Despite the smiles they gave me, I could hear the people whispering as I walked into the gala alone.

It was practically unheard of for an Alpha to walk in with someone who hasn’t his Luna, and yet, there Alex was, hand in hand with Margaret. I expected the whispers, but I was shocked by what I heard.

I nearly snorted at that, but another conversation drew my attention.

“I heard that he is having an affair with that human woman. That is so disgusting and unacceptable. I can’t believe he would do that to his Luna. He should be honoring her and protecting her image.”
