LOGINTricia's POV
Maxwell didn't even wait for silence to settle before he reached into his pocket and pulled out a thick roll of bills and threw them on the floor.
"Pick that up," he said coldly. "Run to the pack store and get what my baby wants."
The words hit me like something physically impossible to process.
For a second, I just stood there, staring at him, wondering if something had completely snapped in his mind because there was no other explanation for what I was witnessing.
"You want me," I finally said, my voice trembling but rising anyway, "your Luna, to go and buy coconut water for your little witch?"
Before I could say anything else, Laura gasped dramatically and clutched her chest.
"Baby!" she cried out. "Did you hear what this oversized balloon just called me? Alpha, do something right now!"
Maxwell didn't hesitate.
He jumped down the stairs like a man who had no fear of breaking his own neck, landing heavily in front of me with burning eyes.
"Are you out of your mind, Tricia?" he snapped.
I didn't even flinch.
"I should be asking you that question, Alpha Maxwell," I shot back immediately.
He blinked once. "What?"
"You heard me," I said, my voice shaking but firm now.
"Have you lost your mind, Maxwell? You went behind my back for years, humiliated me publicly, brought another she-wolf in as your chosen mate while I'm still your bonded Luna, and now you expect me to serve her?"
Maxwell let out a short, cold laugh like I had said something ridiculous.
"Isn't that the only thing you're good at?" he said. "Running pack errands so you can eat and get even more fat?"
My breath caught, but he didn't stop.
"So what if I got another she-wolf pregnant?" he continued. "Do you want me to die without an heir just because you're barren?"
"I am not barren, Maxwell!" I yelled instantly.
"How am I supposed to carry your pup when you haven't touched me in almost a year?"
"I would rather get struck by lightning," he said slowly, each word deliberate, "than touch a she-wolf like you."
Immediately Maxwell finished speaking, Laura, Vanessa, and his mother burst into laughter.
My fists clenched and unclenched at my sides as I turned toward Laura.
"Hey you," I said, my voice low and shaking with control I was barely holding onto. "Little witch. What's so funny?"
Laura tilted her head slightly, like she was studying something amusing.
"Oh, you're talking to me?" she said softly as she smirked.
Then she let out a small laugh, her eyes dragging over me from head to toe.
"Well, I just find your situation really funny. Not only are you overweight, you're also sex-starved by your own mate. That's honestly so sad. Pick a struggle, sis."
I took one step closer.
"At least being fat and sex-starved is better than being a pregnant whore carrying a bonded Alpha's pup out of wedlock," I said, my voice colder than I expected.
The room went silent for half a beat, then Laura's face changed.
Her hand flew to her chest as if I had physically struck her, and her eyes immediately filled with tears.
"Baby!" she cried, turning sharply toward Maxwell. "Did you hear what she just called me? This is all your fault! I shouldn't have come here to be disrespected like this!"
"I'm leaving," she said through tears, grabbing his sleeve. "I'm going back to the States. I'll raise this pup alone. You'll never see us again, and I'll tell him his father was a coward who couldn't even protect his own mate."
Maxwell immediately dropped to his knees right there in front of everyone, his hands wrapped around Laura's leg as he looked up at her like his entire world depended on her breathing the next second.
"Please," he begged, his voice cracking completely. "Don't leave me. I can't lose you. You're the only she-wolf I've ever loved."
Then, almost like something inside him broke, he dropped forward and gripped at her dress, refusing to let go.
"I'm sorry," he kept saying, over and over again. "Please don't go. I'll do anything. Anything you want."
His mother followed immediately, rushing forward and grabbing Laura's hand with both of hers.
"Daughter-in-law, please," she said desperately, her voice softer now, almost pleading. "Don't do this. You know you're carrying my grandpup," she added gently.
"You're not supposed to be stressing yourself over irrelevant people like her."
His sister was next, stepping in quickly.
"Sister-in-law, please," she added urgently. "Don't let her ruin this. She doesn't matter. You're the one we accept. You're the one we choose."
Laura wiped her eyes dramatically, but her expression had already shifted again.
"No," she said firmly, pulling away from Maxwell's grip. "I don't take disrespect lightly.
She straightened slowly, her voice sharpening.
"In fact, I should call my father."
A few heads in the room shifted instantly.
"Does she even know who my father is?" She continued, her tone rising with pride.
"My father is Adams Sinclair, Beta to the Crestwood Alpha. One of the most powerful wolves in this region."
She stepped forward slightly, pointing at me now.
"She owes me an apology," she said sharply. "Right now. Or I'm leaving, and you all will lose me."
I let out a cold laugh through gritted teeth.
"I'd rather die than apologize to my husband's mistress."
The room went still.
"Everyone," I snapped, turning sharply, "get out of my pack house right now!"
Then I looked at Maxwell's mother and Vanessa.
"You both are despicable."
Without waiting for a response, I turned and walked toward the stairs.
But the moment my foot touched the first step
Everything happened too fast.
A sudden scream tore through the room.
I turned back sharply to see Laura on the floor, writhing in pain."She pushed me!" she screamed. "I'm losing the pup! Please help me!"
