Raven’s POV

I spent hours asking the Moon Goddess why I had to suffer this way… One moment, I was questioning my fate, blaming the heavens…the next moment, I managed to see my situation in a positive light, turning my pain as fuel to gear up for whatever the future had waiting for me in store.

“I… Raven Kincade,” I breathed, hugging the oak tree tightly. “I vow to never return to the Iron Howlers Pack. I will live a life I deserve…not humiliated and looked down upon.”

Clenching my fists, I etched the promise I made in my heart and mind, the oak tree as the witness of my vow and unyielding conviction to keep going.

“I will never ever let you look at me like that again, Jax Thorn!” I added, closing my eyes tightly in hopes that tears would stop coming.

My sobs came again, quiet and full of everything I couldn’t say when they were all watching. I bit down on my knuckle just to stay quiet, just to keep from falling apart loud enough for the stars to hear. I kept saying my vows all over again, making sure I wouldn’t forget a word.

The night seemed long as I continued letting out my frustration, the pain, and the helplessness that I felt for myself. I cried and screamed until the ache stopped. By the time the tears dried up my eyes, I knew I could keep going.

“I won’t come back… I won’t beg or break. I can do this,” I whispered to myself, this time, calmer.

I pulled myself up, my legs feeling numb as I struggled to stand still. When I managed to regain the strength on my legs, I took a deep breath and glanced one more to the direction where the Iron Howlers Pack was.

I opened my mouth, but no words came out. Instead, I pulled a small smile, a smile filled with determination to survive without the pack. From hereon, I’d be burying the memories of my past, keeping them sealed in the depths of my mind as I moved forward in a new path I’d make for myself.

After spending days surviving in the forest by foraging food, I managed to find a nearby human town. It was going to be my first time mingling with the humans, so to make a good impression, I cleaned up in the river and changed into the dress I washed and dried.

I found myself in a human bar after that, sitting on the counter while staring at the glass of beer I was given. I told the waiter I didn’t have money, but he smiled and insisted.

“T-Thank you,” I said and gulped. My stomach was empty as I hadn’t foraged any food today, busying myself in preparing to look presentable as I entered the town.

“You’re welcome. Want some nuts?” The waiter asked, pushing a bowl of peanuts in front of me.

I opened my mouth to say something when he just smiled and bobbed his head. I took it that he was also giving me this for free.

“Ah!” I winced, feeling the sharp and burning sensation of alcohol in my throat. I didn’t expect human beers would taste so strong. “Ugh… It’s…” I was about to say it was bitter-tasting, so different from the beer made by our pack. But saying that might offend this human who gave me this treat for free.

“It’s delicious!” I lied, taking another gulp, making him and the others nearby laugh at my action.

It was strange. I’d usually feel anxious with people around me, just like when I was still in the pack. But the people in this bar… These humans… They didn’t seem to care about my origin. They laugh when something’s funny, complain about something bad, and get mad over frustrating matters. They weren’t singling me out…not making me feel like an outcast.

“Thank you. I will repay this once a day… I’m sure I will,” I whispered, bowing slightly at the man at the counter before leaving the bar.

The beer certainly tasted better after a few gulp, and the roasted peanuts were a perfect match. I left the bar with a smile, while deep inside, I was wondering where to spend the night. I had no money with me, so an alley should work. Or if I could find a place where people like me were allowed to stay then maybe…

What’s that?

I halted, holding my breath when I felt a presence. It was too familiar, but I didn’t expect to find them here.

“Werewolves,” I whispered, balling my hands into fist, preparing to defend myself.

Did Jax send someone to follow me? Did he order them to get rid of me after all?

My head was filled with questions when all of a sudden, a shadow loomed over me. A huge black wolf pounded on me, baring its fangs. I could see it in its eyes, it was ready to devour me any moment.

I dodged, grateful for the training I endured in the pack. I wasn’t the best, but I always listened to the instructor and learned some stuff from him.

“Who sent you?” I growled, holding the wolf down as I stepped on its head, successfully apprehending it. “Answer me!”

On the days I lived alone in the forest, I learned to make use of the strength I had within me.

The wolf growled as it slowly shifted back to its human form. I knew it! He was my kind…a werewolf. But what was he thinking of attacking me? Did he do it knowing I was also a werewolf?

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard footsteps coming my way. I heightened my senses, ready to attack in case someone appeared again.

“You’re good,” a man’s voice said from the dark, standing in the dark. “But that’s not enough to protect yourself if you wish to live in this place.”

I frowned, annoyed by his tone. “What do you mean? Did you come for your friend- Ah!” I cursed under my breath when the werewolf I was holding pushed me and escaped. Glaring at the man in the shadows, I blamed him for what happened.

“Did you come to distract me to help your friend?”

He smirked. “Friend? What is that even? Did you not know? The moment you trust someone and call them a friend, it’s like putting a knife on your neck.”

I hated to admit it, but he was right.

“Hey,” he continued, stepping out of the shadows. “Why don’t you join hands with me? Of course, not as a friend, but as a comrade. What do you say?” he smiled, extending his hand.

A comrade, huh?

