Mira’s Pov

I had barely slept for an hour when Lady Hilda, the woman in charge of the Omegas pulled me out from my tiny bed. I groaned in anger, remembering I had done a lot of work the other night, helping out in preparing for Prince Xavier, the Alpha’s son who was taking the position of the Alpha King. I have done several tasks that made me weak and went inside late only to be woken up again when I haven't gotten any rest. I became furious.

“Hey, girl! Get up! How dare you sleep like you're some Princess.” She barked, angrily and it made me wonder what was making her upset. I was the one who was supposed to be mad. “I guess you have forgotten what your rank is, right? If not, what will give you the nerves to keep sleeping on a very important day like this!” she yelled at the top of her voice, not getting tired of screaming every time. I just had no idea why she was used to just shouting. I sluggishly stood up from bed and as expected, it got her more tense. She suddenly grabbed me by my hair and I yelped in pain. “You little piece of trash! Take this outfit to the Alpha’s room. This is what he will wear for the coronation, and mind you, if anything goes wrong, you'll be punished accordingly. Now leave!” she shrieked out loud, throwing the expensive clothes on me without caring who owns it.

It was when the door to my room was shut that the realization hit me. I'm to deliver the Alpha clothes? Why? I became confused. If the Alpha clothes were to be delivered, it shouldn't be me, everyone knows that. I couldn't understand why I had to be the one to deliver his clothes, especially on a day like this. Has the woman in charge forgotten how much he despised me? Why has she not sent someone else to go make the delivery?

Anyways, I had no choice other than to do what I was told. All I just needed to do was to pray that Prince Xavier would be in a good mood and I wouldn't have to face any trouble.

I was walking down the hallway when I saw Zadar stepping out of the Alpha’s room and I panicked. Without wasting a second, I quickly hid beside the pillar to avoid him seeing me. He resented me for no reason even when my father was alive and I knew meeting him that morning with the look on his face would stir up dramas that I wouldn't love.

I watched him walk through the hallway, passed me and I noticed how he was neatly dressed as if he was supposed to be Alpha. Even his clothes looked more elegant than the Prince’s own I was holding. Meanwhile, he was just the man who handled the position of the Alpha when the old Alpha and Luna died.

I sighed as I saw him take gradual steps out of the hallway, happy that I was able to avoid him. I came out of my hiding place and headed to the Prince’s room, my heart racing faster, knowing I might get into trouble seeing the way Zadar has left his chamber.

Just as I predicted, I started to hear metallic sounds coming out from inside the room as I got closer. It was then, I heard his hoarse voice. “How dare Zadar speak to me like that? Who does he think he is to talk down to me like I am a child.” The movements going on inside the room made me shake in fright. Xavier wasn't in a good mood and it wasn't going to be good either for me.

With the clothes in my hands, I took a deep breath, trying to

calm myself down. I was the one handling his coronation clothes to him and there was no way I would escape him. As I got to the door, I took a deep breath for a hundredth of time and swallowed my saliva, muttering some few words of prayers before knocking on his door. No response came in and I couldn't help but just go in. “The Alpha Ceremony is about to begin. Please change your clothes now,” I said softly as I took slow strides to him while lowering my head hoping not to annoy him.

“What are you doing here, you disgusting being?!” I wasn't surprised by his words so I allowed him say all he could utter as far as I was only giving his clothes to him while I tried apologizing in the process.

But it seemed like he was totally in a mad state that he gripped hold of my hair, the same hair everyone kept pulling and I tried to savor the pain but I felt something else instead. An electric pressure suddenly coursed through my veins and my wolf dangled within as I held my breath in astonishment. Then, it dawned on me. My mate!

“No, no. We can't be mates!” He snarled as I couldn't help but gasp.

“My mate?” I questioned no one in particular as I knelt, gazing widely at him.

How can we be mates? Prince Xavier? My worst nightmare, my mate? It can't just be. How can it be possible?

I knew it was impossible when he started to reject me and I never knew where the courage came from for me to accept the rejection. I just knew we cannot be mates. I accepted his rejection.

The shock on his face when I did it was vivid. I could feel the tension from his anger as he gazed dangerously at me.

“How dare you accept my rejection, you disgusting slave?” he bellowed, his voice resounding over the room.

“I wouldn't want to be mated to someone like you-”

He cut me short. “You dare speak to me like that? Do you just raise your voice at me? An Alpha?” He spoke with so much authority that I trembled between my feets.

“I'm sorry-”

“Oh! Bravo! The little nitwit has grown some wings. You can speak back to me now, huh?” He pursed his lips as he came closer to me. I could feel my lips shaky as he got close. “Have you forgotten I'm now an Alpha to you? Even your father in the grave would respect me,” he snapped and I just couldn't take it any longer. It was enough of my father, every single time, my father. The innocent man did nothing to him. All he did was look after the pack yet, all he got in return was a painful death.

“Please, do not disrespect my father like that ever again,” I spoke, harshly not believing my boldness but I knew it came from the anger of rejection and resentment.

“How dare you speak to an Alpha in such a way?!” He growled but I was more prepared.

“An Alpha indeed, huh? You're just a mere tool and that's it, I wouldn't be so excited if I were you,” I spat, trying not to maintain a gaze.

Devious laughter erupted from him as he spoke in between. “Such effrontery! To me, Xavier? Have you forgotten who you're speaking to?”

I hated his arrogance and I scoffed as I raised myself from the ground. “Yes, you. You, Prince Xavier. I don't mean to disrespect you but enough of my father and the hatred.”

