Kiara's POV.

"Whatever, now turn around, I want to take off my clothes," I said and a creepy smirk broke out on his face.

"What if I don't want to be responsible?" He said.

"Hyde, please, turn the hell around!" I gritted in frustration and he chuckled under his breath.

"Fine," he nodded, raising his hands in surrender, and turned around.

I quickly stripped off my clothes leaving only my underwear and turned around.

My eyes flew wide open in horror as I sighted him facing me with his eyes wide open staring at me.

"How dare you!" I yelled, glaring hard at him.

"I caught you staring." I

"That's because I let you," he winked.

Oh, this man. I'm supposed to be scared of you, why am I feeling different now?

I could feel his gaze piercing into my skin as I walked towards the river brink, dipping my legs on the water and lowered myself on the edge.

The feeling of the cold water against my skin was absolutely awesome, it sent a relaxing sensation through my body.

My eyes squeezed shut, totall

Kiara's POV."I didn't mean to say that." I quickly apologized as I realized the gravity of my words. Surprisingly, he chuckled lightly, shaking his head amusedly. "You don't have to apologize, it actually sounded a lot different having someone say it to my face than hearing it behind the faceless rumors."I stared blankly at him without saying a word, although I had a question running through my head, threatening to burst through my mouth. "Spit it out Kiara, I'm all ears." His next words sounded like an active bomb explosion over my ear. He can read my thought now or what?He really acts so strange sometimes. "Uhm.. please don't take this the wrong way, but all my life, I've heard the rumors.. The demon king.. is.. uhm.. is it true?" I wasn't bothered about how badly I must have spelt out my sentence, I was more concerned about finally letting it out.He chuckled lightly. "It might be true." "Or it might as well just be rumors," I stared blankly at him, unable to process his e

Kiara's POV.I went to bed that night with a smile so wide that my cheeks ached. The warmth of Hyde’s lips on my cheek lingered like a sweet memory refusing to fade. I replayed the moment over and over again, feeling a strange sense of excitement that was entirely new to me. Sleep came easily, and for the first time in a long while, I didn’t feel the weight of loneliness pressing down on me.** I woke up the next morning with an energy I hadn’t felt before. Unlike other mornings where I would wake up feeling disappointed that Hyde was nowhere beside me, today was different. He wasn’t there, but it didn’t sting as much. Instead, I felt a smile stretch across my face as I stretched my arms lazily, feeling unusually refreshed.Humming to myself, I went through my usual morning routine, taking extra care with my appearance. The excitement bubbling inside me made me feel like I was glowing from within. As I brushed my hair, I allowed my thoughts to drift back to last night. The way Hyde h

Kiara's POV.I sat by the garden, my fingers lightly tracing the edge of the stone bench beneath me. The rising sun was warm against my skin, but there was an odd chill inside me that nothing could quite banish. Lady Isabella's words kept echoing in my mind, haunting me with their implications. Every time I thought I had a handle on the situation, her smile, so cold and knowing, would creep back into my thoughts.Did they really see me as some pawn to be used in their game? It made my stomach twist uncomfortably. I wasn’t some fragile, naive girl. I wasn’t a simple tool to be manipulated, because I don't have a wolf doesn't mean I'm that weak, and I really don't think they know that I'm wolfless, why then do they think me this naive? My mind raced with those thoughts, the feeling of unease gnawing at me.I let out a sigh, pushing the thoughts aside. I didn’t need this. I needed a little peace from the haunting thoughts. But that was becoming harder to find. The sudden rustling sound

The morning at the crescent Star pack on this day was all about the community work, usually done once every month.Repairs to the old wall that separated the pack's territory from the others beyond, strengthening the borders, and preparing for the changing seasons. It was meant to be a demonstration of unity, though few actually saw it that way. Hyde’s arrival didn’t go unnoticed. Everyone present seemed genuinely happy to see him, bowing slightly in recognition of his presence. It was what angered his brothers, his attachment with the pack members despite the rumors spread about him. They stood in the background, watching everyone else work while they inspected, it was the usual routine being the king's sons.Hyde, however, was a different story. As he walked toward the group, he didn’t stop to play the role of an aloof ruler as always. He didn’t even look at his brothers. Instead, he rolled up his sleeves and grabbed a shovel, joining the workers with a quiet intensity. He shove

The forest swallowed Hyde whole as he pushed deeper into the woods. He didn’t care about the thorns that scraped his arms or the branches that slapped against his face. The roar inside him was louder than the rustling leaves or the wind through the treetops. He found a space... surrounded by crooked trees and stopped. His chest heaved, his breath ragged with rage. Without hesitation, he turned toward the nearest tree and slammed his fist into its trunk. The bark bit into his knuckles, splitting the skin, but he didn’t stop. Another punch. And another.“Damn it!” he growled, each word guttural, shaking through clenched teeth. The bark tore, and blood was beginning to coat his fist, but Hyde barely felt it. Pain was welcome it made sense. It had rules. Unlike Alonzo’s twisted schemes. Unlike the burning anger that clawed at his insides because he’d had to walk away when everything in him screamed to destroy his brother. He leaned forward, his palms flat against the tree, breathing hard.