  • Rejected By My Biker Alpha   Chapter 17

Jax's POV My steps softened. I walked towards Raven, my heart longing for her presence. With no invitation, I sat down at the edge of the bed side, my breath sinking inside. “ Raven…” My voice lowered. Cracks of the pages of the book Raven was reading filled my ears. “What are you doing here?” She asked, her tone casual with indifference. I shifted closer to her. “Can you talk to you for a moment?” I asked, anticipating a response from her. “Three minutes” Raven replied coldly, flipping to the next page of her book, giving me an icy treatment. But a weak smile snickered my face as I intended to use my three minutes wisely.“Thanks” I said and began. “ I have been having some challenges for some days now. This makes me sick inside, leading me to act coldly towards you” I tried to explain but Raven scoffed and muttered something inaudible to herself. I wondered if she was paying attention to what I was saying or not. She didn't remove the book from her face. She didn't look at

Jax's POV We made our journey to the Rogue pack following the wood parts with Tyler and Ash in the Frontline, guiding us through the narrow wood paths. We walked—almost silently. The past few days have been pretty tough for me. I've been trying to figure things out especially between myself and Raven. The distance between us has been killing because I didn't get the results I wanted from Raven. She didn't care about my feelings. Not once!My distance from her was a test—to know the strength of her affection for me but nothing worked. Raven remained unshaking and hard with her feelings for me. Raven, when did you suddenly become this hard? Why do you keep hurting my feelings for you? Can't you see that I can't live without you? My breath thickened as I walked silently behind Raven, my eyes fixed on her curves.Dried leaves fell off trees as a slight breeze blew, sending warmth to our bodies. Silence stretched. Longer than I had expected. As our journey progressed, we ar

  • Rejected By My Biker Alpha   Chapter 15

Raven's POVWith the realization of Jax’s coldness towards me in mind, I quietly followed him as he led us to the Moon pack's Alpha. We reached the pack house—a house built with bricks, his towels reaching the sky. The entire pack house vicinity was a sight to behold.Guards and maids busied themselves with little task, marching dutifully with purposeful strides. One of the guards led us inside, recognizing Jax. “I shall announce your presence and that of your members to Alpha Silver”. The guard said, his voice steady. Before he dashed out of the living room, he showed a vacant seat to sit while we await Alpha Silver's arrival. Minutes later, the Alpha walked inside the living room, his smile radiating. His smile broadened from the doorways as he approached us, suddenly recognizing Jax. “Alpha Jax Throne…?” Alpha Silver's voice softened, his eyes shifting to us. Jax leaned forward, a smile edged up in his face.“Alpha Silver… Long time no see” Jax giggled slightly. “ It's bee

Raven's POV Broken, I sank on the floor for a moment, utterly forgetting who I was…Forgeting Raven died and was buried three years ago on the night she was rejected by this same Alpha of Iron Howlers. How on earth did Raven come back to life? Who dug her out from the grave? Who?Jax's soft laugh and the crew's discreet chatter filled my ears as I leaned by the wall, watching them from the Window. Suddenly, he was acting cold and indifferent towards me but managed to be himself when he was in the midst of my crew. Just then, my eyes reddened, my eyes shifting to my wolf. I could feel her. My wolf. Her soft howl breaks into a sharp growl. I struggled to calm my wolf but it wasn't as easy as I thought. Suddenly, I snapped on my feet, remembering who I was. I am Ghost. A comrade. Leader of a crew. The dreaded female warrior and fighter. One who has never lost a battle. I conquered my past and have built a life for myself. I'm not that weak Omega—the worthless and rejected one

Raven's POV Days passed and we kept training tirelessly for the mission ahead of us.Day three is here and I have barely caught a sleep. Not even a single relaxation. It's been relentless training all through. Many of the gangs in the human territory feared me. I can't afford to lose my identity especially now that Jax Throne is part of the crew. That was the reason I stayed up throughout the night, training secretly. Years ago, I was the weak Raven whom Jax maltreated…Everything's different now. I can't let him see me fail. Not now. Morning warmth awoke, brightening the atmosphere with hues of lights. I didn't know how long the journey would last . Besides, I was going in search of my brother and also to find out why the Crimson Fang wanted to see Raven. The Iron Howl Pack needed the help of my crew too– to help defeat their attackers— Crimson Fang. Our mission has multiple layers with overlapping objectives. We'd need to work together as a team and as individuals pursui

Chapter 12 Jax's POVThe following day, Tyler and Ash returned back from their mission. We sat down in circles as usual, waiting with rapt attention for Tyler and Ash to narrate their ordeal to us“How did it go?” Raven asked, hands on the deck for busines. Stealing a glance at her, I can't help but admire her bravery. She's fearless and ruthless. How come she wasn't like this three years ago? Maybe I wouldn't have made the mistake of rejecting her as my mate. Bitting my lips, I managed to divert my gaze from Raven to Tyler just to avoid being distracted but I couldn't help it. “Ghost, I must confess, the journey isn't an easy one” Tyler said looking really exhausted and weak. “ We journeyed through the human territories, and got access to cross Moon pack's border using the influence of Jax” I noticed how Raven gave me a quick glance when Tyler mentioned my name.“ And…What next?” She asked, curious.Ash leaned forward speaking with a more serious tone. “ Crimson Fang crew a