Caspian’s POVSeraphina’s father was waiting for me when I arrived at the Crestwood estate. The moment I stepped out of the car, he walked toward me.“Lycan king Caspian.”I smiled. “Sir.”He offered his hand, and I shook it.“Please, come inside,” he said. “We should speak privately.”He led me through the pack house and into his study.Once we were inside, he closed the door and gestured toward one of the chairs.“Sit,” he said. I did, then he took the seat opposite me.For several seconds, neither of us spoke. Then he sighed.“I can see how desperate you are to speak with my daughter. It is written all over your face.”“I am.”“She doesn’t want to see me, she has refused every attempt I’ve made.”“I know. I’ve seen everything happening.”“I have gone to the company and she ordered the staff not to allow me in. I am asking for your help to reach her.”Her father studied me in silence for several seconds. Then he asked the one question that mattered most.“Did you cheat on my daught
Seraphina’s POVI had spent the last few days doing everything I could to avoid thinking about Caspian.I buried myself in work from early morning until late at night, refusing every call that came from Caspian’s number. The sight of his name on the screen still made my chest tighten. I could not accept what I believed had happened in his room. The image of his former mate on his lap refused to leave me, and answering the phone felt like reopening a wound that had not even begun to close.I barely attended meetings outside Crestwood headquarters. I stopped accepting invitations. I ignored dinners, social gatherings and every event my father tried to convince me to attend. My father was worried and came to my office to look for me. He met me working on some projects. My desk was covered in reports and financial statements. A half-empty cup of cold tea sat beside my hand.“Seraphina.” I looked up from the documents on my desk. My father stood in the doorway.“You’ve been here since ear
Emelda’s POVI threw the last dress into the suitcase so hard that the hanger snapped.“How dare he?”My hands were shaking. My own brother had ordered me out of Ironmoor again because of her. Because of Seraphina.I refused to accept it.I had spent my entire life with my brother. I had stood beside him through everything and yet the moment Seraphina came into his life, suddenly I was the problem. The door opened behind me.“Emelda.”I didn’t turn. “Leave me alone.”Patrick walked into the room anyway. He looked at the half-packed suitcases scattered across the floor.“What are you doing?”“What does it look like?”He sighed. “I heard what happened.”I didn’t answer him, instead I grabbed another dress and folded it into the suitcase.“My own brother humiliated me.”Patrick moved closer but did not try to stop me from packing. “I know you are hurt.”I spun around. “He threw me out of my home!”Patrick’s tone stayed calm. He carefully avoided criticizing Caspian directly. “Em, calm do
Caspian’s POVImmediately the door closed behind my former mate, the silence that followed felt heavier than the confrontation itself.I remained alone in the office, the scattered food still on the floor, the confession still ringing in my ears. Emelda had brought her back and had promised her the position of Luna if she destroyed my marriage. My own sister.I couldn’t think at the moment. All I could hear was Seraphina’s voice.“I will terminate our contract.”She had stood in front of me with tears in her eyes and told me that and I had let her walk away.I had allowed the woman I loved to leave Ironmoor believing I had betrayed her.My chest tightened.“Fuck.”I grabbed my hair with both hands. She had looked at me with such hurt that night because she had believed I betrayed her, and I had let her leave without knowing the truth. That was the worst mistake of my life.I grabbed my phone and immediately dialed her number. It rang but she didn’t pick up. I lowered the phone slowly
Caspian’s POVAria smiled when she heard what I said. She stood in front of my desk with the tray still between us, her expression carefully soft.“You want to know why I am here?”“Yes.”“I realized I could not live without you,” she said. “I was wrong to let so many years pass. I was wrong about everything I did back then. I am sorry, Caspian. Truly. Seeing you again made it clear that I never stopped caring or loving you.”I stared at her, and for a moment and didn’t know what to say. Then I laughed, not because I found it funny but because I couldn’t believe she expected me to accept that explanation.“After all these years?”Her eyes filled with tears. “I know how it sounds but that’s the truth Caspian, you need to believe me. I love you.”I stepped closer. “You disappeared from my life for years, you watched me marry someone else. You knew I had moved on and now you’re back like nothing happened?.”“I was afraid.”“Afraid of what? Listen Aria, you already lost me, you’re my past
Caspian’s POVAfter everything that happened Aria didn’t leave. If anything, she seemed determined to make herself impossible to ignore.Every day, she would make sure she came to where I was. Sometimes she simply stood there, waiting for me to notice her.Other times, she would bring food for me. One morning, she brought food to me. “I brought you breakfast.”I barely looked at it. “I’m not hungry.”“You haven’t eaten properly in days.”“I’m fine.”“You don’t look fine.”I looked at her. “Aria.”She sighed.“I’m sorry.”“Then stop.”She frowned. “Stop what?”“Forcing it.”“I’m only trying to help.”“I don’t need your help, Aria.”She lowered her eyes. “Caspian, look at me, am I not good enough? We used to be so much in love.”“That was years ago.”Her expression fell.“I know.”“Then don’t bring the past into my present.”She nodded slowly.“Alright.”I thought that would be the end of it but the next day, she came again. This time with lunch.“You skipped breakfast.”“I didn’t as
Tricia's POV"Tricia, what have you done!" Maxwell exploded, his voice shaking with rage."How dare you! So this has been your plan all along, huh? You're jealous because you can't carry a pup so you decide to kill another she-wolf's child!”"No, no," I shook my head rapidly, tears already blurring
Tricia / Seraphina’s POVI stared at him, waiting for him to laugh or to say it was a joke but Caspian didn’t instead he sat beside me waiting for my reply. “Are you insane?” The words ripped out of me, sharp and loud in the quiet hospital room.“Marriage? You want to marry me?,”“Yes,” he said si
CHAPTER 5Tricia's POVThe nurse looked genuinely scared and said this was a case of amnesia, but she didn't know why I was claiming another identity. She hurried off, saying she wanted to call the doctor. She added that the one who saved me had been among the guests at my husband's pack gathering
Tricia's POVFor a moment, I forgot how to breathe. This had to be some kind of twisted prank. My lips parted, ready to say something, anything, but before I could form a word, the room erupted into loud cheers."The Alpha has spoken!""She's perfect for him!""Now that's a true Alpha pair!"I stoo
