“When is he coming?”

I whispered to myself and checked the time again. he told me ten pm and now it was almost midnight and he still wasn’t back yet. If he knew he won’t be back as early as he told me then why didn’t he call me to let me know he changed his mind or was going to be behind time? I hated being kept waiting with not as much as a text.

I have been checking my phone nonstop since the clock hit ten pm. I wonder why the delay and why he didn’t call to tell me. He sounded excited when I asked him out on a date. It was something I thought of once Martha left and Joan was snacking and watching TV. I sent the text as soon as I thought of it and got a response back within seconds.
