I lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling as I recalled what just happened. The shame, the humiliation and the utter disrespect that I received from my supposed mate. The world was indeed a den of so many surprises; unpleasant surprises in my case.

I tried to get myself to sleep but I couldn't. The thoughts wouldn't let me. I imagined how my life was going to be from then henceforth. I thought about how badly I would be treated by everyone when they found out that my mate had sex with someone else.
