Alexander’s eyes found me the moment I stepped back into the main hall.

I had smoothed my dress, dabbed the corner of my eyes, and forced composure into every line of my face—but it didn’t matter. He saw through it. Of course he did.

He was leaning casually against a marble column, his suit tailored like a weapon, his glass of champagne untouched. But the casual stance was a lie. His gaze was sharp, cutting, the kind of look that pinned you in place and demanded answers without a word spoken.

And in that instant, I realized something chilling.

He knew.

Maybe not the details, not the venomous exchange that had passed between Damien and me in the shadows of the gallery corridor. But Alexander knew enough—he saw the tremor in my hands, the fire still flickering in my eyes.

His jaw flexed once. Then he set down his glass and started toward me.

“What did he say to you?”

The words were smooth, quiet, but laced with steel. He stopped just short of me, close enough that his presence pressed a

  • Rejected Bride, Billionaire's Wife   Woman In The Shadows

The news broke before sunrise. My phone buzzed with alerts, and when I rolled over to check, the headline glared at me in bold letters:“King Industries Secures Hartford Mega-Deal, Outsmarts Callahan Global.”I sat up, heart pounding. The Hartford deal had been the holy grail of corporate warfare for months. Billions on the table, international influence, entire economies shifting depending on whose hand closed it. Damien had been the frontrunner—or so everyone thought. Until now.I glanced toward the balcony, where Alexander stood with his back to me, phone pressed to his ear, his voice sharp and measured. He was still in his shirt from last night, sleeves rolled up, dark hair slightly mussed, but there was no weariness in him. Only steel.“Yes,” he said curtly. “They caved. Send the terms to legal. I want the contracts signed before noon.”He hung up without a word of pleasantry. When he finally turned, his eyes found mine, and for a moment, I forgot to breathe. There was something

  • Rejected Bride, Billionaire's Wife   Actions Have Consequences

The mansion no longer felt like a home—it felt like a fortress under siege.By noon, the world had devoured the story. News anchors, tabloids, business channels—every screen carried Alexander’s name alongside words like attack, assault, and ruthless billionaire. The footage of him walking into his office that morning, perfectly composed, only fueled the flames. He didn’t deny anything. He didn’t dodge questions. When asked directly if he had ordered the assault, he simply looked at the cameras and said, “Actions have consequences.”It was everywhere.I sat in the drawing room, phone buzzing endlessly on the table beside me. Old friends, strangers, even journalists slipped into my messages with thinly veiled curiosity: Is it true? Did he really do it? Are you safe?Safe. The word scraped against me.Isabella stormed into the room without knocking, her cheeks flushed with outrage. “Have you seen the news?” she demanded, waving her phone as if I had somehow been spared the onslaught. “He

  • Rejected Bride, Billionaire's Wife   Dark Moves

I could always tell when Isabella was about to strike. It was in the way her heels clicked slower down the hall, her voice softening like silk pulled over glass, her smile too polished, too sweet. She came to me that afternoon when Alexander had shut himself in his study, pacing like a caged panther after Damien’s letter. I had avoided him, retreating to the greenhouse just for air.Isabella found me there.“Elena,” she said, her tone lilting with false warmth, “I was wondering where you’d run off to. This place suits you… so quiet. Almost too quiet.”Her words slithered across the glass walls. I didn’t answer. My fingers brushed the petals of a lily, grounding myself, reminding me not to lash out too soon. She tilted her head, stepping closer, her perfume sharp and invasive. “You and Alexander… things seem tense. More tense than usual. Is everything alright?”I stiffened. “Of course.”“Of course,” she repeated, mocking the words with her smile. “It’s just—I notice things. I notice th

  • Rejected Bride, Billionaire's Wife   It Would Be War

The mansion was too big for silence, and yet silence was all it held.I spent the next day avoiding him. No, dodging him. Like a shadow moving from one corner of the house to another, I charted paths where his footsteps wouldn’t fall.Breakfast was untouched. I lingered in my room, waiting until the clink of silverware and the faint scrape of his chair drifted away before I dared to come down. Lunch, I feigned disinterest, pacing the gardens like a prisoner pretending the roses were freedom. Dinner—well, I didn’t even try. I locked the door, claimed a headache, and ate nothing. But his presence haunted me anyway.I’d hear the low murmur of his voice in the study, sharp words rolling into silence when he realized I was near. The faint thud of his shoes crossing the marble late at night. The muted slam of a door, the echo stretching down the corridors like a warning. He was everywhere, even when I tried to erase him from sight.I passed him once in the hallway. It was accidental. I had

  • Rejected Bride, Billionaire's Wife   Looming Secret

I should have known peace wouldn’t last. The morning after Alexander silenced Isabella and banished Miss Bennett, a storm broke through the gates of his empire. We were at Alexander’s office, the air sharp with the scent of leather and steel, walls lined with floor-to-ceiling windows that cut the city into neat little squares of glass. I’d come with him that morning, against my better judgment. Maybe I thought sitting in his world, seeing him command it, would help me understand him better. But when the elevator chimed and Damien Callahan walked into Alexander King’s boardroom, every nerve in my body turned to ice.He looked… untouchable. Tailored navy suit, that infuriating smirk playing on his lips, and a new woman on his arm, different from the one we’d seen months ago, but cut from the same flawless mold. I couldn’t tell if the weight in my chest was rage, grief, or shame.“King.” Damien’s voice slid across the room like oil. “I heard you’ve been making moves against my company.

  • Rejected Bride, Billionaire's Wife   Raging Hearts II

The knock barely faded before Alexander moved. He strode across the room, yanked the door open, and filled the frame with his presence like a storm contained in human form.Isabella blinked up at him, her lips curved in that sly smile that always felt like a blade dipped in sugar. Miss Bennett stood a step behind her, polished and smug, as if she had every right to be in his home, in his space, in his life.“You forget yourself,” Alexander said, his voice a whipcrack.Isabella’s smile faltered. “I was only—”“You were only undermining my wife.” His words sliced clean through the air. The silence that followed was absolute, heavy. Even Miss Bennett’s smirk twitched.Isabella laughed, brittle and sharp. “Your wife? You mean the girl who’s here because of a contract? Do you think anyone in this family doesn’t know? You can parade her around all you want, Alexander, but everyone sees the truth. She’s temporary. Replaceable.”Before I could even react, before the sting of her words could f
