Chapter:-2

From the time Ashley could walk and talk, she was trained on how to be a proper Omega. Since Ashley was a lot smaller than girls her age, she was treated differently, as if she were fragile.

Her mother taught her how to cook, clean, read, write, knit, sew, and even how to plant a garden. Her father taught her about their business and their pack. Ashley's father, Alexander Madden, is different. For him, everyone is equal. He wants Ashley to know everything about the world. He wants her to be perfect like any other omega and equal to any other alpha. Her father even taught her how Omegas should act and dress and how they should behave in public. While her parents made being an Omega sound wonderful, it didn't seem that way when Ashley was at school.

Her teacher would always tell the class how omegas are worthless and how they're only good for breeding. She could then go on and talk about how even though an Alpha and Omega can mate, the Alpha is allowed to see other people and sleep with other people while the Omega is solely bonded to their Alpha.

Ashley never told her parents about it, but it always made her feel sick. She overheard her parents talking about her future Alpha, and Ashley could only wonder if her Alpha would just use her as a babymaker and sleep with other people; she didn't want that. In the books her mother used to read him every night, the Alpha and Omega would meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after. Of course Ashley knew they were still fairy tales, but it's what she wanted, and maybe her future Alpha would give her a fairy tale life. When Ashley turns fifteen, her father sends her to the South Side for her higher studies. He wants her to study business. Her father always told her 'Never let an Alpha disrespect you and your family; remember everyone is equal. And if someone rejects you as their mate, never ever look back at them.'

When Ashley returned to her pack, everyone welcomed her. Her parents told her how they chose someone for her. Which makes Ashley sad because she already likes someone. But again, her parents gave her everything—more than an omega can get in their society. So she smiles and decides to forget about the person and move on.

"Ashley Madden, wake up, or I swear to Luna, I will throw your makeup kits!" Ashley's father, Alexander, yelled in his Alpha voice, which meant Ashley had no choice but to wake up. Today was her 25th birthday, which meant the day was getting closer and she would be taking to her future Alpha eventually. She experienced her first heat when she was only fourteen years old, and that was when her parents told her about how she would need an Alpha in the future who would take care of her. They didn't mention if they chose anyone for her. They don't want to put unnecessary pressure on their child.

Ashley had run downstairs and into the kitchen, sitting down at the table with her parents and asking, "Did I do something wrong?"

Ashley's parents shook their heads before Alexander looked over at his daughter and said, "Sweetheart, as you know, tonight is the night you meet your Alpha's parents and your Alpha as well."

Ashley nodded her head slowly before looking down at the floor. Part of her had been dreading this day, but the other part of her seemed excited.

Monika smiled, placing her hand on her daughter's arm. "We just wanted to say we're proud of you, honey. You've worked hard all your life to be the perfect Omega and woman for yourself and your husband. The house is going to be lonely without you, but we will manage."

That's one thing Ashley was scared of. She doesn't want to leave her parents and her pack. She sees the discrimination between Alpha and Omega in other packs, and Ashley doesn't want to be part of that. Ashley nodded her head and smiled, standing up from the table. "I'm going to go hang out with Zia for awhile."

Monika nodded her head before she glanced at her husband and said, "That's fine, Ashley. Just make sure you come home on time; we need to leave for the elder party."

Ashley raises her eyebrows. What about her birthday party?

"Oh, baby, don't look like that. We can throw your birthday party tomorrow. You know how much the elders adore you; they want to see you, and you are also going to meet your Alpha."

Ashley seemed to relax after getting her answer, and she nodded her head with a smile. She left the kitchen and headed outside to the woods. He went to Zia and her secret spot in the woods, which was just a medium-sized treehouse the two of them had built. She climbed up the rope and reached the top, seeing that Zia was already there.

"You're here early. Your Alpha didn't want to hang out today." Ashley said as she took a seat on one of the beanbag chairs.

Zia let out a sigh, placing her comic book down. "He and I... had a fight this morning."

Ahley frowned and took a closer look at her best friend. Zia's cheeks looked red and rest stained; her eyes were red and swollen; she looked tired; and her hair was unkept, which wasn't like Zia at all.

"What did you two fight about?"

"He and I have been together since we were eighteen; you've never met him, and that's just due to the both of us being a few years older than you, but that's not the point. Anyway, last night, we were doing some stuff, and he pulled out a condom. A fucking condom, Ashley. I've told him so many times that until he and I are bonded, I'm not giving him my virginity. I don't care how many Betas and Omegas spread their legs for him in the past; I'm not doing it." Zia spoke out before sighing and crossing her arms.

Ashley didn't know how to reply. Her parents told her that she had to remain pure until her wedding night, just like her Alpha. Of course she did masturbate and finger herself, but she never actually slept with someone; she hasn't even kissed anyone either. She wanted her first time to be with her lover. Whenever she said that to someone, they would always laugh at her, but it was true. She wanted her mate to be her first.

"The best thing you two can do is just talk. Alphas and Omegas need to be on the same page, especially when it comes to sex. If he's only with you for sex, then you shouldn't be with him at all. A true Alpha should respect their Omega's wishes no matter what."

Zia looked over at Ashley, blinking her eyes before she chuckled, "I'm glad your parents taught you how to be an Omega because I truly do appreciate the random lessons here and there."

Ashley chuckled and shook her head, punching Zia in the arm. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, come on now. I have to be home in a few hours. Today Elder, throw a party, and I need to attend."

"Oh shit. I forgot what happened today night. How are you feeling?"

Ashley shrugged her shoulders, looking over at Zia. "I'm nervous and excited. I just hope he at least likes me, you know?"

"He'd be a complete fool if he didn't like you, Ashley. You still don't know his name either?"

Ashley shook her head and said, "No, I just know that he's older than me. That's all I could figure out from the phone calls my parents would have with his father."

Zia nodded her head and started talking to Ashley about the new book she was reading. Ashley tried her best to pay attention, but there was this nagging voice in the back of her head. Alphas were supposed to respect their Omegas, and when they say no, they mean no, but what if her Alpha pulled the stunt Zia Alpha did? Ashley wouldn't know what to even do. With all her training and learning through the years, she knows very well what to do. Her father always taught her good things.

Before it got dark, Ashley said goodbye to Zia and headed home. She needed to shower, freshen up a bit, and hope that her mother already had her outfit picked out because she was not the best when it came to fashion.

When she arrived home, she quickly hopped into the shower, washing her hair and body, making sure that she was clean and fresh. She brushed her teeth, flossed, and even used mouthwash. She fixed her hair after she dried it.

When she was finished in the bathroom, she walked into her room and let out a sigh of relief. Her mother picked out her clothes.

By the time she was finished, she looked at herself in the mirror, shyness slowly creeping up on her.

"I hope Alpha finds me pretty."

After an hour, when they reach the elders' mashion, they wish Ashley a happy birthday and even give her gifts. Which Ashley accepts shyly. She sees how some Alphas give her a dark look and how some Omegas and Betas throw daggers towards her. If you can kill Ashley, she is already dead. She is always the elder's favorite, and other pack omegas and betas never like this.

"Ashley, we brought many new flowers from the south side. Go and have a look and tell us if something is missing." Sebestian Starlight, the older elder, said, which made Ashley smile.

"The Williams are also coming here soon, so we will send your future mate there."

Ashley nodded shyly and left the place with a red face, which made everyone laugh.

Ashley is inside the garden; it is a bit dark, and she can't see her surroundings properly. Ashley was having fun with her flowers when she heard a footstep behind her, which made her heart stop.

"You must be Ashley Madden?"
