“Someone made her fall. I saw the maid try to get in front of her, and she lost her footsteps because"

“Enough Selene. Those are just your speculations. You don't have any proof to back up your claim.” His cold voice rang into her ears. This is not the same man she met a few weeks ago.

“If you want to save her, then find some proof to back up your claim or beg the Queen to release her.'

“You should go, he added. Rayne sat down on the couch and began to go through the parchment again. Selene was dumbstruck; he was looking at her with hatred, and she didn’t even know why.

“Thank you, my king,” she managed to say before leaving the room to shut the door behind her.

Her small feet made their way out of the room towards the corridor. She knew more than anyone that the Queen would never hear her plea.
