Eliora's POV
I was so pained as his strong palm dragged me against my will. There was no way I would choose to go with him ever in this life. We just met, and yet, he was claiming to feel the bond, and I was supposedly his mate. Hilarious right?I pondered in my thoughts feeling like I should just peel off my flesh at the exact place he was holding so he would let go but due to how aggressive he was, I knew for sure that an attempt would be futile. We headed towards the car and everyone was watching how I was being dragged. No one dared to intervene, having known the story behind this man. He was feared by every pack, and I was also scared of him.“Why is he taking her? She is in this pack. Where is he taking her?”“What is going on?”“Why isn't the Alpha doing anything? Why would he allow one of us to be taken?”Some people whispered and they came across me. Hearing their words, my heart melted. I never thought they would accept me, maybe they would, but I thought they might be faking it. But then, from their expression, I was certain they meant every word they said. However, none of them dared to approach, knowing they might be single-handedly killed by him. He was ruthless, arrogant, and also prideful.“Get in the car!” He opened the door and let go of my arm. His eyes held a shade of emotion in them, but I couldn't allow myself to be lured in.“I said get in!” He said again, this time his voice sounded harder than before while his face was squeezing. Despite that, I wasn't moved. I stood with crossed arms looking at the pack house, expecting Ario to miraculously jump out and come save me, but he wasn't coming.“I don't have patience, woman. It's either you get in or I force you. I have never seen someone as stubborn as you.” He sneered.“Why do I care? Just leave me alone and pretend you never saw me!” I clicked my tongue and was waiting for an opening. The second I get, I intend to make a run for it.“Don't test my patience. You won't want to make a scene here. At least not now. Don't think all these people can save you.” He suddenly sounds different making shivers run down my spine. When he saw we had gotten the best of me, he grabbed me by the arm and tucked me into the car. The urge to fight him slipped away as I didn't see Ario coming to my rescue. With how Devlin here was deadly, even I would need some time before coming at him. After having that thought, I sighed and placed my head on the window glass having a view of the pack as I knew I would be gone for a while.Vroooom! He started the engine and dropped the car off in silence, while I was left pondering in my head.___After a while, we arrived at a different city filled with beautiful homes. Compared to the Arios pack, it had certain standards that would leave anyone staring for a long while. I was caught in awe and kept twirling my head around.“You like the view?” Devlin asked, but I ignored him. Just then I remembered evil places always looked the finest just so it could be tempting enough.“Ignoring me now, huh?” He grinned, leaning forward towards me, but I shrugged.“Alpha, you are back?” Someone suddenly called out from outside, and he leaned back and then pushed the door open. I also followed him and in front, I could see a massive building secluded at a place. That must be the pack house, I concluded.Toward the front, there was a blond man who was heavily structured walking towards us. His body was covered with muscles but then compared to him Devlin was more.“Yes, I am back. And also I came with good news.” Devlin pulled me towards him, clinging myself to his body possessively, and everyone had their eyes staring at me widely.“She is my mate.” He said, and just then I saw some men walking behind the blond man with smiles on their faces.“She's your mate?” The blond man said, but unlike the others, he was frowning. His eyes were glued to me as he watched me intensely, almost as though he could set me up in flames. Then he started sniffing the air and walking faster towards me.“You brought a human to the pack?” He grumbled as he sniffed further and was on the verge of dragging me off when Devlin tossed his hand away. Quickly, I closed my eyes as my heart flew to my chest in fear as I thought something was going to happen to me.“Back off!” Devlin snorted at him. I opened my eyes after feeling a sense of protection from him and looked forward. There was a kind of tension between them, but the blond man didn't look like he would back down.He was ready to stand Devlin head-on. Shockingly, That was the first time I had seen someone with courage like this.“Back down? You brought a human, and you want me to back down? I hope this is a joke. I hope she's just supposed to be a maid here in the pack right?” The blond man didn't back down. He was ready to fight it out, and I started doubting if Devlin was the Alpha. The kind of aura the blond man was emitting was as though he were above him.But then I didn't pay too much attention to all that, as I knew I was the center of everything. I knew everything was going to end in my head and for this once I found myself clinging to Devlin for protection.“A maid?” Devlin finally spoke, with a shade of darkness occupying the upper side of his face.“Yes! I'm not right?” The blond-haired man countered him.“How dare….you!" Delving rumbled and lunged at him.Devlin POVI was so filled with rage. There was no way I would let someone, even though he was a beta, insult my woman. I would never tolerate such a thing, and it should be known to everyone.“How dare you!” I reached for him, grabbed his face, and smacked him on the floor. My moves were just so fast that evading me was impossible. I saw how he leaned backward and was thinking of attacking but didn’t know if it was a suitable option. That would have been the worst option for him if he attacked me. Well, I wasn’t expecting this to be easy as he was someone who could put on a good fight.“Alpha!”“Alpha!”Everyone gasped, seeing what I just did. Even Elora wasn’t exempted from the shock. She was even louder, and it was a good thing because she would get to see how important she was to me.“Is it because of this human, that you have hurt me so badly? Is it bad for me to try to open your eyes to the truth?” Lucian grumbled right after getting himself back. The impact of the attack was so
