Chapter five

Eliora's POV

I was so pained as his strong palm dragged me against my will. There was no way I would choose to go with him ever in this life. We just met, and yet, he was claiming to feel the bond, and I was supposedly his mate. Hilarious right?

I pondered in my thoughts feeling like I should just peel off my flesh at the exact place he was holding so he would let go but due to how aggressive he was, I knew for sure that an attempt would be futile.

We headed towards the car and everyone was watching how I was being dragged. No one dared to intervene, having known the story behind this man. He was feared by every pack, and I was also scared of him.

“Why is he taking her? She is in this pack. Where is he taking her?”

“What is going on?”

“Why isn't the Alpha doing anything? Why would he allow one of us to be taken?”

Some people whispered and they came across me. Hearing their words, my heart melted. I never thought they would accept me, maybe they would, but I thought they might be faking it. But then, from their expression, I was certain they meant every word they said.

However, none of them dared to approach, knowing they might be single-handedly killed by him. He was ruthless, arrogant, and also prideful.

“Get in the car!” He opened the door and let go of my arm. His eyes held a shade of emotion in them, but I couldn't allow myself to be lured in.

“I said get in!” He said again, this time his voice sounded harder than before while his face was squeezing. Despite that, I wasn't moved. I stood with crossed arms looking at the pack house, expecting Ario to miraculously jump out and come save me, but he wasn't coming.

“I don't have patience, woman. It's either you get in or I force you. I have never seen someone as stubborn as you.” He sneered.

“Why do I care? Just leave me alone and pretend you never saw me!” I clicked my tongue and was waiting for an opening. The second I get, I intend to make a run for it.

“Don't test my patience. You won't want to make a scene here. At least not now. Don't think all these people can save you.” He suddenly sounds different making shivers run down my spine. When he saw we had gotten the best of me, he grabbed me by the arm and tucked me into the car. The urge to fight him slipped away as I didn't see Ario coming to my rescue.

With how Devlin here was deadly, even I would need some time before coming at him. After having that thought, I sighed and placed my head on the window glass having a view of the pack as I knew I would be gone for a while.

Vroooom!

He started the engine and dropped the car off in silence, while I was left pondering in my head.

___

After a while, we arrived at a different city filled with beautiful homes. Compared to the Arios pack, it had certain standards that would leave anyone staring for a long while. I was caught in awe and kept twirling my head around.

“You like the view?” Devlin asked, but I ignored him. Just then I remembered evil places always looked the finest just so it could be tempting enough.

“Ignoring me now, huh?” He grinned, leaning forward towards me, but I shrugged.

“Alpha, you are back?” Someone suddenly called out from outside, and he leaned back and then pushed the door open. I also followed him and in front, I could see a massive building secluded at a place. That must be the pack house, I concluded.

Toward the front, there was a blond man who was heavily structured walking towards us. His body was covered with muscles but then compared to him Devlin was more.

“Yes, I am back. And also I came with good news.” Devlin pulled me towards him, clinging myself to his body possessively, and everyone had their eyes staring at me widely.

“She is my mate.” He said, and just then I saw some men walking behind the blond man with smiles on their faces.

“She's your mate?” The blond man said, but unlike the others, he was frowning. His eyes were glued to me as he watched me intensely, almost as though he could set me up in flames.

Then he started sniffing the air and walking faster towards me.

“You brought a human to the pack?” He grumbled as he sniffed further and was on the verge of dragging me off when Devlin tossed his hand away. Quickly, I closed my eyes as my heart flew to my chest in fear as I thought something was going to happen to me.

“Back off!” Devlin snorted at him. I opened my eyes after feeling a sense of protection from him and looked forward. There was a kind of tension between them, but the blond man didn't look like he would back down.

He was ready to stand Devlin head-on. Shockingly, That was the first time I had seen someone with courage like this.

“Back down? You brought a human, and you want me to back down? I hope this is a joke. I hope she's just supposed to be a maid here in the pack right?” The blond man didn't back down. He was ready to fight it out, and I started doubting if Devlin was the Alpha. The kind of aura the blond man was emitting was as though he were above him.

But then I didn't pay too much attention to all that, as I knew I was the center of everything. I knew everything was going to end in my head and for this once I found myself clinging to Devlin for protection.

“A maid?” Devlin finally spoke, with a shade of darkness occupying the upper side of his face.

“Yes! I'm not right?” The blond-haired man countered him.

“How dare….you!" Delving rumbled and lunged at him.
