The few days that went by after the dinner party was a blur of Lily focusing her attention on getting a lay of Arkwright's working system, wrapping her head around Aaron's project and reconnecting with her family as best as she could.

Tuesday arrived faster than she would have liked and soon, she was in the doctor’s office, nodding along to a series of questions.

About an hour later, the meeting was coming to an end.

Doctor Fowler nodded his head as he closed the file before him. "It seems there's nothing to worry about. You can come back in a month's time to get the ultrasound for your child."

A smile slithered across Lily's face upon hearing this. The corners of her lips, although not entirely noticeable, tugged upwards, much like how a curtain is always pulled back slightly, allowing little light to bathe the wooden floor beneath.

"Thank you, Doctor Fowler." She said and the doctor nodded.

However, that little excitement of hers was short lived, killed instantly by the doctor Fowl
