Chapter 7: The pain

Selene watched as Rayne pulled his pants down before thrusting his member into the maid's core. The maid moans softly against the wall while Rayne thrust into her cunt from behind. Selene couldn't watch it as she covered her ears with her hands. She wondered what she had done wrong for something like this to happen to her. Rayne had s*x with the maid in rage like a feral beast and took a glance at Selene in the room.

Rayne saw Selene turning his back to her while he fucked the maid, who didn't stop screaming as he devoured her whole like a beast. After several minutes of thrusting into the maid's cunt and he was still rock hard, he sent the maid out of the room and wore his pants.

“You should rest well. See you tomorrow,” Rayne said in his deep baritone voice before shutting the door behind him. He looked down at his pants, and he was still rock hard.

‘I will just find a way to get the release’ he muttered on his breath as he walked past his room.

Selene slumped on the floor as she found herself crying hard on the floor. “How could he do that in my presence?” Selene asked herself. She had never witnessed something like this before in her entire life, and there was no one she could talk to in the palace.

Left with no choice but to leave the palace, Selene tried to practice what she had learned when she was at home with her mother. Her mother had told her to relax her mind and body. Then she shut her eyes to have access to her mind, eyes, and heart.

"Try to see if you will sense her. She is within you, waiting for you to call her out.” Selene recollects her mother's words.

She closed her eyes and did what her mother had taught her back when she was at home. Selene has tried numerous times, but it didn't work. Right now, she needs those supernatural powers and strength if she wants to leave the palace. She concentrated her mind but felt nothing.

Exhausted, she walked up to the window and stared at the moonlight in the sky. Two maids came into the room to clean up the mess the king made in her room.

Selene fell asleep that night and woke up to see Queen Isabella in her room. The sun was already appearing when the Queen woke her up with a slap on her face.

“Are you wondering why the king is not here?” Isabella asked Selene, who wasn't ready to answer her question.

“The king left the palace this morning and will not be back for two days. How dare you try to steal what belongs to me?“ Isabella paused to let her words sink in. “You have been enjoying your stay in the palace all this while; don't you think it's high time you started working and not just eating the food alone? Guards!” Isabella called, and two royal guards standing at the doorpost came in.

“Take her to the kitchen and let her join others working. You cannot be eating free food, right? You this filthy little thing,” Isabella said with envy as she stared at the human.

“Can't you hear me?” Isabella asked the guards standing beside her, seeing them not moving.

“The king has instructed us not to let the lady leave the room, my queen." The guard explains, bowing his head.

“How dare you defy my words? I will have you beheaded if you refuse to adhere to my words. Now take her to the maids and let her join them to do the chores, Isabella said authoritatively.

Selene knew more than anyone not to cross Queen Isabella. The woman was known to be the strongest she-wolf in the kingdom; she worked as a merchant before she started supplying goods to the royal families. Selene followed the guards out of the room without uttering a word. She joined the other maids as her clothes were changed to the maids' clothes.

She was told to do different chores; she mopped the floor with others and also washed some clothes. When she was done washing the clothes, the high maid complained that she was slacking off.

She could hear the maids whispering among themselves.

“Is she new here too?”

“The King must have bedded her. Look at how she is walking."

“I heard she came in last night. Do you think the king took a liking towards her?”

Selene could hear their whispering, and right now, she just wanted to bury herself in the ground. She balled her fist in rage, as she wished to beat one of them up for messing with her.

She had to double up her strength as she joined others cooking in the kitchen. Many times, she would see Queen Isabella coming down the stairs to check if she was slacking off or not. When Selene later retired to her room that day, she was exhausted. The maids didn't attend to her like before, and now it seems Queen Isabella has the highest authority since the king is not in the palace.

Selene starts her usual work the second day; she worked her ass off, and this was when she began to master how the palace was structured while she planned her escape in secret. Selene, every night, will receive hurtful comments from the high maid and Queen Isabella. She makes sure to make life miserable for Selene.

Isabella hadn't forgotten the night she waited for Rayne to come back after going to the courtroom. She waited for several minutes until it was night. With no sight of Rayne coming in, she attempted to search to see if he was in the maid’s room, but he knew Rayne would never do that.

She would have walked past the door, not too far from the king's chamber, when she heard someone moaning in the room. She recognized the room to belong to the woman Rayne brought in not quite long ago. She walked away angrily and decided to make life miserable for the woman.

And now that she has Selene in the palm of her hand without the presence of the king in the palace, she couldn't wait to see her break down.
