live with us? We can give you anything you want.”
“But I want to g…o home,” Kyle pleaded softly.
To Kyle, the Sawyer house was a safe place compared to the nightmare of the laboratory. He was genuinely happy that the police had saved him from the lab. Even though the Sawyer family only fed him once a day, sometimes once every two days, he was very happy. Even though he was always locked away in a small, stuffy attic room, he felt nothing but gratitude.
His life for the first seventeen years in the laboratory had been a living hell. At the Sawyer house, at least they did not tie his arms and legs to a leather table with metal straps. At least they did not use strange, loud machines on his body, or poke him with hundreds of needles. At least they did not touch him the bad way he had been touched by the faceless scientists at the lab. Even though the Sawyers took his blood three times a week for Noah, it was still much better than the lab, where he would always pass out into a dark coma after every painful blood draw. The small beatings he got from Noah were nothing compared to the daily torture of his childhood.
Life in the Sawyer house was two times… no five times better than life at the research lab. That was why he was so grateful to them. To Kyle, the Sawyer family was his light. They were the very first people who had ever taken him in, and he felt he owed them his entire life.
“Can you t…ake me h..home now, please?” Kyle begged again, his voice dropping to a small whisper. He stared at the floor of the hospital room. “I… I don't like the white w..alls here… please.”
All he wanted to do no
w was to go to his own little attic room.
Inside the massive living room of the Sawyer mansion, Clarissa Sawyer, Noah Sawyer and his dad were gathered. Richard Sawyer slammed his fist on the table, his face red with rage.“Can’t you even keep one single boy in check? You let him run around wildly at the banquet, and now look at what he has done!” Richard shouted, his chest heaving with anger. “First thing this morning, Adler Tech and Keagan Enterprises froze all our trade deals! Our stocks are crashing by the minute!”Clarissa Sawyer bit her lips, trying so hard to control her outburst. “Dear, that ungrateful brat must have done it on purpose! Who would have thought he would cause such a disaster the moment we took him out?” Standing behind his mother, Noah kept his head down. He was desperately trying to hide his nervousness. If he had known that forcing that red liquor down Kyle’s throat last night would cause this much harm to the family company, he would never have done it, no matter how furious and jealous he had bee

“There is something else I need to tell you about the boy,” Logan said. “His blood test is very bad. He is dangerously starved. His body does not have enough nutrients, and his blood level is very low. It looks like someone has been taking a lot of blood from him for years, without giving him proper food or time to rest.”As Logan kept talking and listing all the bad things wrong with the boy's body, the air in the hallway felt like ice. Devon’s jaw tightened, and his face twisted in anger and Hugo’s eyes darkened, filled with killing intent.Seeing their terrifying faces, Logan quickly took a step back. He let out a sigh and rubbed his neck. “Well… his body is very, very weak. That is all I found out from the basic test. I will go now to check on his medicine. Call me if you need anything.” He quickly walked out as fast as he could, as if he was being chased. Devon and Hugo stared at the fragile boy lying on the hospital bed. His face looked so pale that he looked like he had giv
When the footsteps came closer, it was a waiter carrying a tray loaded with drinks. Noah's eyes locked onto the drinks. These specific dark red drinks were called Astra-Tonic. They were highly alcoholic and only Alphas were able to hold their liquor after drinking it. An idea popped in Noah's head. If he forced it down Kyle's throat, how would he behave? Would he still be as quiet as he was, or would he do something stupid and embarrass himself in front of the whole banquet? “Wait, let me take one of these, it's for my father.” Noah said, flashing him his signature angelic smile. The waiter, completely fooled, bowed and stretched the tray out towards him. Noah collected it, and as soon as the waiter's footsteps could no longer be heard. His expression turned vicious as he turned to look at Kyle. He grabbed Kyle by the back of his neck, and pinned him against the wall. “Since you love to act like a pitiful victim, let's see how you act after a drink,” Noah sneered.Kyle’
“You had better stay behind Noah at all times. Do not let us see you wandering around like a stray. If you misbehave at this banquet, you won't get food for a week. Do you understand me?”Clarissa Sawyer’s voice was completely devoid of emotion as she spoke. They were inside a plush limousine that was moving towards the venue of the banquet of the year. She didn't even bother to hide the disgust as she looked at the boy sitting across from her. Tonight, she was dressed in the latest haute-couture piece from the YX autumn collection, paired with this season's latest designer handbag. Afraid that the high-society elite might somehow miss how wealthy she was, she had draped herself in an excessive layer of diamond necklaces, heavy rings, and glittering hairpins. The display was gaudy, and a tad too much for anyone with actual refined taste, but to Clarissa, it was fashion, she simply wanted everyone to know that she could afford these things.Kyle nodded quickly as he hunched his shoul