Devlin POV“I see you have joined yourself with gossipers and it was quite enjoyable to you, right?” I said with a hint of sarcasm in my words, but anger was seeping into my face, and she could see it.“Ooh, Alpha, I am deeply sorry. It must be a misunderstanding.” She bowed quickly.“A misunderstanding? Can this be a misunderstanding? I caught you in the middle of a group gossiping, and you call it a misunderstanding?” I was shocked by how hilarious she sounded.“No. I was curious when I saw a gathering here so I wanted to see what was going on for myself.” She replied quickly while I scanned her closely to tell if she was lying to save her skin, or maybe she was telling the truth.I wouldn't have believed it, but on second thought, I remembered I was also curious to know what was going on at first until I heard what the maid said.Sighing, I shook my shoulders as I slowly let go of the anger before looking back at her.“That's fine. I have brought my mate to the pack and I want you
Elora POVStanding before the window, I leaned forward to see some warriors training. Not only males but females were among them. Their moves captivated my eyes, and I was awestruck watching them, but I realized I could never be one of them.I had no wolf, and maybe I would continue to be weak for my entire life starting from today."Alpha brought a human to the pack?” A lady warrior said as she was exchanging fists with someone.“Yeah, I saw her with both eyes. She looks weak. I think the Alpha is keen to join her in the collection of girls he had slept with, if not what other use can she have? She can't fight, she can't be anything. She's even weaker than omegas in the pack.” Another lady snickered and was brimming with happiness as she said those words.I felt like my heart was split open. So I would be used? That was all this was about? I fumed, unable to contain myself. I didn't know whether it was out of jealousy or something I hadn't seen yet, but I could tell their words were
Elora's POVBlood kept oozing down my neck without stopping, and once again I felt so weak. If I was strong or maybe had a wolf, then I could have easily healed these wounds. It hurts. So much that I could tell as the pain throbbed inside my body.“Are you alright?” The woman asked, but I had no response. My hand was wrapped around my neck trying to put pressure on the wound as hard as I could as it felt like my blood would get drained soon, and maybe my head would fall off.“Come sit here while I help you clean out the wound. I see you can't heal.” She said again, and I couldn't tell if it was it of worry or pity. Well, at the moment it wasn't like I cared about what she thinks but rather how to get this blood spilling to stop.Quickly I stood up and walked toward where she asked me to and gently sat down on the chair.“Bring your hands down, let me take a look.” She offered, but I didn't bulge. I was so scared that my blood would puff out at once if I dropped my hand.“I know you are
Devlin POVI didn’t know what got into me. I didn’t know what pushed me to the verge of giving in to my rage. I didn’t just stop there, I choked her to the wall, and now I had injured her.My sharp claws dug in so deep, and I didn’t even realize it until I heard drops of blood on the floor. I cringed at the sight of it. Not only did I feel pain for seeing the cuts on her neck, but I also felt pain cursing through my veins due to the mate bond.I didn’t even try to resist, knowing I deserved it all. I even wanted someone to punch me in the face as my senses seemed to be going out of control.“Get out!” Sarah yelled at me from behind, and the urge to fight her back wasn’t there. I knew what I had done was wrong, so I could only tuck my head back in as I silently walked out of the place drowning in my thoughts.I got out of the door, but my conscience didn’t let me walk far away. I wanted to stay around and make sure Elora was well.“You have worsened everything!” My wolf snorted in my h
Devlin POV“Alpha, what is going on?” Rebecca was the first who asked, looking tense. She would be the one to start the gossiping, as I knew her to have a very long mouth. She always sticks her nose where she never should, and now she has made things worse for me.“You will find out soon!” I said, staring daggers at her, Mike, and Rose. They all became stiff as they lowered their heads looking at each other in shock. It wouldn’t be advisable for me to just attack them head-on in front of the pack, or maybe punish them when I had no valid proof. I knew it was them, but how do I make it convincing to the others that it was them?“Come at me!” I said with a gesture with my palm while smiling but they knew it was too dangerous. Mike had started vibrating while the ladies started pacing backward.“What have they done?”“Why does the Alpha want to fight them?”Whispers went around as they stared at me suspiciously, but I had to make sure it wasn’t obvious, so I decided to make the situation
Elora POVBang! Bang! The door was banged open, startling me up, and I was forced out of bed.“Who’s that?” I asked in fright, bracing myself for what was yet to come.Crack! The door came open and Sarah walked in, panting hard like she had run a marathon. Her chest was heaving heavily, as though her heart would erupt out of her chest. Fear was glinting in her eyes and she didn’t stop until she held my arms.“What’s wrong? Are we under attack or what?” I asked worriedly.“No, it's Devlin. I believe he will kill some warriors.” She said while I squinted my eyes at her as I didn’t feel like it was relevant to me in any way.It was his pack. He was entitled to do whatever he wanted with it and even burn it down to chunks if he wanted to, and I wouldn’t stop him. All I cared about was escaping, and I wouldn’t let anything come my way.“So? That’s the reason you barged in here, startling me?” I shrugged her away looking uninterested, and she was taken aback. Her body turned cold as she st
Elora POVI had a wolf? Was that a joke or what? All my life I knew I didn’t so what the heck was he talking about? Or maybe he was trying to make me feel okay in the center of the crowd?“What are you saying?” I pushed his hands away and a look of disgust emerged in my eyes. “Do I look like a joke to you?” I grumbled.“No. Look at your eyes!” He said, pushing forward to grab my face while I leaned backward, staring at him in shock. Not only he, but everyone seemed to be staring deeply into my eyes as though they were lost in them.Turning towards Sarah, she wasn't exempted. I could feel her hand shivering underneath mine, and she seemed to have lost her confidence.“Sarah what’s wrong!” I asked, tugging her forward, but she pulled her hand quickly and tried to calm herself to regain her senses.“Didn’t you realize how loud your scream was? It wasn’t your voice but that of your wolf.” Devlin explained, but the more he did, the more I felt lost, and my thoughts felt like a puzzle for