Just laid there, covered in the sheets. then I stirred slightly to check who it was, and my breath caught in my throat.Hyde.Something in the way the atmosphere in the room moved when he entered. I sat up slowly, pushing the covers off. The room was a bit dark, but I could still make out his face. I slowly sat up, my gaze fixed on him. He didn’t say anything. Just stood there my heart skipped a beat when I sighted blood crusting over his knuckles like dried paint.“Hyde,” I breathed. He didn’t even look up. His shoulders were rigid, his coat hung open, and his hands… gods, his hands.I didn’t ask right away. I didn’t say anything else. I just turned, walked into the bathroom, and ran the water.I found one of the smaller towels, soaked it through, wrung it out, and came back.He still hadn’t moved.“You’re dripping on the floor,” I murmured, gently. That got his attention. He f

Hyde fumed with anger and frustration as he stormed through the hallways of the quarters. The building was familiar, holding the memories of far too many nights spent in the same disarrayed state... fueled by anger, by tension, or even crave for pleasure. It was his last resort; it was where men like him went when the world weighed too heavily on their shoulders and needed a night of pleasure and ecstasy. The last time he had walked these halls, it had been under vastly different circumstances, with a sense of triumph and freedom that came knowing he wouldn't be back. Because he was getting married and the last thing he wanted was to cause her pain by cheating with his other mistresses. But it seemed that was too much sacrifice for her. Tonight, he was ready to feed his beast, it's been a long while anyway. And what better way to do that than with Valerie? the woman who had once held a place in his life... who had once known the touch of his lips, his hands, and the dark corners

Kiara's POV.The tears had stopped, but the ache hadn’t.I sat there, my knees hugged to my chest, as the moon’s reflection moved in the rippling stream like it was mocking me. The night was quiet now. The kind of quiet that lets your thoughts get louder. I hated that part the most. When your mind starts replaying every word, every stare, every truth you’ve tried to bury. She’s not one of us. She doesn’t even shift. They weren’t wrong.I’d tried to tell myself they didn’t matter, that I didn’t need their approval. But tonight, surrounded by a pack that was transforming under the full moon while I sat on the outside, I had never felt smaller.Eventually, I pushed myself up, limbs stiff, heart heavier than before. I shuffled over to the wooden bench near the water’s edge and sat, closing my eyes and breathed in the scent of earth and water.Maybe just five minutes, I told myself. Just a moment to feel like I’m not falling apart. And for a moment, I did feel safe.Until something moved

Kiara's POVThe evening was in full bloom and I was alone in the room.It was beginning to get suffocating, repeating the same process of the day always. So I decided to step out.The cold evening breeze washed over me and for the first time in what felt like days, I felt alive again. But I hadn’t walked more than a few yards before I noticed something strange.Everyone… was rushing. The streets, usually lazy and slow this time of day, were suddenly buzzing. Everyone hurrying in the same direction. Warriors. Mates. Even the older omegas who never left the kitchens. I paused, watching as people poured out of homes and buildings, heading toward the heart of the woods.Where were they going?A maid, Mila, I think her name was... brushed past me, nearly tripping on her hem.“Mila!” I called out, jogging to catch up.She turned, flushed and breathless, clearly in a rush.“My lady, oh, you're not ready yet?” she asked, confused.“Ready for what?” I frowned. Her brows shot up like I’d just t

Kiara's POV.It was past noon, and the house's still silence all over the house was so suffocating, I wanted to scream. The quiet wasn’t peaceful, it was stifling. The kind of silence that seeps into your bones and makes every creak of the floor, every tick of the clock, every rustle of fabric feel too loud. I had been alone since Hyde slammed the door behind him last night, storming out of his training hall. Since he decided, again that the best way to deal with our disagreements was to run.And this time, he ran to them. His mistresses. His pretty little distractions. His poisonous comforts. Women who didn’t ask questions, didn’t make demands, didn’t fight back when his anger rose like a storm tide. Women who didn’t care about him, not the way I did, not the way that demanded truth. My fingers were tangled in my hair, half heartedly trying to make sense of the chaos there, but I kept losing focus. I sat on the large dressing chair in our bedroom, before the mirror. I hadn't opened

The door clicked shut behind him as Valerie practically ran out, but Hyde didn’t move. The room felt hollow, too quiet, too still. His heartbeat loud enough that he could hear them in his ears, louder than the muted music outside or the whisper of voices from the hallway as the quarter party continued. He stood there, his back pressed against the wood, trying to collect the pieces of whatever was left of him after that encounter. His knuckles still ached from how hard he’d gripped her wrist. Shame prickled the back of his neck. He hadn’t meant to hurt Valerie... not really... but he also hadn’t expected his emotions to boil over like that. Rage, guilt, confusion… it all clawed at him.He ran a hand over his face, exhaling slowly, the weight of his choices pressing harder than ever. This place that once felt like his pleasure pack away from his worries, now it felt like a crypt, each memory layered with dust and regret. The lavish couch by the window, the half drunk bottle of scotch
