Ryan P.O. V

The first thing I noticed as soon as I stepped into the manor was the silence, but not in a peaceful way. The halls were empty, the attendants were nowhere to be found, and the guards weren't in their usual position.

Aside from that, everything else seemed completely normal. There were no signs of struggle, no broken furniture, and no forced entry or exit.

I sniffed the air, trying to pick up any scents that might help me figure out what was going on here. But there was nothing ou

And when that happens, you must promise to treat me better, okay?" “What next life are you talking about," I asked, shielding my face from the blinding snowstorm that had come out of nowhere. “Didn't we promise to stay together in every lifetime? Why are you suddenly going back on your words?"“I'm so sorry… Adrian." She pulled back before I could reach her, and the next thing I knew, the storm had swallowed her whole.“No, no, no," I growled, dropping to my knees. “Not again." The ground where I was kneeling began to crack from every direction, and finally the entire mountain crumbled, leaving me falling through space to my own death... “Ahhh…” I sat up fast, my entire room spinning around me. No matter how hard I tried to breathe, my lungs felt like they were burning from the inside. “Breathe in… Four counts… Hold… And Release slowly." I held my head with o

  • Rejected Bloodline: A Tale Of Two Worlds    Married Under The Rain

Samantha's P. O. VOne minute the sky was bright and beautiful… the next, I was walking barefoot under a heavy downpour. Merchants hurried to close their stores and find shelter while the nobles were ushered into their houses by waiting servants... It was a fast-moving street, but somehow, I felt slow. Wet clothes clung to my trembling body like a second skin. But I couldn't bring myself to stop because the storm inside me was louder than the one above me. My pace slowed until I finally stopped. The road I was standing on was decorated with cobblestones of different shapes and colors that reflected light even if there wasn't any.Even the dark and empty windows of the fancy stores were lined perfectly under the moon, giving them a refined look. I dragged myself back and leaned against the wolf fountain behind me. Water ran from its paw and down the side, but none of it touched me.

  • Rejected Bloodline: A Tale Of Two Worlds    The Price Of Power

Adrian's P. O. V“Are you sure that's what she said?” I asked, blinking the last trace of sleep from my eyes. “Yes, your Highness… Those were the exact words written in the letter that Lady Selene sent this morning,” Zain explained. “It also says that once the evidence needed for conviction is compiled, she plans to turn herself in for punishment." Half an hour later, I walked down the quiet palace hallway with nothing but chaos in mind. At this point, I shouldn't even be surprised by bad news anymore. But each time… it felt like the impact was meant to hit harder than the last. Then again, how could things have gotten to this point? How could they do so many diabolical things and still show no remorse at all? And what was killing me the most was the fact that things wouldn't have gotten to this point if I, Adrian Devonsol, didn't exist. My hand stopped in front of the d

  • Rejected Bloodline: A Tale Of Two Worlds    Sisters For A Day

Samantha's P. O. VJasmine sat on the edge of the bed staring blankly at me, even as I pretended to be asleep, but that wasn't what bothered me the most. After Ryan told me a shocking secret about my necklace a few weeks ago, I had already started to suspect that my birth mother wasn't a good person. But then listening to Jasmine's confession, I didn't know whether to feel angry or terrified by the fact that someone who clearly wasn't a monster could actually be worse than one. I mean, even they know not to hurt their own flesh and blood, so why did mine have to be such a despicable person who didn't deserve to keep living after all the horrible things she has done? I smoothed my dress before standing up. “You kept your word. Now I'll keep mine". Jasmine blinked slowly. “You're actually going to cure him? Just like that?" “Just like that," I repeated, "unless you want my

  • Rejected Bloodline: A Tale Of Two Worlds    The Enemy Of My Enemy

Samantha's P. O. VIf anyone had told me before that this was where a Duchess lived and not just another part of Kensington Palace, I wouldn't have believed it. So many halls, so many rooms, but hardly anyone living in them. “This is the west wing, my lady. That's the library, my lady. This hall leads to the solarium, my lady. The north wing has the guest suites…"I kept my head down and continued muttering," Mm-hmm", and “, yes” without paying attention until the maid leading the way finally stopped. “My lady?" “Yes," I blinked, slowly looking up. “This is your room,” she gestured to the dark mahogany door with its elegant gold detailing. “Everything you need has already been prepared beforehand, but please let us know if you would like any further adjustments." I remained where I was standing. “And the Duchess?" "Your mother," the maid corr