His look was threatening but filled with surprise. He wouldn't have expected such guts from me. I was even more surprised by my own outburst. “Just know that you’ve beak1ten more than you can chew. If only you know what you're joking with,” he snarled as he turned to walk away but I wasn't done.

The words on the ancient page refused to leave my mind.Only a woman carrying this blood may break the curse of a Lycan King.I stared at the writing. Then at Prince Perry. “So that means…”“It means nothing yet.” His answer was immediate.I frowned. “But the book—”“Ancient records are not proof.” He closed the book. His expression had returned to its usual coldness. But I could see something different in his eyes. He was thinking.“Then why did you bring me here?”“To find the truth.” He stood and walked toward another section of the library.I followed. “Prince Perry, do you think I have this bloodline?”He stopped. “I don't know.”“Do you think my scent is connected to it?”His eyes met mine. “Possibly.”I swallowed. “And the visions?”“Possibly connected too.” He turned toward the shelves.“But possibilities aren't enough.”His fingers moved across several old books before stopping. “These records belonged to the first Lycan rulers.” He pulled out a thick black volume. “The oldes

Mira's Pov I couldn't stop thinking about the woman. Even after Prince Perry left the library, the image remained trapped inside my mind. The dark forest. The blood. The white dress. The blade. And those terrified eyes.I had never seen the woman before. Yet somehow, I felt as if I knew her. That frightened me more than the vision itself. I sat beside the library window, staring outside. My wolf was restless. She kept pacing inside me, reacting to something I couldn't understand. The door opened. I immediately looked up. Prince Perry entered. His expression was colder than usual. Behind him stood two palace guards carrying several old books. “Leave them.”The guards placed the books on the table and left.I stood. “What are those?”“Records.”“About the vision?” I asked, curiously. “Yes.”I stared at him. “You believe it was real?”Perry looked at me. “I saw it.”I nodded and said quietly. “So did I.”His eyes narrowed. “You saw it too?”I nodded. “The moment our hands touched.”He

Mira's PovI knew something was wrong the moment I woke up. A man was standing outside my bedroom door. He was dressed in the dark-blue uniform of the Blue Ivory palace guards, his silver sword strapped firmly to his waist. He looked at me. I looked at him. Then I looked down the corridor. “Why are you standing there?”“I have been assigned to protect you.”I frowned. “By whom?”The guard straightened. “Prince Perry.”Of course. I folded my arms. “I don't need a guard.”“That isn't my decision.”I sighed. “Wherever I go?”“Yes.”“Even when I eat?”“Yes.”“When I walk?”“Yes.”“When I sleep?”His expression remained completely serious. “I will remain outside your door.”I stared at him. “This is ridiculous.”The guard said nothing. I turned around and marched toward the staircase. I had barely taken three steps when I heard footsteps behind me. I spun around. “You're following me already?”“I was ordered to.”“Prince Perry is impossible.”The guard's lips twitched. I narrowed my eyes.

Mira’s POVI woke up to loud knocking on my door. I sat up immediately. My heart raced. No one usually came to my room this early. Another knock came.“Lady Mira!”I quickly got out of bed. “Coming.” I opened the door. Three palace guards stood outside. The moment I saw their serious expressions, my stomach tightened. “What happened?”“Come with us.”I frowned. “Why?”The guard in front stepped forward. “You are required to answer questions.”“About what?”He didn't answer. “Please come with us.”I looked from one guard to another. “What have I done?”No one responded. Fear began creeping through me as I stepped out and followed them into the corridor. Several servants stopped what they were doing to watch. Whispers immediately began.“That's her.”“She was caught.”“I knew something was wrong with that girl.”I looked at the guards. “Caught doing what?”Still no answer. They took me to the main hall. When I looked around, I could see a lot of them. Several nobles were there and at t

Mira’s POVThe Blue Ivory Palace felt different that morning. I noticed it the moment I stepped into the main hall. Servants were moving quickly. Guards stood straighter than usual. Several nobles had gathered near the entrance, whispering among themselves.I stopped beside one of the pillars. “What is happening?”The maid beside me lowered her voice. “Princess Bianca is coming.”“Princess Bianca?”“Yes. Alpha Xavier's sister.”My stomach tightened. I had never met Bianca properly. But I knew enough about her family to feel uneasy. She was Xavier's sister. That alone was enough. But before I could ask anything else, the palace doors opened.A group of guards entered first. Then a young woman stepped inside. She had long red curls, striking red-brown eyes, and a confident expression. Her dress was elegant and expensive. She carried a beautifully wrapped box.The servants immediately bowed. “Princess Bianca.”She smiled graciously. “I've come to deliver a coronation gift to Prince Perry

Kieran’s POVThe gates of the Blue Ivory Palace opened before my carriage. I looked through the window at the familiar palace towers. I had been away for too long. Too long to even remember. And yes, I missed Blue Ivory Palace. It's my home. The place where I grew up. The place where my memories wouldn't stop mentioning. Blue Ivory Palace wasn't just a place where I grew up, it was my soul.I stepped down from the carriage as the guards bowed. “Welcome home, Lady Kieran.”I nodded. “Thank you.”I had barely taken three steps when one of the palace servants hurried toward me. “Lady Kieran, His Highness knows you're here.”My heart lifted. “Where is Prince Perry?”“In the western hall.”I smiled. Of course he was. Prince Perry had always preferred quiet places as much as I could remember. A very good friend of mine who happened to be the reason I had left in the first place but I wasn't back for that. I heard the news. A new lady was around and not only was she new, she could tame Princ
